The location is superb . The staff are always friendly and helpful .
I would go back to this hotel in a heart beat! Quite place and confortable bed. 1 minute walk to the nicest beach in the world!
Decoration is a bit outdated...
Location Room Bicycle rent
The location was okay. Next time I'll pay a little more and stay at a different hotel.
The room was very small and shaped kind of odd. Parking was horrible ... Seriously horrible! No assigned spaces (what few there are!) and when using a handicap parking lanyard I couldn't use the handicapped space because the employee or owner in the office parked their Corvette in that space and then put orange cones in the spot next to it further reducing the parking spots! The corvette doesn't have a handicap plate or lanyard. When I mentioned it to the man in the office he didn't seem too concerned and instead asked me if the second-floor room I had was sufficient? It's none of his business why had a handicapped lanyard I'm not sure where he was going with that. We had to run the shower 7-10 minutes before the hot water kicked in. It was an unusually cold weekend and the heater didn't work in our room. This place was very loud it kept my daughter her husband and their child awake that was staying on the first floor in another room.
had a nice view, very close to other attractions, front desk staff was so kind and nice
no shuttlebus service...because of that I took a taxi it was expensive to go there
5 min walk to pier Nice rooms Friendly staff
Liked everything besides having to leave :)
Clean and bright. Good location.
Construction going on above room until 8:00pm. Flat sheet of bed tucked under mattress at head and opened up at feet. Shower drain very slow.
Great location, really clean, comfy bed.
The bed was cosy and the room had a beach you feel to it. Location was good, directly across from the beach. 'Garden' looks pretty at night with the lights running through it.
Staff were somewhat unwilling to be of assistance. Enquiries I made were made to feel of an inconvienece (asking to call a taxi to get to airport). Other guests stayed up drinking and partying in the 'garden' until early hours and the walls are not soundproof. They were loud and disruptive but were not asked to be quiet. Bike rental unavailable because reception didn't have a key to it.
Really nice rooms! From the outside the hotel doesn't look that good but the rooms are very comfortable. Super clean, excellent service. The minibar has cheap stuffs. The hotel is in front of the beach which is great. I really liked it.
So clean and modern. 2 min walk from beach 5 mins from pier. Great location. Not noisy and friendly staff
Proximity to ocean and Main St. Restaurants.
Room wasn't ready at check-in. We waited about an hour in a nearby bar.
Wifi realllllyyyyyy slooooooooow
comfy beds, good shower, great position, friedly and helpful staff, quiet
the drawers could have been cleaned better
Perfect location directly at the beach. Lot if parking lots in front of the motel, no need to pay the 25usd the motel charges.
A bit to expensive. It was off season and the rooms are nice, but not luxurous or extremely spacious.
Wi-fi was quite spotty
Across the street from the beach (but most rooms do not have beach view). Short walk to Pier and shopping, very clean, obviously well-cared for.(updated showers and room flooring, etc.)
Very limited, tight off-street parking.
Short of being on the beach the location could not be better. I have stayed here 5 or 6 times and each time I leave happy. It is an older hotel but it is in great shape. There are no "fancy" ameneties if thats what you are looking for but if you want a laid back beach vibe this is your place. It is cute, clean and it seems like they put a lot of thought into what the guest will really enjoy. For example, they put plenty of tables for sitting outside & enjoying the weather & ocean breeze. They have beach cruisers with a bike lock for rent right there at the office. The bike path along the beach is right across the street so that is great! You can easily bike to the peir, Venice Beach etc. They also provide beach towels & a beach bag in the room. These little things go a long way in my book. They make a visit to the beach so much more enjoyable. Also there are plenty of green places to walk your dog around the hotel.
Location value for money comfortable rooms
Staff/service was slightly rude and rushed when doing the check in
Location,size of room.
The shower was never warm.Actually kind of cold.I brought it to their attention and they said they'd look into it.
Location is good and its quite cheap
Didnt feel clean. Hairs on towels, coffee machine unusable. For a bit more cost we moved hotels
everything! especially the bedding!!!!
The Bayside is located right in the center of everything you'd visit Santa Monica for. Everything is within walking distance; shops, restaurants, the mall, movies, the 3rd St. Promenade, etc. Just a block or two from the Bayside are hotels that cost 3, 4 and 5 times the cost of the Bayside. Same location, but at a much, much higher price. If you want to stay right at the beach side, don't need an upscale room, want to enjoy Santa Monica at its best, want a good night's sleep in a clean, quiet, nicely outfitted hotel when you return in the evening, the Bayside should be on your A list. We used to stay at the Doubletree for more than double the cost of the Bayside. Not any more. The Bayside is our hotel of choice now for our frequent trips to the west coast.
I was upgraded to the second floor with a great view of the ocean right across from the park.
very noisy. The windows/doors were old and not sound proof at all. Curtains were really old and tattered.
close proximity to beach and easy access to shops and eating places.
