no ceiling to rooms so too noisy WiFi worked only once in almost 4 days
The kitchen is nice
Besides that the rooms are extremly small, they are not fully closed and have no window, this is a huge dorm separated by toilet walls.
nice staff great position pretty clean and modern facility (inside, not the area around!!!)
I stayed there two nights and didnt get sleep at all!!!! Rooms have no ceilings and you can hear every rustling, snoring, voices... There were couple of guys staying at this hotel during my stay and they were just hardly ignoring the other guests, they came back to hotel at 1 o clock in the morning and were acting like there was nobody else, they were playing the music, talking and laughing, banging the door every minute... they shut up at approx 3:30 in the morning... the other night one guy left his cell phone in his room and left and the alarm was ringing 50 minutes!!! It was just awful! The second thing, there was no wifi at all!!! You pay almost 90 dollars per night in this tiny little single room and you dont even get connected???? The answer at the desk was "technicians are already on the way" and nothing happened, 2 nights!!! It was just very bad experience and I would never ever sleep there again!
Design, clean, wifi everywhere. Good connection to Manhattan.
Metro right behind the wall.
Check in was easy. Front desk was helpful. Enough bathrooms so I could get showered w no wait. Good thing when travelling for business. People were nice. Would recommend.
Snorers. Walls don't go up to ceiling for rooms. Might be that way for all hostels. Desk had ear plugs.
wi - fi bathroom was clean
not enough space in the room too many people in the same small room
Wifi was good because I could book a different hotel for the rest of my trip
Put me in a 2 bed shared dorm room despite the fact I booked a private room, with no warning until I arrived. The other reviews are right the walls don't reach the roof so in reality it's like you're in a 50 bed dorm. I had earplugs, eye mask and sleeping pills and still could hardly sleep with the noise of other people and the trains. Seriously, stay somewhere else.
Lobby room is good and the kitchen is big!
Small rooms, like little dressing rooms with no walls! We could hear everything! No privacy but the lobby is good! Showers are good but you could see trough the shower walls! Too expensive!!!
I loved the cleanliness. Everything was very modern and comfortable. The hostel is also near the subway so it was easy to get to and from all our places of interest.
The noises at night. Since the rooms are not completly closed off we could hear everything our neighbor was doing and I mean everything !
The fact it was cheap and clean and close to the subway. I know that many cheap places to stay in NY City are dirty and have bedbugs. The kitchen/dining area was good and well fitted out although you have to go outside and in through another door to get to it.
The room was basically a box with no windows so a bit claustrophobic and you could hear everything from the other boxes, sorry rooms, as the walls did not reach the ceiling ... presumably to allow air in. But it was still hot at night. But if you have an eye mask and ear plugs you can sleep fine. Limited bathroom facilities for the number of people staying there.
The train stopped 10 meters away. Impossible to sleep soundly, even with earplugs. Smell of disinfectant everywhere. Price was cheap for the area, I suppose, but this was really bare-bones.
The staff, the bedroom, the kitchen
The noise of the trains passing near the Hotel.
Location very close to Marcy Ave subway, value for money.
It was very noisy. The two-bed dorms are in fact pods (without roofs) in a large 64-bedded room. Some of the guests were very rude, talking loudly at 1am and listening to music without headphones in the dorm, rather than the social area. The showers and toilets are made of glass meaning you can't take a pee with any privacy. Attracts a certain kind of young person, and not really back packers.
Great value for money
Clean bathroom and rooms, free Wifi, good connection with Manhattan
No breakfast is served and no possibilities to eat in the neighborhood, the neighborhood isn't very safe, a lot of noise (located at subway station)
Air conditioning didn't work so the room was so hot. The metro is passing in front of the hostel, i couldn't sleep and i always woke up at midnight. Top of the room is open so sometimes you can't sleep because of the sound.
location is good. it was clean
they should hire an acoustic engineer because the noise problem is not only from open ceilings but a lot of noise transmitted from the floor. A lot of steel construction used hence, you can hear a lot from 5 or 6 rooms away. beside the noise problem, air conditioning in the rooms was poor.
I liked how clean the building was, but especially the bathroom. When you stay somewhere that has a clean bathroom, you feel more relaxed. Other users are considerate to keep quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a communal living space.
This was my first time stating in a hotel/ hostel but I found it was more hostel than hotel. The rooms are very small so it is more suitable for light travellers, rather than people with suitcases. Be aware that the rooms are not walked from ceiling to floor (apparently this is an American thing?) it is set up like cubicles in a changing room. It's still private but it means that you can hear everything that happens on your floor. No lift but it's only one floor. Not would help to have a notice on the website as we were travelling with heavy suitcases.
Staff were friendly and helpful
showers were see through and train was directly outside my window making for a noisy night.
Quite a good crowd. No one was loud or impolite even before quiet hours.
Cheap price, clean bathrooms although not much space to store things, good location very near subway station, friendly staff
Small rooms no space to put personal stuff, lockers too small to be useful, no walls between rooms only partitions running up to around 2 feet from the ceiling sometimes quite noisy, bad ventilation so rooms were quite stuffy
I liked the freedom I felt moving in for that night. Just as regular as a room with myself exceot with common respect for another person that I am sharing the room with. This hotel fit for me, I hope it will for you too.
They offer a security box, which I didn't feel the need to use, was small.
I like ti was clean, I really value that.
Noisy, sounds from the Street could easily leak into the building. WI-FI, it just didn't work, the passwords provided din't work, Only one network worked for a while and then even after successful authentication, I could not reach the web.
clean, kind staff, situation is ok.
noisy during the night (neighbers, subways....) WIFI is very weak...........
I experienced a mixed bag with this place. The lack of floor to ceiling walls I kind if get, it would have felt like sleeping in a hot box otherwise but it was definitely odd. Having a lack of privacy is something you get used to when staying in hostels but this was a but much. Hearing everything said in your floor in every room as well as frosted glass being the only divider between toilet and shower cubicals made me uncomfortable. The place is immaculate, the staff were great but I'm not sure I would stay there again...
