The location and suite.
Suite was beautiful and the bed was fantastic
The Barrows a house has been completely refurbished in the past two years- very well done . The restaurant and bar are very good. Breakfast at the sister hotel, Dorset Inn , was fantastic !
While I was upgraded to a larger room, I was In cottage in the bac of property- no or else was tree so I felt a bit to isolated as a single person.
A beautiful location.
The hotel was lovely, with excellent bar and restaurant
We were upgraded to a lovely suite with real log fire.
Cottages were neat and updated. Food was good at the restaurant.
We were sent to the dorset inn for breakfast in the day we departed for home. We had eaten dinner there the previous evening and enjoyed the food and the friendly service; however, the morning breakfast staff were beyond ridiculous. We sat nearly 10 minutes before were even offered coffee (not because it was busy but because the server was sorting menus and preparing new tables). More mature guests were greeted almost immediately but some how we waited. We also waited about 15 minutes before our plates were cleared after we had finished. Ended our trip on a sour note and surprising given the excellent service we received there the night prior.
House old and creaky but clean and well maintained. Location was the best we've seen as a small Vermont town .... although minimal shops and quite a few houses were guest houses. Hotel staff, food and facilities excellent. Breakfast required a short walk down the road to another charming Vermont home. Within an hours drive lots to see.
Nothing I can remember.
We loved the room we stayed in. The room was neat and clean, and the grounds were impeccable. Additionally the restaurant was fabulous in their eclectic and delicious dishes. Overall the trip was enjoyable.
Unlike a traditional B&B it was less cozy than what I am used to experiencing. It felt more like a boutique hotel that I would experience in New York.
Rooms quality , style and decor
Too.close to.road and car noise
Cottage style, friendly staff. Helped accommodate bikers.
Lack of cell and Internet connections. Breakfast wasn't until 8:30.
The out side appearance...I Only spent one night and moved to their Dorset Inn.
Too sterile inside
Updates were nicely done but not all finished. Breakfasts at the Dorset Inn very nice.
could lock room from inside but not from outside. Restaurant business at night leaves littleparking for the guests. Air conditioner right next to one side of bed and noisy but no other way to get air circulating. Ceiling fan would have been better.
Gorgeous inn with luxury renovations, high end bedding, a large hip bar, good restaurant, nice pool, and wonderful outdoor features. The owner was friendly and helpful. This is a fantastic place that I highly recommend to families, couples, and adventure travelers wanting an unpretentious and hip place that is fully renovated yet still historic. Walking distance to playhouse, the Dorset Inn, and a cute general store that has wonderful wines and baked goods.
