This historic boutique hotel is located less than a mile from New Orleans’ vibrant French Quarter District.
Score from 506 reviews Excellent
Dirty tiny room, historic charm didn't make up for the almost not flushing toilet and uncomfortable bed. lots of dust
Staff was very friendly. The streetcar stop was directly in front of the inn, which made it extremely convenient to explore the area!
The location of the hotel is convenient to many attractions in New Orleans.
The excuse for dirty rooms (and filthy bathrooms), no heat, and a broken shower head was repeatedly, "well, it's Mardi Gras". Well...I grew up in New Orleans and this excuse doesn't pass muster. When you are in the hospitality industry and your busiest time of the year is Mardi Gras, it's your business to ensure your guests are provided clean rooms - preferably with working bathroom facilities. Given the lack of parking and the very poor quality of the facility, next time I will pay slightly more for a hotel with parking and maid service.
Location was good. Streetcar stopped right across the street. Several good places to eat only a short distance from this property.
Our room was on the 3rd floor. No elevator. No offer from staff to help getting suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. Room wasn't very clean.
The classic old school New Orleans flavor !
Parking is a bit of a challenge !
The french quarter is on walking distance (30-40 min), st Charles avenue ask you to be discovered... is beatiful! Very good breakfast. Streetcar just in front of the hotel.
I found one bug but it can happen in an old building on the ground floor.
Small and quiet.
No phone line. We had to leave early each day, so we would have liked to have breakfast available sooner.
Short taxi ride away to downtown New Orleans and lots of restaurants nearby.
Room was slightly dirty and the bathroom was very small
It is friendly, beautiful, comfortable, on the parade routes. Close to restaurants. Nice neighborhood. Clean!
The staff was awesome! Location was good.
The rooms heat wasn't enough and the room wasn't clean as it should have been.
very friendly staff , breakfast, coffee all day
Bugs in the bed
Great value. The staff was friendly, the room was nice, the location was fantastic, the buildings are cool.
There was some confusion with the booking.
Loved the location and proximity to the street cars and Garden District.
It was very old, mattresses were terrible. Overall cleanliness was a major problem. The first night we had a room with nasty carpet, couldn't even walk barefoot. We asked to switch rooms and it took two nights to make that happen.
Comfortable room. Friendly staff. FYI: Continental breakfast is self service... but was enough to start the day (Yaourt, fruits, pastries, cereals, coffee, orange juice, boiled eggs, cheese spread, bread)
Breakfast room is too small. All the electricity in my room was connected to the main light switch. Lights off = no TV, no power to charge phone, no bedside lamp...
Very helpful staff! Best thing about the hotel was the staff! Right next to a streetcar stop and several bars/restaurants. 10min to the french quarter with the street car. 10min to grocery shopping opportunity with streetcar.
The hotel was on the older side and the breakfast was not impressive.
The location was generally good for the things we did while in New Orleans. The breakfast was generally adequate for us. The cleaning crew overall did a good job. The staff were very helpful and took care of some of our problems.
The room lacked any amenities such as a table to work off of using their wifi. The TV could have been better. There is not much room for opening luggage.
Awesome location streetcar right by hotel
Needs to be cleaner bed was old could use updating
I liked the location, right on the streetcar line, making it easy to get to the typical tourist attractions.
The breakfast was a little sketchy, okay if you hit it at the right time. However, in the building there was only one table for three. So, most people took food to their rooms or sat outside in the cold, where there were some tables, mostly inhabited by smokers.
The people were very friendly and helpful.
Our room was not cleaned every day. I had to go looking for someone to get TP. One day when we got new towels, there were no washcloths. Not the end of the world, but annoying.
I liked the reasonably quiet location. Streetcar stops out front, bbq and pizza joint located to each side of Inn. Inn staff couldn't be friendlier although one guy reeked of booze. We only saw him once as he was a bellhop or something similar.
we couldn't check in till around 4:30 due to (1) crew change at 3:00 which is check in time(?) and (2) the rooms weren't cleaned. Staff was super nice so I don't blame the people on duty but seems management might need to review procedures.
Great location for sightseeing and great price value. Adequate facilities with charm. Lived up to expectations.
Have stayed twice. First time we loved it; the second time we were put in a unit that we didn't know even belonged to the Historic Streetcar Inn! The unit we were in had no hall air conditioning where the main unit did. There was no evidence of maid service. Bathtub had hair that wasn't ours and no replacent water cups. Oops, included good with bad. Sorry!
Loved the Inn, accomedations exceeded expectations. Lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpfull.
NO PARKING. 2nd Lady that that worked the desk at night was not at all friendly. Gave us the impression she was drinking. Maid service sucked. Had to go to desk at 4:00 pm to have room cleaned, and sheets changed. We couldn't find t remote on day 2 because maid left it under bed. Appeared haddn't been cleanded under bed in a long time.
The location was good - right on the St. Charles streetcar.
In the ad on Booking.com, this hotel was referred to as a "boutique" hotel. This description was completely fictitious. The building was very rundown, in general disrepair and had an unpleasant odor. Absolutely, nothing qualified it as a boutique hotel. The price was extremely high and not at all appropriate to the location or the quality of the hotel. I would never recommend that any visitor to New Orleans stay here.
