Free parking, and the restaurant
Too far from the Crystal Palace
Noises they should put families with babies and children away from elevators
The hotel is very clean and quiet!!! Great view of the city. I'll definetly book more stays!!!
Decent place for an over-night stay.
The hotel is older and the pillows were hard as a rock.
The room was quiet and spacious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. You had to swipe your room key for the elevator to go up.
The room had a stale smell when we first walked in and each time we came in after being out for a while. When the AC came on, it smelled like an ashtray was dumped into our room. Like someone forgot to change the air filter from back when it was okay to smoke in the room.
Free parking Free WiFi Room Clean Restaurant Just a stop for us between San Francisco and Vegas. The hotel was very nice, a very big building like any Marriott, with all services you are looking for. We booked just a room, but we tried the restaurant cause we were tired for the long way and I didn't see any other place to eat or drink something around the hotel. Very good dinner and a not expensive check.
Bakersfield (but isn't a bad feedback to the hotel) Staff didn't explain us how the elevator works. I have to admit is not simple!
The friendly staff and the bartenders at the bar.
customer service was awesome. all the staff was very professional and very friendly
even though I rated the hotel excellent the biggest disappointment was the comfortness of the bed it wasn't horrible but was far from great
Staff friendliness and helpful
I expected a much higher quality of food. I ate at the bar, private room in the restarant, and in room. The food quality was poor, and tasteless. I got a French dip the first day at the bar and it was full of beef gristle, absolutely terrible.
The staff was excellent. The room was beautiful. All appeared clean. The restaurant downstairs was really good.
Was awakened by a group fight outside by the pool. Our room over-looked the pool and patio area. Girls and guys were yelling and fist fighting using foul language; hitting each other, over-turning patio furniture. The fight went on and on for about 45 minutes. Never did see police at the scene. Very difficult to sleep. I told the front desk the next morning and they said they were aware. I thought a small discount would be in line for the sleep intrusion. Also found a used dirty towel in the clothes closet. Again, the staff was not concerned.
The bathroom fixtures were fragile and plastic - they worked, but they were flimsy. The door hook on the closet was broken.
The antique stores and restaurants were nearby.
People were great. Facility was perfect for what we needed. Service was great.
There is nothing I did not feel that I objected to.
The only thing that I liked was that it was close to our event.
We reserved a room with two beds and there was only one,I talked to front desk and they said that they were going to send us a full bed and it never happened so my husband had to sleep on the floor the first night. We just had a discount of $9 dollars for that.
First of all my reservations were prepaid 4 months in advance, by the time I reach the front desk to check in I was told that they hadn't had the update from booking.com and have to wait for our rooms, second I requested 2 bed rooms and I had given a king bed rooms stating that first come first serve and they were out of 2 bed rooms
Comfortable bed, close to train station and race finish line. Staff is nice, they let us check out 45 minutes late (our train went back after 1pm).
I came for a half marathon, and I needed a rest for a really early morning get-up. The windows damped the noise of the trains well enough, but some stupid drunk people were yelling (very loud, you know when you cannot decide sometimes if they are happy or angry) ahead of the hotel. Finally had to call the room service to stop that before midnight. After arriving I noticed if there were some wet pee stains around the desk. Later I saw pets in the hotel, so there must have been someone with an effing pet there, and it peed there. Lastly, after got back from the race I took a shower, and left my clothes next to the toilet. While showering some mild water leak made my clothes much more wet than they were before I laid them there. Next time I'll watch out more. Before leaving I noticed a homeless women walking into the hall's restroom. None of these hit my threshold though. Overall it's not a bad place. Drunk people could be anywhere (although I'd be happy if the staff auto-handles them and make them shut up around 10pm), and for the other things I'll watch out more. Next year I maybe book here again. Don't think other places are better.
front desk was efficient and accommodating. The room air conditioner was a perfect temperature. The bed was very comfy, I slept like a rock! Room was clean enough for me.
The pool area (and beyond) was a disaster at night left over from the day activities. Would have been nice to sit out and relax outdoors before bed but it was way too trashed out like the front of a 7-11.
They had the BEST staff! Friendly and super helpful.
Staff very friendly and helpful;everyone wAs welcoming and appeared tobevommitted to maje my stay enjoyable!
The breakfast was disappointing. Server was great but offering was very basic and unimaginative.
I liked the location and the layout of the hotel. The staff was great and we got help with our luggage from the gentleman that checked us in. Room Service was wonderful. Service was prompt and the waiter was very polite and my daughter enjoyed it. I didn't order anything. If I didn't have a Doctor's appointment to go to, we would have slept longer in those comfy beds!
For some reason I was charged before I checked in, even though I had opted for the pay later reservation. The hotel said the charge would change to the actual amount once I was ready to check out and the other charge would disappear. I checked with Booking.com before the date of my reservation and they contacted Marriot but their Accounting Department was closed. Then when I got there I was told the other charge would go away. When the charge was still on there, in addition to the correct charge for our stay and dinner charge, I called and talked to a representative. I guess it was Corporate because the correct charge was listed as Bakersfield Marriot. Anyway it was Aries something or other and they said it was a mistake and I would need to go to my bank to dispute the charge. I did this and the money was credited back to my account. I'm not sure how this happened, it wasn't Booking.com and Marriott in Bakersfield didn't seem to know about it but it was a hassle to an otherwise pleasant experience.
Modern look, spacious reception and bar area. Big clean. In my opinion one of the best hotels in Bakersfield
