The room that we booked and misled to upgrade to an executive suite was the most disgusting room I have ever seen in my traveling life. It needs a paint job, the carpet was nasty dirty, a huge table for the flat screen TV, it should be mounted on the wall, a large pilot light in the fireplace that looks really unusual, you shouldn't be able to see a pilot light. For the price, it is way overpriced for this room. We obviously complained about this terrible condition of the room and the front desk clerk suggested that we upgrade to the rooms across the old rooms on another building for $90 more a night, we asked to check out those rooms and lo and behold it was a new building with nice rooms and view and of course, we took it. In conclusion, I know that mgmt. knows that the terrible condition that whole old side is, and they get u there and if u r not happy, they show u the nicer building and charge u more for it, what a setup.
A great location, close to the beach, Balboa pier and restaurants.
