beautiful fall leaves across the property, onsight restaurant bar makes nighttime drinks/dessert possible, lovely bakery next door
staff professionalism is poor at inn & restaurant (ex: staff engrossed in personal conversations & work complaints, neglecting customer needs), breakfast is very simple (not cooked), hallway was very noisy, waking us at wee hours several times. a stay like this should come at a lower price.
My husband and I got way more than we bargained for. The staff was like family. The food was incredible. The owners were the most wonderful hosts. La Perla is beyond immaculate and the decor of each room (decorated by Anna Maria, the owner) is so warm and tasteful. Alfonso, the owner, is a chef of unbelievable talent. You will not get Italian food like this unless you go to Italy. We can't wait to return!!!!
clean air conditioned I slept like a baby comfortable environment location could not have been better food & espresso were excellent
Food, food, food, clean, staff was especially friendly, flexible, helpful and so welcoming, esp. Anna Maria...we felt right at home!! We really appreciated the fact that they left the breakfast out for late risers as we were travelling far while staying.
Traffic near house was noisy.
Very nice setting with a pool, a nice garden were they grow tomatoes and other veggies. Very friendly owner and staff. Nice room with wooden furniture and a countryside look. Fantastic italian restaurant...the stuffed portobello and the milanese veal chops were the best we had.... We did not expect such an outstanding restaurant. Wow
The dinner we had was wonderful- traditional Italian with a wonderful sauce and espresso for dessert! Fresh tomatoes! There was a nice outdoor sitting area.
The town has little to offer and the Inn is on the main street.
Very clean, comfortable and restaurant food was superb. Rooms were carefully and uniquely decorated. It made our stay interesting.
I liked everything - there was nothing to complain about.
Super-friendly & gracious owners/chef. Charming Country Inn atmosphere & decor.
Road traffic noise.
I think that the people are very responsive to the guest. The rooms are very unique and different in a very good way. I heard from the people in the community that the restaurant is very good. Unfortunately we were not able to sample it due to our schedule. While the rooms face the road through town, the noise was not noticeable with the windows closed and the heating/AC running very quietly. I'm sure we will try their restaurant in the future.
I didn't like people smoking in the bar. The continental breakfast is served to late for travelers. Signage for arrival needs to improve. I would still stay there again!
Beautiful old building, tastefully decorated. Comfortable room and mattress. :)
We arrived late, 10:30pm, restaurant was already closed, nowhere in the area to get anything to eat or drink (although we were told the restaurant was open until 11pm when we called that day). Owner offered us bread. At the continental breakfast, no staff was around. Although there were pots of coffee and decaf, there was no hot water for tea. There was a nice selection of pastries, muffins, cereal and fresh whole fruits. We left our room key at the desk since there was no one around to check us out. The fixtures on the bathroom sink need to be changed, the faucet handles are the old clear plastic knobs, but they were black with mold on the inside. Everything else was spotless.
The staff was very personable and the room was beyond a shadow of doubt spotlessly clean and sumtuously decorated. The restaurant could be described as serving the finest gourmet entres available within a 20 mile radius!
Limited number of "touristy" attractions in the town of Averill park.
