The only problem we had was that we could not figure out how to work the shower knob but even at 11:00 at night, a gentleman from the front desk ran right over and fixed it.
Habitat Suites is off the beaten path, north of downtown but easy to find with big 2 room suites with a kitchen just like an apartment with nice grounds and chairs and benches outside every room to enjoy the ambiance. There is a courtyard and pool where you can eat a really great breakfast cooked up fresh just for you and one of the nicest staffs from kitchen to front desk - a winner all around. Plus, we took cabs everywhere from here and it was only $10 to less than $20 no matter where we went - very convenient.
Value for the money. A hidden gem. All around great experience. Very comfortable park-like setting. Large rooms, great bed, breakfast and staff. Far exceeded my routine expectations given I travel to this area every week.
The breakfast, although quite complete, lacked "waffles", my favorite; and the proverbial "sweet rolls".
Upon arriving the overall experience was like "entering into an oasis". Once you got out of the auto, your attention was directed inward to a "peaceful and relaxing" space.
Not much of interest in immediate area.
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, spacious suites. AMAZING free breakfast!
the apartment was spacious and everything was clean. It was very quiet and you could sit on a porch and listen to the small waterfalls in the pool. It is very close the highway but you cannot hear anything. Breakfast was very good aswell!
Need car to go anywhere
Calm and quiet, nice big rooms/apartments, good breakfast, will go back when in Austin.
uncomfortable pillows, rooms look worn, badly patched wallpaper in bath room. Rooms need renovation
price, clean, location, plenty of room
The Habitat has no fitness center.
The sheets, the mattress, the hot water, the pool, and hot full serve breakfast with gluten free bread AND soy milk was amazing.
Location and the home feeling
Location does mean you'll have to travel to get to anything interesting
An oasis in an otherwise rather un-remarkable part of town
Bathroom in room could use updating
Nice room and lobby area
The free and delicious breakfast included made on site scrambled eggs, and french toast. Gluten free bread, organic teas, jams, and yogurt also available. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Sofa bed had old sheets on bed.
Staff was great.
A little skimpy on parking spots near our room.
This was our first trip with our baby, who still requires constant supervision. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating, especially around breakfast. They helped my husband pack up food for me to eat in our room while I was breastfeeding, though under normal circumstances I think they prefer breakfast eaters to dine in. The room was really clean and really big. It is essentially a one bedroom apartment with a full bath and full kitchen, large living room and large bedroom. The breakfast was really delicious. It was all organic and the hotel itself is a "green" hotel. We saw rain collection barrels around the grounds and solar panels on all the roofs. This will definitely be my first choice for a hotel in Austin on any future trips.
Didn't have a functioning hand soap and no lotion at all.
Breakfast was great rpom great ,quite pool was nice
Ran out of hot water. Probably due to these apartments having been converted to hotel with undersized water heaters.
Good value for a two bedrooms, kitchen, and free generous breakfast. Since this facility was once an apartment complex, our two bedroom hotel room was like living in a small home rather than a "cramped" hotel room. Also, the staff was very courteous and the breakfast was one of the best.
Sometimes wi-fo didn't work in the room.
This is a fabulous place to stay - their breakfast is delicious with mostly organic foods and many foods to choose from. They have a happy hour that has not only delicious food but also drinks. It's very comfortable. Love the full kitchen. they said their mattresses are fairly new. It's very quiet - they have a quiet zone starting at 10pm until am. You won't hear late night party-ers (yeah). Close to the UT Austin. This is a green Eco-friendly place!! Can't wait to return! Already booked a room for 2 months from now.
Little or no hot water in the mornings
The rooms & decor of room were MUCH older than the pictures make them seem!
decent location as long as one has a rental car Hot breakfast & cute lil happy hour Full kitchen
beds are a too firm for me. plumbing is quite loud (can clearly hear the neighbor flush the toilet, take shower etc.). shower head too low (I'm 5'10" and had to crouch)
nice room, good price
We tried to get the bus into town but waited in a very cold wind for ages, so we had to take the car. There are bus and rail links into other parts of Austin but they are not frequent and end early, so we had to use the car. There is nothing much in the neighborhood of the hotel.
Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, lovely room, and a much appreciated happy hour.
Location, privacy and everything it offers! PLUS the organic healthy choices they offer for breakfast....that I LOVE!
