Pleasant property not far from John Wayne airport. Less than a mile from Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve--great for a walk. Comfortable bed. Complementary shuttle to places within 3 miles of hotel.

The scenery is magnificent. There are model ships on display, a beautiful fireplace in the entrance of the hotel, an open courtyard in the middle of the hotel, a pool, spa and cabanas in another middle section of the hotel, a fireplace designed heater with holographic image of a crackling fire, exceptionally comfortable pillows with medium thickness. The only downside was that my boyfriend and I both woke up with extreme lower back pain because the bed sunk-in in the middle. I still give it top ratings for everything else.

We requested an upstairs room in a quiet location, and we received just that. The hotel and on-site restaurant staff were wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor dining in the lovely courtyard.

The room was clean and comfortable , when we first arrived and wasn’t greeted on a friendly matter, one of your employees decided to put us on the top floor way to the back of the hotel in a room for smoking apparently. Well if the hotel was fully booked ok .. but it was not ! I called the front desk the girl that answered my call was nice enough to exchange our room out and put us up front. She also brought the key up so it would be easier for me to make it seeing that I am handicap. She apologized for the guy that did put us in that room that smelled of smoke after I requested a non-smoking room as well.

Had a great Suite with Whirlpool bathtub. Large room with lots of parking around the whole building. Lots of cool pictures and model boats everywhere. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Looks like they all really enjoy their job at Ayres. Keep up the good work!

This place has a really friendly vibe. The staff were sincerely friendly, and visible, any time you needed to ask a question, they were happy to answer, focused on us, and the place was immaculate in the common areas and in the room. The hotel is in a residential area of Costa Mesa next to the business area. So it has fast food, and gas stations nearby and anything a family might need close by. It is not 5 star luxury, oozing with luxury features, but it is up to date, and very well maintained. We went to be close to a clinic where a family member had surgery. It was a perfect quiet get away.
