afternoon clerk know nothing about the area, very "tired" facility. open wall at bathroom lite switch, generally very poor condition! Hard to find. Poor value for the money - no breakfast no coffee, never again
All cloth items were old and worn. Also, no "do not disturb" sign - had to tell maid directly to leave our room alone. Also, some colorful neighbors!
The location was great, close to public transportation and food. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was updated. Front desk friendly and helpful.
Where do i start? They don't have enough lightbulbs i guess, because the staff keeps changing freaking lightbulbs between empty and occupied rooms. Cigarette burns in the bed sheets. Housekeeping is below mediocre. Stay away if you can.
Pet room, but no good area close by to walk the dog.
But everything is very, very dated - from the old school monster TV to the furniture which has tears, and the carpets which have permanent stains. Overhead light full of bugs. That kind of thing.
Reasonably clean. Fridge and microwave in the room.
Didn't expect freight train passing so close, but they were there first, not the motel
Beds were comfortable and rate reasonable
Most of my stay the wifi was snail slow at best. Very few channels on tv.
Liked location and price. Plenty of free parking.
Noise from nearby interstate.
Convenient location. Low rates.
Blanket on one of 2 queen beds missing. Lamp on bedside table had no outlet to plug it into, so useless
Conveniently located and priced fairly
Free wi fi , refrigerator and microwave in room
The cleanliness was bad there was bugs all over couldn't get comfortable. Bath room was terribly dirty.
I liked the location to where I was.
Colony of ants waiting to share my food.
It was creepy as hell, and dirty, the walls had spots of blood not the cleanest, the outside of the motel definitely tells ya what the inside will be like, it seems like some one definitely died in that room It was eery, The outside pool is out of service, Outdated interiors and grungy rooms. Nasty
Location to Portland Convention Center was not too bad
Clean, good wifi-connection, not far from the citycenter
The Banfield is an excellent value for the money. The rooms are a little dated but very clean and comfortable. If your standards require that 5 star experience, The Banfield certainly isn't for you. But if you are budget conscious and want a place to stay that offers affordability, good value, and a great location, keep The Banfield in mind.
Room was filthy. There were funky, gross spots that looked like poop smears on the bathroom door and door jam. The rest of the room was comparable, but different colored spots. This made it difficult to feel comfortable sleeping in the bed.
Friendly staff that gave good restaurant recommendations. They were very pet-friendly. That is a huge perk. Great location.
Bring your earplugs - lots of traffic goes by this area.
Clean, well-kept with all the basics you need. Even gave me a toothbrush when they learned I had forgotten mine and helped with directions.
It smelt quite bad, there were nicotine stains on the walls, burn holes on our sheets, the carpet was quite unhygienic looking. And it appeared that there were quite a few more permanent residents there.
It was cheap and they had made attempt to keep it clean. Pretty good location. Excellent shower. There were no obvious rodents, roaches or critters.
There wasn't a swimming pool, there's not been one for years. Pictures of it should be removed. It was a big factor when we booked this place.
The hotel should have notified us that it was under construction to convert it from a smoking hotel to a non-smoking hotel, as we were notified the next day after checking in. The room we got placed in, we were later told, was the next room slated to be worked on. So the room (#53) had multiple patched walls waiting to be painted, huge hole in the bottom of the bathroom door, missing screws in the bathroom door hardware, so the door didn't lock, no light bulbs at all in the vanity and the power socket closest to the bed (for charging phones) had no power. The shower has a hot & cold single knob that just spun in a circle so it was hard to find "hot." And the shower curtain had mold. We took pictures of everything. We were seriously considering leaving after we checked in, but having paid for the rooms in full, we felt stuck. So we went down to the local store and bought shower cleaner with bleach to clean the shower and sink ourselves to be sure it was clean. The bed and towels were definitely clean, so we didn't feel like the overall room was filthy or we would have left. And we are not the type looking for a 4 Star luxury treatment. But the room we were presented and stuck with should NEVER have been rented out in it's current condition. Lastly, the site mentioned a pool and wifi. Again, we did not choose the facility for the pool. But the pool has a black tarp over it and pooled up water on top perfect for breeding mosquitos. And the wifi was so slow, it was impossible to do anything on it. So we had to resort to using our phone dataplan and make a hot spot to do work on our computer. Wifi is something I look for when traveling. So overall, not a good experience. Would not go back nor recommend to others due to all the lisleading information. Again, I have pictures of everything.
Located close to where we needed to be. But the site totally oversold this facility.
We were meeting oir fily at this hotel (after a funeral!) to drop off our things and consolidate cars. Our family got there before us and were waiting in the parking lof, and the staff informed them that they would call the cops on them if they didn't leave, despite being informed of the situation. When we arrived, we were harassed by the front desk staff, insisting that everyone (our family that was meeting us there) present their ID's and have them photocopied, despite the fact they were just waiting for us to get changed.
Everything was fresh and clean. Excellent location close to food, stores, entertainment, and highway. Well-maintained building. Friendly staff. Much better than you'd expect from one of the most affordable motels in the entire Portland area. If you want 5-star amenities, go pay $150+/night at a luxury hotel. But if your in-room needs are simple and you'd rather spend your money on entertainment in town, it's excellent. Comfy bed with fresh sheets, clean bathroom with fresh towels, mini-fridge, desk, TV with basic channels, good heat and air conditioning.
When we checked in there was a sign at the front desk and handwritten on it said that you had to pay for at least one hour to stay in a room. It made us a little uneasy about the location. We had to ask for and go get more toilet tissue and cups.
You got what you paid for, the rooms were clean and it was quiet. We would probably go back if we just needed a night to sleep.
