Location, staff and accommodations are VERY good. We were overnighting for a quick business trip, driving our own car and had an easy time getting around.
There is no parking lot on site. We had to park on MLK blvd. about a block away. (But everything was fine overnight.)
Location for my visit was very good.
No butter for continential breakfast on Saturday.
The location is perfect if you don't want to be in the French quarter. Great places to eat nearby and the streetcar stops right in front! The bed was very comfortable. The entire inn was very clean!
Our room was a bit small, but that didn't bother me. The choice of furniture for such a small space did however. There was chipped paint, stained walls, the table looked like there had been paint on it in one spot, the bathtub was chipped, etc. Mainly cosmetic issues, but to me if I'm paying that amount of money I expect the room to look good. There is so much potential here!
Location. Friendly feel. Comfortable room.
location / comfort / light breakfast
most of the reception staff don't know the meaning of the word smile - larry was great though - most cleaning staff seemed friendly enough
I really have to commend the helpful staff there. I was arriving late, and they really went out of their way to make sure that everything was ready for me, and I had no problems. Apart from that, it was a nice room, with a real New Orleans feel to it. Bed was comfortable, there was a TV, wardrobe, and full private bathroom. This was all great, considering how cheap it was. As nice as many much more expensive hotels I've stayed in.
Can't think of anything.
The cozy and large room, TV
Location - right in front of streetcar stop. Easy to get around the major parts of the city ... day pass is $3 to ride all day. And - at least the bed was comfortable.
Housekeeping was terrible! Waited an hour for my room to be ready, and wasn't made up! Dirty washrag was left in my room TWO NIGHTS in a row. Only one of my 3 pillows had a pillowcase on it. Hotel ran out of clean towels (!!!). Water pressure in shower is nearly non-existent. Age of building with slanted floors & super-thin walls is either charming or annoying, depending upon one's mood. No elevator to take me & my bad knees up to my 2nd floor room with a heavy suitcase - no help offered, either. Sheets were old, stained and sub-standard.
I have stayed at some of the best Casinos, and other high dollar name brand hotels that had sometype of issues. On that note I won't complain about a older historic hotel that has a few blemishes. The hotel is season one so it's to be expected, however perfect spot. You don't need a car. Just jump on the 24 hr trolley and it's like having a limo. Check out the spots around the hotel too. Much cheaper than the tourist area and just as much fun.
This is the best B&B in the area, I'm in the process of relocating from VA to NOLA. This place is great and the staff are very knowledgeable with all things NOLA.
Good price Decent breakfast Good location
Rooms were slightly damp
Staff was nice.
Easy to get to the street car, but had to cab it anyway since the cars were full. Balconies were nice.
Rooms needed an update, big time. Ceilings were peeling, wall paper too. Rooms smelled musty.
It was not clean, not kept up, and not quiet. We had to move twice, and the second room we had was so filled with mold it felt unhealthy. The last room was supposed to be cleaned before we entered into it but was not, and we had to wait a few hours to not only get in but then to get towels, clean pillow cases, and soap. It also was missing the handle on the hot water spigot, and the ac was positioned to blow right onto the bed with little regulation to turn off. I would not stay there given the other choices in the area.
Clean sheets; location to the trolley
This is a want to be "boutique" hotel. I am a detail person and the owner's of this hotel have missed those. The furniture was dusty and looked like it came from a flea market. The decor was from several different decades and made no sense. There was a stain on the "half on the bed" bedskirt. There were four different types of light bulbs in ceiling fan. The bathroom floor tiles were all cracked and loose and the bathtub needed to be refinished so it looked dirty. The shower head was coming off the wall. The staff was an array of people. We asked about parking and was told "to go park on the street among the residence".
This gem sits on fantastic St. Charles Ave in the heart of New Orleans uptown district. Rooms are cozy and immaculate, employees and management strives to make your visit downright homey.
Price, stuff, quality of the room, breakfast possibility, near to french quarter.
Dreadful neighborhood, mouse, cockroaches on the street (not inside).
There were no clean towels, they did not clean the room (three days !!!) we had to empty our own baskets... we could not open the front door and the hotel room with our key.... we asked to clean our room and give us fresh towels (three times) and they did not helped us .... it is a dirty and old fashened placed and we do not recommended this filthy place!!!
Thin walls. But fine
I stayed here for just one night. The house is very clean and comfortable. The location is wonderful! There is great food right next to the Inn and quite a few options. The morning breakfast is perfect and a lot more options than I thought there would be. I read some complains before staying here and was worried. Absolutely unfounded. It is an a perfect area for easy transportation and it is a nice/safe area. Sitting on the porch people watching is quite fun! I will definitely come back here and I am still blown away with how inexpensive this place is. Beyond worth every cent.
The building itself is just stunning, it even has rocking chairs on the front deck so you can sit and watch the street cars roll passed. Room was lovely, not big but definitely not too small. Great shower pressure, plenty of power outlets in the room. Tv was little but has all the good channels. Personal aircon was quiet and effective. Staff were all very friendly and helpful :) good basic breakfast too!
spacious bathroom. Nice outdoors breakfast room. Convenient location
The room had no window. Like prison. Not so good breakfast.
Starting with Melissa at the front desk all the way to the most comfortable bed I've ever been in, everything was awesome! Melissa was so accommodating and understanding as we started bothering her as soon as the doors opened at 7. We had gotten into town very early on our road trip and wanted nothing but a comfy bed and as soon as a room was vacant she organized getting it cleaned and invited us to enjoy the continental breakfast while we waited. Another gentleman gave me some good info about the historical parts and pointed me in the right direction for the plantations. The room was adorable and the eclecticness made me really happy we had skipped the corporate chains. Thank you all for the wonderful stay.
Location in front of street car stop, parking available in the nearby streets, nice staff
Interesting old building close to streetcar stop
Very moderate breakfast
