The location was just what we wanted.
Housekeeping comes early and no coffee pot in room
It is an old 2 star hotel and for this it is far good enough. Based on my world wide experiences I would value it even 3 star. We liked the location and the staff. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby. We spent here 10 days but against other travellers who claimed we never waited long for the elevator. Indeed it is small but quite fast.
Paid Wi-Fi in the rooms is absolutely non standard nowadays. The bed was a bit small for us with a 4 years old child.
Location to beach, restaurants Cost Free beach towels Next door to ABC store Worth upgrading to an ocean view room
Parking was a loading bay out front. Need to unload your bags yourself and drive your car around the corner to a poorly marked third party valet then walk back through a path that is locked at night so early check-outs mean walking around the long way to pick-up your vehicle. Hotel won't call valet until you're at the counter and due to "insurance liability", you have to walk to get your car yourself. Must also be a liability to help load bags too. As a solo female traveller, dark and dodgy parking in a 'deal-breaker' for me.
The furnishings needed updating badly. The hallways, elevator area etc need serious upgrading and maintenance. My room had several cockroaches. When I told front desk they said they would send someone up to spray the room. When no one came to spray I went back to desk and asked about it. Their reply was "we are having trouble finding the bug spray, it's in a different department." As far as I know the room never was sprayed.
Friendly staff, good location and good value for money.
The staff is fantastic. plus location, location , location
the second hand furnishings need to be replaced in room with new, The bathroom sink needs to be tilted back so the water drain. The shower leaks. Carpet in hallways and elevator worn , holes, gum
Liked location it's close to airport.
Staff is unfriendly. Customer service is very poor.
Small size of room
AC too cold. Thermostat does not work. Elevator too small Old paint
The floor was sticky when we arrived. The hotel description did not say anywhere that the room has no window which was quite a disappointment (first time in our lives to live in a hotel room without a window..). Explained the situation to hotel stuff but they could not help in any way
Only the location and view of the beach on the other side of the road
Everything else - room was too small even though described as a "deluxe Queen", couldn't do much in it. No desk to work at, noisy air conditioner which smelled as though wires were burning, bed linen was faded and scratchy, door to balcony did not lock even though sign on door said keep locked for safety!!! Furniture old and scratched. Nowhere to sit properly and relax as no space. No coffee machine, nothing - just a tiny fridge on a stool. Definitely stretching the name "deluxe"! Expensive for what you were getting. Also, one tiny old, decrepit and not very clean and rickety elevator taking everyone up their rooms. I hate to think what happens in a fire. I moved to a better hotel which was actually cheaper and better appointed for business purposes.
Very sufficient staff, gorgeous location next to THE Waikiki Beach, excellent water supply in bathroom, kind of pacific Art Deco style
Room: Door with open windows next to the lift. So it was quite noisy!
Attitude of staff was exceptional. Location was great and easy access to beach and restaurants
Very Small room....too cramped for more then 2 nights. Bathroom toilet squealed all night but we closed the door and it was alright.
clean good location friendly staff
View, good room service
Facilities are little bit old
Location and bed
The staff here so friendly, awesome customer service... I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I would like to compliment Kevin at the front desk who went out of his way to make our stay memorable... Thank you Kevin
Our shower and sink backed up and drained very slow..
We liked it all! Is walking distance from everything! Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a view from our room.
Nothing I didn't like. Hotel is old and needs some cosmetic work in some of the rooms, but nothing that's going to ruin a vacation. Our shower leaked terribly but we asked for more towels and it took care of the problem. Again, just cosmetic.
The location was great - the bed was comfortable.
The staff were not helpful No tea/ coffee making facilities. I was promised a balcony and didn't have it. Small room noisy air con couldnt open windows due to noise Just a room and bathroom basic
The bed was not comfortable and lobby and elevator is too small and smelled funny
location is perfect. Waikiki beach is across the street. The view is amazing. Sunset view is breathtaking! Convenient for shopping and dinning.
Very handy to everything, especially safe swimming beach - right opposite. Many restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
We got one of the few rooms with no window. We didn't specify a window because we didn't know that there were windowless rooms.
Location is great for surfing: it takes 5 min from your room to riding waves. View from the rooms with "full ocean view" is very nice. I didn't regret paying additional money for it - my friend had a room without ocean view and impression of the room is completely different.
Air conditioner was noisy, I was fine with it, but for some people it may be an annoyance.
Location is, of course, #1 ! Staff was most courteous, very friendly and helpful. Lobby up the few stairs was admirable---quiet, nicely furnished, etc.
Only stayed 2 nights but location was great (directly opposite Waikiki Beach) and it had a small balcony facing the ocean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was basic but definitely the right price for us.
One very small, slow lift but it got us there. Air conditioner a little noisy.
