It's on the bay side so if you want to be on the beach this isn't for you. We loved the view from the balcony and having a little kitchen was convent.
Staff was great, coffee was fresh, and the dock by the bay was unreal. No complaints at all.
This motel has a wonderful and friendly staff. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome. My room was very clean, comfortable and smelled great. The kitchen had an extra large refrigerator and oven. The room was beautifully decorated. The location is great. It is in walking distance to the beach. It has a pool if you just want to hang out at the motel. I was pleasantly surprised by all the extras. It is definitely FOUR STARS and so much more!
Bay view. cleanliness quiet location nearby businesses good outside lighting at night
outside entrances, no lobby
Convenient location. Great proximity to beaches, boardwalk, restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff. Stocked kitchenette - unexpected at that price. Nice pool and sandy waterfront area and pier. Surprisingly good coffee in room.
My room had ants, and I saw a baby roach, which sadly made me nervous to cook anything in the well stocked kitchenette. Although they obviously keep the place clean, it needs a facelift.
Staff were very helpful with each of our questions. The kitchen was small but well stocked for fixing meals in our room. We would definitely come back. We would highly recommend it.
Beautiful sunsets if you get a room on the Bay. Close to tthe DQ ,Bar and Pizza. Cape Henlopen has some great bike trails around Gordon's Pond. Away from the commercial bustle but close enough for access.
No place to lock the bikes, 12% tax on the room rental.
Large clean room. Good amenities and free wifi. Nice view of the Bay.
Dewey beach. A mediocre town does not compare with Lewes, rehoboth or Bethany.
Liked the in room kitchen. Close to the beach with ample parking. Quiet neighborhood but close to Main Street.
The refrigerator tended to freeze everything with a broken shelf and not a good seal. Full size beds were a bit small and decor was dated.
Best location to watch the sun set over the bay. Be sure to book the bayside where we watched a blue heron strut along the shore and catch his morning and evening meals. Two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. Great location.
No elevators. So book the first or second floor but not the third. I don't recommend the poolside.
A lovely bay view from our balcony is breathtaking at sunset. A blue heron is feasting on minnows a few yards away. The hotel is located two blocks from the Atlantic side of Dewey and right on the bayside.
No elevators. So we requested the second floor.
The ladies at the front desk were great! We loved the pool and the motel's great location, near everything we needed. We walked everywhere with no trouble at all.
The housekeeping staff never cleaned our room (we stayed 2 nights) but that was okay, we weren't that messy and still had clean towels available.
Fair price, clean place, enjoyed our stay
No breakfast :(
The staff was so friendly and treated you like you were family.....very helpful..The room was extraordinarily clean....We had a bayside room, and let me tell you, the view was SPECTACULAR!! I will never stay anywhere else when I am at the beach!! Bay Resort Motel ROCKS
The prices were good, it is right on the bay and right across the road from the ocean. It was a close drive to the outlet malls and tons of restaurants.
We found a pair of socks (not ours) in the room kinda under the bed..Also found a gatorade top under the other bed.......we didn't drink any gatorade. .....
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Their interest was sincere. We had a bay side room that was clean and the view was amazing. The pool was a very nice size and clean.
Roomy, great staff, convenient location.
Pool closes at night.
Like the closeness to the beach and restaurants. Very clean and quiet. Would definitely come back again
The desk staff treated us like family.
Friendly staff, pool located in great spot plenty of sun . Next visit we will go Bayside hubby loves to fish .
I really don't have anything negative to say.
What a great find! We traveled very last minute for Labor Day weekend and found this hotel on Trip Advisor. It is situated on the Bay (hence the name) side of Dewey Beach which meant the view of the sunset from our balcony on the 3rd floor was spectacular. We met three families who vacation together every year at the Resort and take the same rooms on the first floor. The small beach front with gazebos and chairs, and long dock into the water is perfect for families and fishing. The staff is hilarious and very helpful. It is a quick two block walk to the main beach. Woody's is nearby for dinner and Sunrise is nearby for breakfast.
This is Dewey Beach which is notorious for being the place where 20 somethings go to party. The Bottle and Cork and several other venues are within one block and everyone there was having a great time (we are old). The resort is far enough away and the rooms facing the bay really can't hear the music. Restaurant/bars on the bay did have an audible bass (but hey this is Dewey Beach and it is Labor Day so what do you expect?) The Resort did have patrons of all ages, and the 20 somethings on our floor were loud at 2 am as they staggered to bed, but we have kids their age so it just made us feel at home.
I'm a frequent visitor to Dewey Beach and never stayed here before. It offers a new perspective…sunsets are a treat. If you want quiet, don't stay on the pool side - choose the bay side. Dewey looks better than ever.
Balcony is quite small, pool is often noisy with kids having fun. At the height of the season one should expect that.
I've stayed here multiple times and no stay has compared to my last where I was in room 311 (view from top floor overlooking the bay). Had no clue they had dock access/mini beach. Pool is mediocre but the view/room amenities made a total experience difference!
1 parking spot/room on holiday weekends. There was some left over trash behind the bed side table, a little baby cockroach that was on top of the toilet the last day.
Close to the beach. The pier at the bay was nice. The kids enjoyed crab fishing.
Shower curtain was moldy and there was hair in the bathtub drain when we got there. Our ipads could not pick up a wi-fi signal. Pictures on website are very misleading about room size. As a family of 4, we were very cramped.
From the evennig we checked in to the morning we left everyone could not have been nicer. The evening we checked in the staff went out of their way to help carry our bags to the rm seeing that we were on the 2nd floor and my husband is handicapped.chris the manger also went out of his way to help us.
