Quality of room, dirty feel to it. Super noisy, hardly slept.
location decent price
very old facilities no wifi in room, need to sit in a common room on Level 2
Location and price
Dirty, unhygienic, smelly hotel. Would not recommend or stay again.
Great location. Front lobby staff friendly.
No screens on the windows. Mosquitos kept fliying in. No plug for the bathtub. Had to ask every day for towels for the children. Don't expect a quiet night of sleeping.
The hotel is in an excellent location if you don't mind a little bit of walking. The price is a fair price, we payed less for more elsewhere but obviously the cities weren't as popular. Staff were all very helpful.
The rooms were clean but they didn't feel clean because of how dated the hotel was. If you want a hotel you're going to spend a lot of time in then this isn't it but if you want a base to sleep in for good value here is fine- we spent 5 nights no problem
The room had a bad smell, couldn't sleep because of the sounds from toilets and showers from other rooms in the morning. The woman in the reception was not friendly at all. Wifi didn't work in the room.
The room is hot! No AC, window cannot open, noisy doors, room too small, bad are hard and small.
Fair price. Excellent location. Rom was a bit small.
Breakfast was limited and had a nominal charge
location and price.
facilities are old, bedding and furniture in the room are cheap and poor. No wifi in hotel room
Worth it for the $$$ and the location! Walking distance from city center and union square, right next door to Chinatown. Staff are easy going. You do get what you paid for when it comes to the room, but it's all good - definitely good enough for sleeping :)
Only drama was our toilet wouldn't work sometimes, we were told to stop flushing it so often, but we hadn't even touched it for a whole day when this tended to happen.
The ubication is great, just a couple of blocks of the downtown, union square and all the stores, near to take tours, great place!!
It has a funny smell, all the things are too old, the bed is a mess, the courtains too old. If you want a good ubication but no confortable is ok
Our first room had bed bugs, really big adults. We were moved, same issue, then finally moved again to another floor with no bed bugs. We had a sleepless night but still were charged for the night, and only offered 20% off the stay. Some of the staff were nice enough, but had no interest in helping us with the costs that we have now incurred to dry clean all of our clothes to ensure we don't carry any bugs home. Not a good experience and poor facilities. It's cheap but I wouldn't recommend it.
Great location (5 minute walk to Union Square, right next to Chinatown entrance), and in relative walking distance of most SF tourist areas except for the Golden Gate bridge. Tons of restaurants within a 5-15 minutes walking distance of hotel. Good for traveling young couples or groups of friends who aren't particularly picky about accommodations (ie, just need a place to sleep and store their stuff).
No Wi-Fi in the room (only in lounge on 2nd floor); towels were hung back up without being cleaned; Queen room was pretty small (but there is free luggage storage in the lobby); bed was somewhat hard.
Close proximity to Chinatown and location has plenty of nearby shops such as cafes and eateries. Excellent if you are only looking for basic lodging. Value for money.
No air conditioning as advertised. The reason we booked the hotel was for the A/C. Luckily the weather was cold when we visited San Fran.
Great location - just 20 yards from Chinatown Gates and two blocks from Union Square. Outstanding value for money.
Old hotel - definitely needs renovation. Small rooms. Cheap towels. Dying and horrifying elevator. No WiFi in rooms - you have to go to the guest room on the 2nd floor to use the Internet.
Great location, super cheap, beds and bathroom were clean, room was serviced everyday.
Needed an update (furniture and paint job was old and make it look dirtier than it was), bed was very hard and the shower didn't drain proper so we had to wait 15 minutes between each person to take a shower or we would floor the room.
The only good thing would be the location and it was close to union square and public transport
The hotel was dingy, the room had an odd smell to it. The mattress was creaky and uncomfortable. The bathroom was small and the shower stall was dirty.
The location was excellent! We had 3 rooms. We had clean rooms and good service.
There was nothing we didn't like. Forthe price we paid it was good!
The location is close to everything.
The elevator was really slow and no central heat system.
Location, location and location
That's a very old hotel which definitely needs an extensive refurbishment or renovation.
Quiet hotel in lively street, ideal location. Low price, for undemanding people very good choice. Fair play. They told us better not to have breakfast in the hotel and recommended nice restaurand nearby.
The hotel is centrally located and within 50 feet from Chinatown Gates. The staff was extremely helpful.
