The lawn chairs provided so we could sit out on the lawn... very relaxing. The location was central to other places we visited. Not being able to open any windows. The strong perfumed smell of cleaning products.

The gentleman that checked us in and out of the motel was very pleasant. I only saw him the two times. The room wasn't very appealing to the eyes. The middle blanket on the bed had stains on it. The window on one of the walls was smashed on the outside. It was alarming to pull back the drapes and see it smashed as it was. The room was just bare. No soaps, like you see at other places, not even to wash your hands. No shampoo. No phone book. Things like that.

While this is a traditional motel the standard of comfort and value for money was very good. several good eating options close by.

Nice cheap to stay when you don't want to be right down town at The Dells. Room kinda had a weird smell,...but it was probably closed for the winter and opened for the tourist season. There was a great grocery store within walking distance.

This motel was very conveniently located near Wisconsin Dells. There was no blanket on the bed, just a sheet and the cover that I would normally remove since these don't get cleaned with the rest of the bedding. There were cobwebs everywhere, the bathroom was grungy and the room smelled bad. The window right at the head of the bed was broken which was a bit nerve wracking. It was a double pane window, though, and the inner pane was intact. The a/c had been left on high so when we checked into our room it was like an icebox. The floors weren't clean. I found things like a coffee stir stick on the floor and long hairs in the linens and bedding. I wouldn't let my child remove his socks. Lastly, the person appeared to be living in the room next door. There was a ripped up chair and some other items sitting outside their door that had obviously been there for some time.

I have stayed at numerous hotels in this price range and usually have been pleased. It is expected that the building and rooms will be older and worn which does not bother me. However I do expect them to be clean, which I cannot say of the Spinning Wheel. When we initially arrived there were multiple large stains on the sheets on the bed that were very apparent. One looked like it might have been blood. Management did change them at our request, but it was definantly a turn off. I cannot believe they would actually use those sheets...they should have been thrown out. The shower had a lot of hair stuck to the tile wall from previous guests and it was apparent some corners of the bathroom like behind the door had not been cleaned in a long time. Room had a musty smell and there were at least half a dozen flies in the room when we arrived. If I was looking to stay in the area again I would rather pay more for a clean room at a different establishment than stay at the Spinning Wheel again.
