the staff are friendly and awesome!
location...employees...style of room
key machine was out-of-order
Cleanliness , comfort, staff,
Bed bugs! Lots of them! Staff very unhelpful in resolving the matter. I would not let anyone close to me (or far from me) stay at this sub-par place. Lowest marks possible.
The staff were accomodating. I arrived late and they showed up at the hotel an hour after I arrived to check me in.
I paid for parking service and they did not provide it. I woke up at 7am and the staff was not in the lobby.
Amazing staff who were friendly, helpful and fun! :) They went out of their way to help me out with whatever I needed help with. Highly recommended! The rooms have kitchen facilities and cabinets, so staying for a long time wouldn't be a problem either. The location is good with lots of parking opportunities. A bit out of the way for the serious partyer, but there are excellent restaurants and cool dive bars (plus House of Blues) right next to the hotel.. I highly recommend this hotel for the budget traveller! Excellent value. I'll definitely stay here again! :)
No drinking water in the vending machines, but the staff always took care of water, so nothing big :)
I loved the place. I did choose the Athens Hotel as my very first hotel in Houston. Lovely and helpful staff, excellent location for a good price! I highly recommend to everyone!
Very very friendly
Did not know alot about bus/rail times or where to catch them. Breakfast could be better both food and seating wise.
Bill (the guy that does the billing and check in) was great and you can't beat the location.
The rest of the staff are un-aware that they work in the hospitality industry.
2 stars max!! When I got to the hotel for the check in the woman at the reception didn't even look at me. Didn't got any information about breakfast or check out. Bathroom was dirty, kitchen and utensils were disgusting. I will never stay here again.
Location and price.
The room was big and had everything I needed including a full kitchen.
The Wi-Fi cut in and out often. The breakfast actually featured quite a few choices, but I had to search and dig through the fridge with no offer of any help from the staff, who just sat there and ignored me.
Room was very comfortable with kitchen facilities and full size fridge. Was slightly cramped, bed was comfortable and clean. Close walking distance to basketball stadium and a few nice restaurants.
Internet was very slow in rooms but ok in reception. Breakfast was below average, with no designated dining area, just in reception. Parking was a rip off for $20 a day and was a block and a half away from the hotel and not secure.
hotel is a disaster
Hotel staff and the location of the hotel being close to George Brown convention centre.
Breakfast . Should be improved. Long distance and international calls facility should be provided in the room.
Cost and convenience for attending event at Convention Center.
-Previous room repairs not professionally finished ( ceiling in room 216) - Wifi didn't work in the room - While of high quality at one time, carpet was outdated - Continental breakfast very mediocre (orange drink instead of OJ, spoiled milk, no water for Oatmeal, microwave breakfast burritos like you find at convenience store. - bath towels on par with Motel 6 (not a good thing)
This hotel is a total mess. I booked there for a business trip. Because of poor weather conditions my I my flight was delayed and I could not reach Houston the first night. I called the hotel and send an email. When I finally arrived and came into the very dusty lobby, I had to wait 5' an employee who told me that the hotel was full. However I had confirmed the previous day. They did not even to help me and leave me to find another place by myself. Worst of all they charged me the first night. Honestly, you cannot rely on this hotel.
close to TOYATA Center!
Location, amenities, Price
It was within walking distance George Brown Convention Center. I enjoyed their continental breakfast and coffee. The kitchen and bathroom were clean. It was nice to have a refrigerator, microwave, and extra plugs in the kitchen.
Not cleaned or vacuumed around the edges of the bed. Yuck, stepped on wrappers and hair under edge of bed. Our A/C did not work. We kept the windows open, because the room had been smoked in prior to our staying in it. It wreaked of cigarette smoke. Sheets and bedding were clean, but stained.
Close to conv. center, fit our 1 night just fine
Out dated lobby
Good location to Toyota Center
Bed bugs Coffee pot inop French fries in night stand Charged $30.00 for our 15 pound dog. No information on web site or signage at front desk saying anything regarding pets Terrible breakfast
Location and price
A giant Roach came out from under the stove. Trash left in the bathroom cabinets from a former guest.
The hotel is centrally located and the staff were very polite and helpful. A great hotel for some one on a budget.
They have no elevator and all rooms are on the 1st floor. Though the person on duty cheerfully lugged our bags to the 1st floor, I felt worried for him as he was panting profusely after that. Some elderly/differently abled guests may not be able to negotiate the stairs. Breakfast was a disappointment as no hot items were served ( I missed my hot omelette)
