Private function - no access to restaurant pool area on final day

Good location, friendly and helpful staff.

We were there in february and the wether was quite cold. The heating in the room is exclusively air conditioning and it has a hard time handling cooler whether. The Ipod dock was not working in Ipod mode (just radio)

I liked the scenery of the hotel in general...the colors, structure.

The price for each night to high...they only had one robe in the closet. They should have two.....

The front desk employee was the one who made my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Very friendly and lovely person. Am Happy that Avalon hired such a great professional

Pillows were so uncomfortable

I return to this hotel as it's very well placed in Los Angeles but in a quieter neighbourhood - and has such a super relaxing ambiance. It's restaurant the Oliverio is superb too and has a great new gym and outdoors pool. Will always go back there as tried and tested other LA hotels!

I must start with the staff. From the 1st minute we arrived, we were taken care of in the most gentle/friendly manner by all the girls working there (Ryann, Amber, Frances > big up) and the valet guys. We even had little friendly touching notes and chocolates in our room once in a while. The swimming pool area/restaurant is very pleasant and the background music is very chilled, unlike other hotels. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and we loved the 50's decoration. The location of the hotel is very good because central (same distance between the beach and Hollywood, near the central part of BH, close to Melrose). Bottom line, it made our trip fantastic.

The history of the hotel, the decor and the pool area was great... The bathrooms were generous size and the rooms were equally spacious. Location was perfect and walking distance to Rodeo Drive and other areas..

A few issues... The internet was not available for 3 days, even though there was a $15 per day surcharge. After a few days of no internet, they wavered the fee and it did not appear on our bill. However, for work reasons it was inconvenient to have not have it available. Apart from Francis who was wonderful at concierge, the rest of the staff were lacking in knowledge and were rude at times. One girl in particular who was from Europe working there was very non customer friendly. Functions were booked outside the pool area which did not allow customers to have breakfast there and also they would close the pool from 6pm for this reason..

I love this hotel, it's one of a kind - and I go to many hotels around the world, this is one that I keep going back to... Now my fourth trip!

Super relaxed ambiance, funky hotel with spacious and fabulous interiors.

The shower did not work and the rooms are very small. At night you can hear the kitchen.

Boutique style hotel. Small and intimate.

Pool too small and too close to rooms. Very poor service in restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast far too expensive.

The front staff was friendly and responsive but not always on the ball. The valet guys were awesome! They were responsive, fast and friendly.

I called the front desk asking for extra blankets, pillows, and towels. Each time I was told they would be right up, but they only came when I complained to management.
