In San Diego’s Little Italy and just over a mile from the Gaslamp Quarter, the Urban Boutique Hotel features guest rooms with free Wi-Fi. A free continental breakfast is served daily.
Score from 215 reviews Very good
The hotel was close to Little Italy and the port area.
Breakfast was limited in the choices you had.
Big rooms and comfortable environment, with helpful staff and airport shuttle.
They were renovating the ground floor when I was there which wasn't so bad but didn't know when I booked. The whole hotel probably needs an overhaul as it has an 'old' feel, but with big, clean, comfortable rooms it is fine. While pretty close to central San Diego being a bit out from the centre there are a lot of homeless people on the streets around, and I think solo female travellers or families may find it a bit off putting coming back at night or late as while I had no problems it could be intimidating. (Not a hotel problem, but one common to much of California of course).
friendly personnel good rooms nice gym (at Broadway) free Airport shuttle
Location. A great room with a view on the ocean. Most acceptable breakfast that was included in the price. Free shuttle to the airport.
The checking-in procedure a bit confused. Had the impression that staff was new and not too experienced.
really enjoyed stay, very close to restaurants in Little Italy and hop on off trolley bus room great and staff very pleasant and helpful
thought the breakfast was only fair
Prime location, short walk to Gaslamp. Came to San Diego for a conference and found this hotel to comfortable and convenient to get around downtown and great restaurants in Little Italy.
Friendly and helpful staff, great location
The excellent situation within easy reach of waterfront and Little Italy Restaurants. Also close to station with trolley service to various places.
Television system erratic. Cooked breakfast repetitive.
The staff was great. The room was nice and clean with fantastic view. We enjoyed staying there.
The food was OK but nothing special.
Loved the location, the facility, the breakfast.
Paying for parking.
Great location-easy walk to the bay. Spacious and clean rooms. Basic but complete breakfast. Free airport shuttle to boot.
Just began renovating so right now lobby feels cramped--the plans look like it will be very nice once complete
carpeting in room
Comfortable room. Good price. Free breakfast. Airport shuttle. View from room
Bit of a walk to downtown / gaslamp. "Bayside" is pushing it a bit (3 blocks away)
We had a great view.
Staff was not helpful at all. Free breakfast was all lukewarm processed food and not very good at all. Very poor selection at that.
Very comfortable, clean and extra aminities, even with the remodeling.
5 minute walk to Santa Fe Amtrak and Metro station, Close to Seafront.
Restaurant closed Weekend Evenings
Excellent Location midway bet restaurants, shops and waterfront
Location. Facilities. Great size room.
Good location, near to a trolley station
Location, cleanliness, value for money, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast.
The hotel have many advantages: good sized rooms, good decor, breakfast is ok but not exciting, location near Little Italy neighborhood. Parking convenient at a good price.
A lot of noise from traffic on nearby street, confusing because the area is very quiet.
Everything was perfect
Connection lost once or twice
Close proximity to public transportation. Clean and comfortable.
Hotel with a view of the bay but 2 blocks away. Very small balcony with no room or chairs for sitting. Pool nestled between hotel wall and parkade, "no way that sun could shine there!" Breakfast mediocre. Fresh fruit consisted of apples or oranges. No berries, bananas. Freshly made oatmeal would be nice rather than packaged.
helpful staff comfortable bed wifi speed is good
Parking space (which costs $14/day) is extremely small. Very poor sound proof - street noise is loud. Noisy hallway visitors can be heard very easily, too. Some hardware (e.g. the carpet) in the room are old. They need re-decorating. Poor breakfast.
Great rates for a good hotel. Comfortable beds, awesome location a block from Little Italy. Only a few blocks, easy walk to the Horton Plaza, as well as to the waterfront or the train/trolley station.
Information on eateries was sketchy - their onsite restaurant wasn't open on weekends, but no one thought to direct us only one block away to many many nice places in Little Italy.
