This is the best location if you want to stay at South Beach. It is very convenient and easy access to everything i.e. beach, restaurants, bars, bus stop, etc. The bed is so comfortable I dropped my Iphone at the hallway in front of my room and I thought I would never got it back. One of the staff picked it and kept it at the reception counter. I have to say that the stuff here are very helpful and friendly.
The bathroom is very small (but clean).
The situation is the best for miami.we stayed there for first time, as we always go to restaurant when in miami.best restaurant on ocean drive.hotel rooms small, breakfast poor.
Small rooms and bit old and run down.breakfast very poor quality
Position on Ocean Drive Super helpful Reception Value for money
I have no complaints at all but don't expect a quiet modern hotel
Position, inside and outside services
Noise in the room for some near plant in the hotel. Queen beds
Food and staff
Room wasn't that clean bedsheets
Concierge was brilliant and gave us lots of tips of where to go and what to see. He worked out what we needed and priced it accordingly so just because we where staying on Ocean Drive didn't mean we paid those prices.
We booked a beach view room however you could see the beach at a stretch. We stayed on the 3rd floor and we had a road, garden, palm trees and sand dunes before the beach. I also wouldn't recommend having your window open the noise from cars all night and motorbikes is ridicoulous.
Location. Breakfast is fair but nothing special.
Rooms need major upgrading from bathroom to windows.
Rooms were lovely - great view of the beach! Bed was really comfortable and great facilities.
Not much choice for breakfast - things ran out quickly and were not replaced. Not much sleep due to noise of neighbouring bars and clubs. Had problems with parking - only stayed one night so the following day after checkout we had to get the car from the valet and then pay for a days parking so we could go to the beach... after already paying $300 for one night's stay.
unbearable unclean, there were urine stains all over toilet including seat. aircondition extrem loud, window that couldnt be closed, very filthy dirty carpets in the rooms. unfriendly staff
it was in the best location, with teh friendliest staff. Breakfast was as expected and very nice.
Nothing to add... they were great
Location,Room, Restaurant, Ambiance This was the second time we stayed at Avalon and we had a more positive experience mostly because we were given a better room (308) which was roomier and brighter.
good location to airport ,the shuttle bus to airport is very convenient every half hour.
Very forthcoming staff, great location, good price, clean rooms
waiting for a car from valet
the location is about the only think I liked...
Our bedroom over looked a storage area so I was almost glad of the filthy windows. I have stayed at a Premier Inn that has nicer bedrooms than this place. You have to go out, there is nothing at the hotel, no comfortable seating area to chill out when it rains, the bar seemed to be closed except in the evenings, so even then had to go out to a bar to chill and have a drink.
Good big beds
Horrible wifi signal , long wait for elevator as theres only one to share with bell boys housekeeping and other guests
Breakfast was OK.
We were able to upgrade to a sea view room as it was the off season. Staff were excellent. We used the valet parking which was efficient. Breakfast was good. This hotel is all about the location on Ocean Drive.
Our room was in need of updating, the wiring looked ancient and the only working plug we could find was the one for the fridge.
The location on Ocean Drive. A perfect place to relax.
Rooms were smallish. Not much of a problem though as we were at the beach almost throughout.
The location and staff Very friendly.
HELP!!!!!!!! Booking. Com And hotel need to inform customers that some hotels hold your credit card hostage. I could not charge anything on my card because the hotel put hold on my credit card. I was on a tour and tried to use my card twice and it would not approve my purchase!! So I was not happy, because I know I had funds to use. I went back I hotel and ask them about the credit card I used and why can't I use it now. The clerk told me they put a hold on card; to make sure they get paid. I never heard of this before, I suggest everyone get a prepaid card and use at high tourist main strip hotels, so that you not face this problem. It's Sunday and I still can't use my card today to purchase gas for my trip back home. What if this was the only card I had and no cash or another credit card. I be out of luck at the gas station. Booking. Com please I advice you to warn your customer of this policy the hotels are doing. We all need this information before booking the hotel. This has never happen before and I hope this the last time. A lesson learned!!!! Get a prepaid credit card for hotels that put a hold on your credit cards. Your booking.com customer
The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. The tea and coffee provided in the room was also a nice touch. You can't beat the location if you want to stay in South Beach. And, the restaurant was really fabulous.
This is definitely an older hotel with small rooms and the hallways, etc. were a little shabby.
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, great location. Room was a bit small but nothing to complain about. Would stay here again.
We loved the location. Walking distance from the beach, other restaurants/night clubs, main shops and Art Deco district. Free wifi and water were a plus. Very nice and helpful receptionists.
Your front desk was beyond friendly, the lady at the front desk made us feel so welcomed, I wish I could remember her name, I know she was from central America.
True art deco experience right in the heart of South Beach. Staff was very knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations. It's a vintage hotel experience and not a mass market chain type hotel
We enjoyed the location and the Art Deco feel. The staff was very attentive to our maintenance requests (see didn't like area)
Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Really hard to get any sleep. The furniture barely fit in the room which left very little room to walk around or get dressed. The breaker was tripped when we put hair curlers, a phone and an iron in different outlets in the room. The ironing board was a personal board that stood if the stand would have worked only 3 inches from the ground which had to be set on a hard surface the nearby desk. The valet service had us waiting on our car retrieval on multiple occasions for over 30 minutes. The complementary breakfast was a "cold" breakfast. Not that good at all. (We went next door for breakfast the rest of there trip.) Warning: The location was great but the sound of the nearby street kept us up all night. Not the hotel's fault but something to keep in mind.
