Relaxed atmosphere, perfect if you need or want to stay in the area without the need to impress somebody. Very cool...I kept thinking this would have been a place where the Rat Pack would have hung out back in the day, great vibe.
The facility shows some of its age if you look too close. Our car was briefly given to the wrong guest by the valet...the problem was quickly straightened out but scary for a second.
Reception personnel and Valet were very kind, called us by name and were efficient. Room was spacious and overlooked internal gardens/pool Clean, well kept and comfortable, not pristine. Quality fixtures, bedding and amenities.
Room location backed onto alley way and was quite loud beginning at 6am each morning - cars, horns, workers, backup alarms from medium sized trucks with regularity. Photo shoot took place in the pool location both week days we were there limiting access to amenities/access to pool and were there most of the day.
The staff is very friendly. Location is very quiet. When checking out, I did relay our second stay not being quite as wonderful as our first. The gentleman was very apologetic and he did remove our daily parking fee from the bill.
We were upgraded to a junior suite, however it was designed for handicap. The bed was not very comfortable. I wasn't too crazy about the toilet not having a lid.
lovely hotel, great staff, good breakfast, concierge was second to none, book trips at the hotel, nice pool
the air con was broken for our entire stay meaning our sleep was constantly broken. we complained and they kept sending maintenance to fix it, but the same thing would happen over again. The pool is lovely, shame it is always in the shade as it makes sunbathing difficult!
Room was very clean and staff were great.
We were in a separate building which overlooked the car park. Totally overpriced for the quality of the room. Room facilities are poor - no tea/coffee machine, shower head is very low down so you must crouch to wash your hair, no drinking glasses. Can only use swimming pool from 9am to 6pm which is surrounded by seating for a restaurant. Very disappointing.
My arrival at the hotel was very pleasant, the German lady at the reception was very kind and welcoming. The room was comfortable, and the beauty products in the bathroom were a pleasure to use.
I ordered a latte at the pool, which I wanted to put on the room. This was not possible, I was required to pay for it cash. The waiter who brought me the bill, was quite arrogant, requesting that I would pay the latte as soon as possible. I went up to the room to get some cash to pay for it, and the reception called me once again to remind me to bring the 5 dollars. I think this is very inappropriate and it made me feel uncomfortable.
It was very quirky, the furniture and pictures suited the hotel perfectly. We only stayed for two nights. We had dinner one night and it was very good. Breakfast one morning and that was good also. Our room overlooked the pool which was nice I
Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and polite.
Thought the hotel was looking a bit dated in areas, and could do with some modernisation. Room was clean, but blinds were broken and wall paper was coming off the wall in areas. The staircase and lifts were not to standard for a hotel in this area, and price.
Friendly staff. The block around the corner is really quiet it's nice.
Food and drinks were overpriced. Fairly over priced all together for what it is.
Location, nice pool!
Expensive for what it is really, the art deco hotel concept does not mean you do not have to touch up paint here and there and update some of the room features. Bathroom equipment/features was the same as a comfort inn. Drinks and food overpriced. I will never go back to this hotel.
Pool, valet service, internet, Italian restaurant
Noisy in the AM, location good for south LA but less so for the rest, Car had a slight scrape from the valet service
Hotels history and style. It was walking distance to Rodeo Drive
Pool was so strange, in the middle of a restaurant and you couldn't sunbathe as it was shaded most of the day. Valet parking was $31 a day, which I feel is ridiculous considering this is one of the more expensive hotels to stay at. Rooms at very small!
Great location specious room
They charged us 100$ extra as a deposit for each night which was supposed to be charged back to my card after we left and haven't got it back yet!!
The staff, especially check in staff Yvonne and the Manager could not have been more helpful Location was great, short walk to local shops, cafe's, restaurants. Close to Rodeo Drive and other landmarks and points of interest in Beverly hills, easy drive to Santa Monica pier
Can not think of a single thing. I would highly recommend this accomodation, location and in house facilities.
Very nice moment in avalon. Mythic hotel and vintage! But very modern too! The only things is the bottles of water at 6€ in the room! And the roomate who came every morning in the room at 8:30am when we forget to put the " do not disturb " on the door cause we didn't found it! For the rest nobody in the pool, very nice restaurant and very beautiful rooms.
The hotel is situated very well. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The pool and restaurant was closed to guest for a private event while i was there but they made the proper arrangements to accomodate us by having a driver bring us back and forth to another hotel to enjoy the pool and restaurant there. Great service and great comfy bed made my stay so wonderful.
Alexandra at reception couldn't do enough for us made our stay one to remember. Thank you Alex
Loved the atmosphere and decor of the Hotel ..the bed was super comfy and the bathroom was very nice
This hotel had a very lively happy hour/dinner crowd. If you are looking for a 60s style motel built very closely around a pool with small poolside cabanas with couches you may like it.
I was traveling alone and don't really like rooms that open to the outdoors. Was a nice clean place. Restaurant was good. Bed was a little lumpy and firm.
We enjoyed the restaurant Staff were great Location handy but quiet Room was very comfy and well worth the upgrade, after pay the $$ extra wifi was thrown in.
Pool area very Hollywood glamour but because it's in the middle of the restaurant it's not really a relax by the pool kind of pool.
The room was very nicely decorated, clean and relatively spacious. The hotel is relatively close to the Beverly Hills' centre and you can walk to the centre.
There was no complimentary coffee in the rooms neither a kettle to at least prepare your own coffee.
Nice hotel with service minded personnel
Have not received extra fee that I had to pay at checkout which I was promised.
The hotel was a short walk from the sightseeing bus. The area was beautiful and we felt very safe. The staff were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel rather than a hotel downtown. I would stay at this hotel again.
The hotel is not one building, it gives you the feeling that you are in a room in an apartment block, but we were lucky because our view was the pool, so it was mainly the entrance to the room that gave you that feeling.
Staff were amazingly friendly. Quiet and comfortable
The escalator was broken down.
Great location, nice hotel.
