The street noise is out of control. The place is old and run down. The TV is from the 80's. The elevator is slow and can only hold three people, it is big enough for more people, but it still says only 3 people - scary. I took the stairs.
The location is great.
I didn't like all the dust and left over cigarette pack I found behind the nightstand whwn I pushed the 2 twin beds togettogether.
I liked how close it was to where I needsed to be in SF (Consulate General Brazil)
Cleaning lady doesn't do vacuuming properly, knows English badly, so she didn't understand me.
location, price, wi fi, comfortable bed
Scary elevator, dusty room with Spartan amenties.kwggad
The Booking.com 'conditions' indicated that I could pay with cash...but when I arrived..this was not the case...I was made to run around looking for a Bank of America to sort out some banking business (which is why I indicated 'cash' as preferred payment) and the banks were closed,etc...long story short..they finally took cash after I happily forked over a hundred dollar deposit for the room. Could have done that right at the beginning of our interaction and saved me a sweaty hassle walking around an unfamiliar city....but no.
Awesome central location at Union Square and the start of Chinatown...so lot's of great eating and a fine place to originate in The City, especially if you are brand new to SF and have no earthly idea which way is which...so you go out..get lost...have a blast!
We had no welcome at all! She was on the phone while processing my card and handing me the key.. Only words were "card", "sign" and while we were still waiting for a welcoming talk "you're good to go". I work in the hospitality business and this is bad! There is no wifi in room, only at reception and common room.
The location is good. You get new towels everyday and your bathroom will be clean.
Everything! Place was smelly. Facilities were old and dysfunctional. Elevator is a hazard. Lots of noise and drunken people roaming corridors at night. Screaming all through the night; we could hardly catch any sleep.
Just out dated, could do with a refurbishment - other than this it's brilliant ;)
Close to everything ;)
Road noise - very loud! Shower hard to work and not very hot.
Price Location by chinatown and little italy
The bed was hard as a rock.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The fleece blanket on the bed had multiple hairs on both sides. Sheets were clean but I would say that the fleece not being washed was fairly obvious.
Bathroom was new and clean. Location is great and price point is great.
A hotel staff (old man) bang my back & a glass of hot water I was holding spilled on my right wrist & I got burnt. He did not even say sorry. The young guy name Jeff did say sorry .
a bit smelly
Price and location
My room did not have a safe.
Great location, clean room, window that opened, plenty of hot water...hotel was quiet.
It was one of the worst hotels I have ever slept in.
Vending machines were empty! Very old style and shaky elevator, desk man difficult to understand, and tried to hassle us into paying $50 key deposit.
Elevator, privacy, desk man stays on cot at counter all night, he's line security requiring babe and rm # before going to rm, in Japan town, can open windows.
There was no internet in the rooms. Very run down. The website implied that breakfast was included but it was not.
Staffs are asian family and friendly but internet was available only on 2nd floor in public area.
Electric heater is very loud
Excellent location Good value
Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Wifi only available in one common room on second floor. Staff seemed friendly to Asian tourists but were aloof and indifferent to non-Asian guests, such as myself.
Location in Chinatown meant it was easy to get around to different parts of San Francisco. Cheap room rates are good for budget conscious travelers.
They have WIFI only in the second floor. Old building
Excellent location Clean room
The room was small and didn't have much ambiance. We missed having internet service in our room, but it was available on the 2nd floor at no charge.
The location was great, and we were able to walk easily to Union Square and various restaurants/shops. The price was very reasonable, so it was worth putting up with a few inconveniences.
Room felt very old, in need of updating.
Right next to Chinatown, close to Union Square and the Bart station.
