The hotel's location is perfect, very safe and quiet. Very short walk to Dupont circle, which is a real center. The bar under the hotel is perfect, very delicious meal and no sound came up to the room. The bed was the comfiest I ever slept and the room smelled so fresh and clean.
staff were friendly.
Good location, close to subway and Georgetown
The noise in the room. The hotel has a bar for shows and stand up comedy. My room was at secund floor and it was very noisy
There is no laundry service so you have to take your clothes to the local laundrette. But what let the Baron down this time is that the internet didn't work for two whole days and there was no communication whatsoever to explain.
The location is adjacent to many restos and cafes and convenient stores. It is in Dupont Circle area and not too far from Dulles Airport where I had to depart from the next morning. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is a bit small but understandable for a budget hotel.
The elevator is horrible. Too narrow and has double sliding doors that you must hold with your two hands and feet to enable you to get in before it closes! Breakfast is not advisable (5 dollar charged but you'll get very minimum choice).
the location was great and the staff were very helpful and courteous-especially a young man named Sheldon who very patiently gave us directions to the Tanger Outlets. Also the downstairs bar was a great place to finish up after a long day of sightseeing etc
there was very little to dislike about this Hotel
Location, staff, bar and quiet area
Old rooms, basic breakfast and that lift
Location & Wi-Fi is worth appreciating.
Service orientation is missing.
Very close to Embassy Row on Massachusetts Avenue. Shares entrance with a fine Tavern. Helpful receptionist.
The building shakes when the laundry room goes into spin mode. Renovations and soundproofing would help.
close to everything
the rooms were tolerable. beds were poor. rooms very small. Pub waiters were not very well trained, poor service
Felt like I was in a brothel
Can't believe no wi-fi in USA hotel.....
The location is just great, and if you like beer it is even better. The rooms were basic but clean, and really appropriate for what I needed.
The continental breakfast is lousy- not worth the $5.
15% off in the restaurant
elevator operated manually
The service was good
The matares could be better
Cleanness Location Staff
Loud music in the weekend up. We couldn't sleep.
Room was small but enough for solo travelers. Towels and other things were in place and clean. It is nice to stay a day or two but more than that might be boring.
The overall location and the tavern were wonderful. Great vibe with a European feel! Perfect for couples or solo travelers who don't care to hang out in their room all day and just want a nice clean bed and a great location.
Good localisation Really clean bathroom
AC was extremely loud (couldn't sleep while it was working) Rooms were very tiny Breakfast (only toast-bread jam and philadelphia cheese plus old donuts)
Loved the location. The food served in the bar was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. Dwight, on reception was so helpful. He advised us on everything we needed to know. We were situated central so it was easy to find your way anywhere you wanted to go. If we return to Washington in future for a break. We would definitely stay at the Baron.
The saying "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. Although the room was spotlessly clean, a few home comforts wouldn't go amiss. Not somewhere you would stay for a vacation but definitely adequate for a couple of nights. A little TLC to the entrance would go a long way as it is a bit dark and gloomy as you enter.
the cheapest available hotel.
Noisy. No curtains to windows, only blinds. Thus, the light and noise from outside were not dampened. Too pricy for what i got.
Its a nice small-cheap hotel with everything close by, walking distance to the Dupont Circle Metro station which connects you to every part of the city. And walking distance to the George Town which is a great place to hangout. The hotel has a great pub, its really happening after office hours.
The Lift in the hotel is really old. Bathrooms are small too but fine. And if you have heavy luggage then from the road to enter the hotel then there are some steps to take.
The Baron is a small but comfortable hotel in the NW quarter of Washington DC in a great location just a 5 minute walk from the Big Bus stop (no. 35) at the corner of P Street and Rock Creek Parkway and a 5 minute walk from the metro at Dupont Circle (via Q Street). I was checked in by a helpful receptionist and allocated a room on the third floor at the front of the hotel and with a view of the church opposite. The room was functional, with a comfortable double bed, desk, flat screen TV and importantly, air con, as the temperature reached 89 during my stay. The bathroom was equipped with a walk in shower, hairdryer and a good selection of quality toiletries and like the bedroom itself was very clean. The hotel also provides a basic breakfast at a minimal cost, which is served downstairs in the bar. The hotel also boasts a Tavern, perfect for that relaxing drink or two after a day’s sightseeing. The hotel seemed a little dated but was very comfortable, clean and ticked all the boxes for me and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
