I had to wait for 2 hours for check in !!!
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool/lounge area was nice looking and inviting - at least as the center point of the hotel. The restaurant was surprisingly good (!) ate there twice - would eat there even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. The size of our room was great.
I thought the room/outside hallway could use a coat of paint/a little sprucing.
Rooms are very comfortable, with updated Euro-styling. Clean, modernistic bathroom, comfortable bed and large screen TV. Quiet. Lobby and breakfast area very cool, as with room. Older-looking on outside, but don't be put off by exterior, as rooms are very nice.
$37 for overnight parking was high.
Fabulous Hotel set in Beverley Hills. Food at the restaurant is amazing and a must! We spent New Years Eve at their New York themed party and had an amzing time. Great value for money.
It was nice, cleaned and also great food at the restaurant. I will definitely stay there again
IT WAS ALL PERFECT
Free room wifi Great location Really nice staff
We love the Avalon Hotel. We experienced the deliciousness of noir 1950's LA glamour, with all the respective services and comforts of a modern hotel. We will definitely be returning for future stays. Great styling. Superb bathrooms, the showers were excellent, very nice toiletries. All the details from great lighting fixtures, so subdued color pallets, it was all so relaxed and chic. We had a room overlooking the pool.
I would suggest you make an inquiry if there is a film shoot going on, and ask respectfully to be put as far away as you can from the film shoot locations. We, unfortunately, had a sleepless night on one of the nights we stayed, as a result of a film shoot happening on site through the night into the early morning.
We stayed late October for my wife's 30th birthday. The hotel upgraded our room and also gave us a bottle of Prosecco without us even asking. A wonderful touch. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very helpful (especially the guy on the front desk - I think his name was Alexsander but I'm not certain). Location is perfect and the food at the restaurant is top notch, better than a lot of the local restaurants even!
Honestly, I can think of anything other than a few of the Uber drivers mistake the hotel for a house!
The staff treat you like royalty. Room is clean and modern.
I'd give this hotel the location and having friendly staff.
Over priced for what it has to offer. It's old and they tried to make it look good by spending a little money on renovation but clearly did not work out well. I go to LA a lot and this place has been the worst hotel i have ever stayed at.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent decor and great location.
I expect complimentary water and not to pay $6 per bottle.
Relaxed atmosphere, perfect if you need or want to stay in the area without the need to impress somebody. Very cool...I kept thinking this would have been a place where the Rat Pack would have hung out back in the day, great vibe.
The facility shows some of its age if you look too close. Our car was briefly given to the wrong guest by the valet...the problem was quickly straightened out but scary for a second.
Reception personnel and Valet were very kind, called us by name and were efficient. Room was spacious and overlooked internal gardens/pool Clean, well kept and comfortable, not pristine. Quality fixtures, bedding and amenities.
Room location backed onto alley way and was quite loud beginning at 6am each morning - cars, horns, workers, backup alarms from medium sized trucks with regularity. Photo shoot took place in the pool location both week days we were there limiting access to amenities/access to pool and were there most of the day.
The staff is very friendly. Location is very quiet. When checking out, I did relay our second stay not being quite as wonderful as our first. The gentleman was very apologetic and he did remove our daily parking fee from the bill.
We were upgraded to a junior suite, however it was designed for handicap. The bed was not very comfortable. I wasn't too crazy about the toilet not having a lid.
lovely hotel, great staff, good breakfast, concierge was second to none, book trips at the hotel, nice pool
the air con was broken for our entire stay meaning our sleep was constantly broken. we complained and they kept sending maintenance to fix it, but the same thing would happen over again. The pool is lovely, shame it is always in the shade as it makes sunbathing difficult!
Room was very clean and staff were great.
We were in a separate building which overlooked the car park. Totally overpriced for the quality of the room. Room facilities are poor - no tea/coffee machine, shower head is very low down so you must crouch to wash your hair, no drinking glasses. Can only use swimming pool from 9am to 6pm which is surrounded by seating for a restaurant. Very disappointing.
My arrival at the hotel was very pleasant, the German lady at the reception was very kind and welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the beauty products in the bathroom were a pleasure to use.
I ordered a latte at the pool, which I wanted to put on the room. This was not possible, I was required to pay for it cash. The waiter who brought me the bill, was quite arrogant, requesting that I would pay the latte as soon as possible. I went up to the room to get some cash to pay for it, and the reception called me once again to remind me to bring the 5 dollars. I think this is very inappropriate and it made me feel uncomfortable.
It was very quirky, the furniture and pictures suited the hotel perfectly. We only stayed for two nights. We had dinner one night and it was very good. Breakfast one morning and that was good also. Our room overlooked the pool which was nice I
Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and polite.
Thought the hotel was looking a bit dated in areas, and could do with some modernisation. Room was clean, but blinds were broken and wall paper was coming off the wall in areas. The staircase and lifts were not to standard for a hotel in this area, and price.
Friendly staff. The block around the corner is really quiet it's nice.
Food and drinks were overpriced. Fairly over priced all together for what it is.
Location, nice pool!
Expensive for what it is really, the art deco hotel concept does not mean you do not have to touch up paint here and there and update some of the room features. Bathroom equipment/features was the same as a comfort inn. Drinks and food overpriced. I will never go back to this hotel.
Pool, valet service, internet, Italian restaurant
Noisy in the AM, location good for south LA but less so for the rest, Car had a slight scrape from the valet service
Hotels history and style. It was walking distance to Rodeo Drive
Pool was so strange, in the middle of a restaurant and you couldn't sunbathe as it was shaded most of the day. Valet parking was $31 a day, which I feel is ridiculous considering this is one of the more expensive hotels to stay at. Rooms at very small!
Great location specious room
They charged us 100$ extra as a deposit for each night which was supposed to be charged back to my card after we left and haven't got it back yet!!
The staff, especially check in staff Yvonne and the Manager could not have been more helpful Location was great, short walk to local shops, cafe's, restaurants. Close to Rodeo Drive and other landmarks and points of interest in Beverly hills, easy drive to Santa Monica pier
Can not think of a single thing. I would highly recommend this accomodation, location and in house facilities.
