눉The staff was really unfriendly and unhelpful. When we checked in, our fee was not known and we had to tell the man at the rezeption, how much our rooms cost.
On the very first night of my stay I realized, that the door lock didn't work. I went down to tell this and the guy came up, looked at it and told me, he couldn't do anythin tonight. He couldn't give me another room, since they were fully booked (ok, this can happen). No excuse, no offering to fix it the next day or anything. Just the suggestion, that I could share rooms with my colleague (her room had only one bed). I insisted in having the locked fixed the next day or would want to change rooms (as he had told me, they would have free rooms the next day). He agreeded - but nothing happened. When I returned the next night, it was still the same, the lock still didn't work. Since the same unhelpful person was at the reception, I decided, not to discuss this again and instead to block the door at night with furniture.
Breakfast is lousy, being prepared in the dark bar of the Hotel, which has no windows at all and barely electric light. It is only offered until 9 am (which nobody told me, so when I came down at 9:15, there was nothing left). They charge extra 5$ per day and person for the breakfast, although we were told when checking in, that it was included in the price, but we wouldn't get it back if we didn't use it.
The elevator is really old, you have to close two very heavy doors to get in or out, and I had trouble getting it starting several times.
You can stay in this Hotel, if you don't need breakfast and there are no problems coming up. If you find anything else, I would definetely advise you not to book the Baron Hotel.
눇Good location near Dupont Circle. Rooms were clean, the bathrooms pretty newly renovated, the beds comfortable.
