I didn't like the "resort" fee charge. I thought it wasn't necessary. Either build it into the cost of the room or get rid of it.
I loved my room, the staff and especially the location.
I loved everything from the staff to the premises, excellent service.
I loved the helpfulness of the staff, as soon as they noticed something may be needed around the pool area, there was someone asking you what you needed and in cases they were so helpful with the guests that at one point even when my little one needed a towel at the pool, one of the staff members was able to attend to him faster than I was and believe me, I keep my eyes on my child while at the pool.
everyone at the front desk. concierge, waiters in restaurant. ive stayed in the best hotels in the world. this one bests all others. i will use this as my escape hotel. i live in los angeles.and when i need to escape for a few days this is where i will go. i highly recommend others vacationing here to stay at this hotel.this is an 11+ on a 10 point scale. trust me.
Solicitous friendly staff & gorgeous pool
Wifi a bit slow in room. Poolside was fine. Carparking was quite expensive !!!
Loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Cool vibe understated and not at all pretentious like most LA hotels. Friendly staff.
The walls in the hotel rooms are very thin and you can hear everything going on in other rooms and outside.
Decor, food, and the friendly staff
I will never know if the upgraded room was really an upgrade because I didn't see the rooms in the main hotel. I found the suite uncomfortable, old, dirty carpet and very uncomfortable bed
Nice lobby area
The location of my suite wasn't inside the hotel !!! who can imagine that? they took me to a small building next to hotel. Then, the said your suite is in there. So, when I saw the suite I shocked, it looks exactly like a motel and it was in G floor and too noisy. In the end, it's a nightmare and I don't recommended.
The location, and that's it.
Location perfect, lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff.
next to a bunch of apartments, hotel is kind of hard to find, valet is confusing and there are three separate buildings to the hotel
its very clean and elegant. Very well decorated and staff is very friendly and genuinely nice.
The air conditioner in the room took awhile to cool off room. There was no vent by the bed. When it was cooling water would leak from the unit.
The hotel was designed beautifully loved all the details, the food was wonderful and staff excellent.
It would have been nice if the restaurant had a few more menu choices.
Really enjoyed the privacy and comfort of the room. Really great area, clean and close to the essential amenities, cafe, shopping. Concierge was very helpful with everything we needed.
Lack of relaxing area other than pool side. Limited menu options.
Pool area and room.
The valet parking at a crazy price (40US$ per night!), which is basically compulsory, added to the 15US$ per day "amenities + WIFI fee" (which did not even work as intended) and to the several taxes (so unusual especially for us Europeans), which increased the nominal daily rate for a 50%!!! Beware...
Very cozy hotel, with friendly and well prepared staff, clean and discrete. Breakfast is a little bit expensive, but a must to try: worths all the money.
Abusive personnel, lack of responsewhen attempting to obtaining corporate billing
I had to wait for 2 hours for check in !!!
I thought the room/outside hallway could use a coat of paint/a little sprucing.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The pool/lounge area was nice looking and inviting - at least as the center point of the hotel. The restaurant was surprisingly good (!) ate there twice - would eat there even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. The size of our room was great.
$37 for overnight parking was high.
Rooms are very comfortable, with updated Euro-styling. Clean, modernistic bathroom, comfortable bed and large screen TV. Quiet. Lobby and breakfast area very cool, as with room. Older-looking on outside, but don't be put off by exterior, as rooms are very nice.
Fabulous Hotel set in Beverley Hills. Food at the restaurant is amazing and a must! We spent New Years Eve at their New York themed party and had an amzing time. Great value for money.
IT WAS ALL PERFECT
It was nice, cleaned and also great food at the restaurant. I will definitely stay there again
Free room wifi Great location Really nice staff
I would suggest you make an inquiry if there is a film shoot going on, and ask respectfully to be put as far away as you can from the film shoot locations. We, unfortunately, had a sleepless night on one of the nights we stayed, as a result of a film shoot happening on site through the night into the early morning.
We love the Avalon Hotel. We experienced the deliciousness of noir 1950's LA glamour, with all the respective services and comforts of a modern hotel. We will definitely be returning for future stays. Great styling. Superb bathrooms, the showers were excellent, very nice toiletries. All the details from great lighting fixtures, so subdued color pallets, it was all so relaxed and chic. We had a room overlooking the pool.
Honestly, I can think of anything other than a few of the Uber drivers mistake the hotel for a house!
We stayed late October for my wife's 30th birthday. The hotel upgraded our room and also gave us a bottle of Prosecco without us even asking. A wonderful touch. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very helpful (especially the guy on the front desk - I think his name was Alexsander but I'm not certain). Location is perfect and the food at the restaurant is top notch, better than a lot of the local restaurants even!
The staff treat you like royalty. Room is clean and modern.
Over priced for what it has to offer. It's old and they tried to make it look good by spending a little money on renovation but clearly did not work out well. I go to LA a lot and this place has been the worst hotel i have ever stayed at.
I'd give this hotel the location and having friendly staff.
