Great location for sightseeing and great price value. Adequate facilities with charm. Lived up to expectations.
Have stayed twice. First time we loved it; the second time we were put in a unit that we didn't know even belonged to the Historic Streetcar Inn! The unit we were in had no hall air conditioning where the main unit did. There was no evidence of maid service. Bathtub had hair that wasn't ours and no replacent water cups. Oops, included good with bad. Sorry!
Loved the Inn, accomedations exceeded expectations. Lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpfull.
NO PARKING. 2nd Lady that that worked the desk at night was not at all friendly. Gave us the impression she was drinking. Maid service sucked. Had to go to desk at 4:00 pm to have room cleaned, and sheets changed. We couldn't find t remote on day 2 because maid left it under bed. Appeared haddn't been cleanded under bed in a long time.
The location was good - right on the St. Charles streetcar.
In the ad on Booking.com, this hotel was referred to as a "boutique" hotel. This description was completely fictitious. The building was very rundown, in general disrepair and had an unpleasant odor. Absolutely, nothing qualified it as a boutique hotel. The price was extremely high and not at all appropriate to the location or the quality of the hotel. I would never recommend that any visitor to New Orleans stay here.
Everything! The staff were lovely and very helpful, the rooms were big & comfortable. Breakfast was nice and free tea & coffee all day was a nice bonus. The location was lovely really easy to get the street car to the French Quarter which runs 24hrs, there are a lot of places to eat around the hotel. It was just a lovely overall experience, would definitely recommend as it was really good value for money :-)
Nothing everything was great!
I was a bit surprised at the neighborhood. It was a bit dirty. At first I was uncomfortable, but after our 3 night stay I felt much safer.
The room itself was pretty small. But hey we didn't hang out there.
Location: we parked our car free of charge for 2 days in the street and toured the city with their street car. The latter stops in front of the hotel and its daily ticket is just $3. Very good quality for money. Their breakfast is also good and they'll have coffee and lemon water available at all time. Friendly staff and good WiFi.
Big cockroach in the bathroom. I was told at reception that these are normal here. No lift.
Breakfast was pretty good and was all we expected. The location of the hotel was fair. The streetcar stop is right in front of hotel, which was really handy to the French Quarter.
Quarter inch of dust on the furniture in our room. The room was at the front of the building and the traffic noise prevented us from sleeping. The windows were not noise proof. The carpet in the room had not been cleaned since they were installed years before. Good thing we had slippers. We had no remote for the T.V. and no apology. Dust everywhere. Will pay more to stay elsewhere but will never, ever stay there again.
Owner knew what was what and where to go in New Orleans. Good location. Polite housekeeping staff.
Bathtub dangerously slippy No room cleaning
- location close to historic street car - victorian architecture style
- unfriendly reception desk - almost no hot water in bath room - noisy room (air conditioning in the vicinity) - take your earplugs!
Location. Right on the streetcar line was great. The New Orleans public transit system yes great, though some street signs are missing.
1) the carpet was ripped. 2) the room was musty 3) the heat/air conditioner unit was full of dust. It also made the room either uncomfortably hot or cool. I had the staff clean the unit, and it began to function correctly. However, that day they did not do any other cleaning 4) since this room is on the street, a lock is important. The door lock was loose and had missing screws. Though I asked them to repair, and they agreed, it never happened. Luckily, no breakin. 5) the bed was terrible. It sagged to the center and provided no support. 6) they ran out of items for the breakfast. 7) they were supposed to provide tour information, but never came through. 8) lastly, several of the people had an attitude.
Excellent location for getting to French quarter and Garden District. Hot water and Wi-fi.
Rug was dirty, towels had dried blood on it. Maid service was unacceptable--did not vacuum or change towels during our 3 night stay. Very loud traffic noise at night.
location, facilities, staff friendliness
The sheets and linens were clean. TV worked good with plenty of standard cable stations. WIFI was good. Location on the St. Charles streetcar line was convenient. Iron and ironing board worked. A/C and overhead fan worked fine. Half the crew was plesant.
Carpeting was filthy. Bathroom tub had numerous nicks and gouges. Floor tile had damaged and missing pieces. Toilet is in a cramped space. Banged my arm trying to reach toilet paper. Half the crew were not pleasant.
Location was great - streetcar stopped right in front of hotel. Having breakfast @ the hotel was convenient.
Size of room was about the size of my spare bedroom, Bathroom door coming off hinges, toilet seat loose, shower curtain missing rings, window curtain missing hooks & hanging, towels not collected off floor & trash not collected one day.
Location, staff and accommodations are VERY good. We were overnighting for a quick business trip, driving our own car and had an easy time getting around.
There is no parking lot on site. We had to park on MLK blvd. about a block away. (But everything was fine overnight.)
Location for my visit was very good.
No butter for continential breakfast on Saturday.
The location is perfect if you don't want to be in the French quarter. Great places to eat nearby and the streetcar stops right in front! The bed was very comfortable. The entire inn was very clean!
Our room was a bit small, but that didn't bother me. The choice of furniture for such a small space did however. There was chipped paint, stained walls, the table looked like there had been paint on it in one spot, the bathtub was chipped, etc. Mainly cosmetic issues, but to me if I'm paying that amount of money I expect the room to look good. There is so much potential here!
Location. Friendly feel. Comfortable room.
location / comfort / light breakfast
most of the reception staff don't know the meaning of the word smile - larry was great though - most cleaning staff seemed friendly enough
I really have to commend the helpful staff there. I was arriving late, and they really went out of their way to make sure that everything was ready for me, and I had no problems. Apart from that, it was a nice room, with a real New Orleans feel to it. Bed was comfortable, there was a TV, wardrobe, and full private bathroom. This was all great, considering how cheap it was. As nice as many much more expensive hotels I've stayed in.
Can't think of anything.
The cozy and large room, TV
Location - right in front of streetcar stop. Easy to get around the major parts of the city ... day pass is $3 to ride all day. And - at least the bed was comfortable.
Housekeeping was terrible! Waited an hour for my room to be ready, and wasn't made up! Dirty washrag was left in my room TWO NIGHTS in a row. Only one of my 3 pillows had a pillowcase on it. Hotel ran out of clean towels (!!!). Water pressure in shower is nearly non-existent. Age of building with slanted floors & super-thin walls is either charming or annoying, depending upon one's mood. No elevator to take me & my bad knees up to my 2nd floor room with a heavy suitcase - no help offered, either. Sheets were old, stained and sub-standard.
I have stayed at some of the best Casinos, and other high dollar name brand hotels that had sometype of issues. On that note I won't complain about a older historic hotel that has a few blemishes. The hotel is season one so it's to be expected, however perfect spot. You don't need a car. Just jump on the 24 hr trolley and it's like having a limo. Check out the spots around the hotel too. Much cheaper than the tourist area and just as much fun.
