The location was excellent, right on the beach and the bed was comfortable. The shower was awful! |

Excellent location, just across street from beach. (Initially) clean rooms with refreshing decor. Businesslike, efficient front desk staff. My room was not cleaned one day, even after I requested it. In inclement weather, there's nothing to do in the hotel. |

Location was perfect...just across from the park and beach area. Room was quaint and views from hotel balcony were very nice. Very noisy rooms with night traffic. Paper thin walls and windows that wouldn't close because of broken latches and too much layered paint. Don't expect to get any sleep. |

Location was good with easy access to the beach and the room was nicely decorated Reception staff uncommunicative & unhelpful. We arrived 1 day early & asked if there was a spare room. Whilst checking the man at reception did not speak to us or even acknowledge our initial question. Eventually he said no, only at a much higher room rate & that was it. We had been travelling across U.S & when this had happened before staff were very helpful. suggesting & even calling alternative accommodation on our behalf. We were also initially charged a different (much higher) rate than we were quoted on website & although we were told this would be corrected, when we went to check out it hadn't been. Also having travelled through 9 states, this was the only hotel we stayed in that charged for WiFi - not impressed. |

The hotel is 1 block from the beach If you are up for a long walk it is betweenVenus Beach & Santa Monica Beach The staff was aloof & the parking lot/situation is horrible & many cars park against a wall making it easy to hit a car (if your in a stall) or get hit if not! The room we were put in, we were told was an upgrade & looked nothing like the photo of the hotel! That photo must've been of their luxury suite!? Not 3Stars as indicated; 2 stars at best |

it was clean and close to the beach, close enuf to the downtown entertainment area too but at first glance u wud not think it. once u get to kno the area its fine. it was too expensive but all hotels in the area are. the keys were too big to have to carry all the time. a key card is better |

I thought it was appropriate for the price in comparison to the surrounding hotels. Loved the location. |

The Bayside was very "old school", but we loved it! It was clean and the staff was very accomodating. If I could change one thing, I would add air conditioning. |

The hotel is right on Venice beach, with a very convenient parking lot, and is quite inexpensive (especially for the location). Wireless internet access is easily connected to and costs $10/day. The shower water pressure was somewhat weak, the room didn't have a safe, and there was only a knob lock and a chain lock on the exterior door (no deadbolt), though the area seemed pretty safe. |

Nothing, it was very noisy and it is truly a motel and not a hotel. Everything except the location. |

The location is near my daughter who lives in the area; it is also close to the beach, making it very accomodating for a long morning walk. |

I was worried about being in a new place alone, but I felt completely safe at the Bayside. I have family members a few blocks away and it was very convenient as a place to meet for adventures all over Venice and Santa Monica. If you are looking for a really fancy place the Bayside would not be a good choice but for a simple clean place to sleep and snack, this is it. |

The hotel met our requirements - somewhere to crash out after a long flight but close enough to the centre of Santa Monica and the beach. It did not feel very secure for left baggage - more a motel than hotel. Really a rather downmarket Travelodge. We concluded that the actual Travelodge, which we thought we were improving on, would have been at least as good and more central. Had we chosen this as the centre of a holiday we would have been very disappointed. Probably fair value for what we needed. |
