The view and restaurant !
Restaurant a few steps away, the kitchenette, good beds.
The door lock was VERY hard to operate.
Fabulous location with view of the ocean and short walk to attractions and restaurants. Outdoor fire pit at the Rusty Nail was a pleasure. Great night of sleep on a very comfortable bed.
Couldn't connect to Wifi but luckily we were having such a great weekend, we didn't miss it. Some stains on the carpet.
It was just me and my daughter and the room was perfect - pull out sofa, separate room with queen bed. Everything was no nonsense. If you want frills though, go somewhere else.
Ocean view Restaurant on premises Large room Small kitchen area with microwave, fridge, coffee maker and sink
No phone in room
Very close proximity to restaurant.
Dated bathroom. A little noisy at night.
The room was bright and clean. Plenty of space and great kitchen facilities. We enjoyed our walk along the shore and breakfast only 2 blocks away! The bonfire and reggae music was a great feature too!...coming back to the shack for sure!
The brand of coffee was not so good. Walking up 2 flights of stairs to the room was not fun either!
Love the beach service
The location rocks. Spent evenings by the fire & enjoyed one of our meals at the restaurant. Musician was great.
My sister & her husband went the same weekend & stayed in a room above us - exactly the same room. She paid much less.
great location next to the beach, good restaurant in front with a nice area to sit and enjoy a drink,
The location is fantastic. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Parking facility is located close to the rooms making it quite helpful when moving luggage. Beds were comfortable even for our arthritic backs.
This was our third fall visit at Beach Shack and was somewhat disappointed for no incentives this year. There was a stale odor in the room, I think coming from the air conditioning unit. Seems likely, the air filter needed to be changed or cleaned.
closeness to beach, could bring our pet to the Rusty Nail.
Thought the daily price for pet was a bit more than I have previously paid. Usually it's a flat fee of $20 per day or $100 week. though $50 a day was extreem.
staff great very pleasant . location and view fantastic. .Enjoyed the bar, firepit, pool.sat out on balcony listened to music and looked at the ocean and stars..couldn't ask for more relaxfull and pleasant stay. ordered food to take up to room very tasty and plenty.
cant think of a thing wrong with my stay.except that I had to leave!
The beach umbrellas and chairs that you can get set up for hotel guests. Also, I love the Rusty Nail. Great food, great music, great time! The location is also excellent.
The cost for the room was way overpriced for what it was. I go to Cape May twice a year, and this is the first time I stayed here. I have stayed in comparable rooms for a much cheaper rate.
free beach service: towels, chairs and umbrella
our room looked out to a wall and a stair well. we asked why we had no view and were told that we had to "ask" for a view of the ocean. Really? The toilet wouldn't flush and the air conditioner had a broken dial for "fan" so it was full force all the time and very loud.
Proximaty to the beach
Rust on radiators, paint on mirrors, paint chipping off bathroom door, rust in bathroom, smell in bathroom, bedroom door opened backwards then couldn't open dresser, one air conditioner in bedroom forcing you to have no privacy as the living room had none, crumbling plaster outside, bed lamps ripped steps not marked rooms not as advertised, the place was a dump at 500.00 per night,
Pool, Beach, Service at Beach and Pool, Restaurant. Kid friendly
The beach service (umbrellas, chaise lounges, food delivery) was incredible!!! Excellent beach location, right in front of Cape May lifeguards. The room was pleasant, live music by the firepit, easy access to food and drinks. Perfect.
Awesome location - loved the beach facilities and loved Rusty Nail, both for lunch and for bonfire dinner!
Crazy expensive, but high-season so I guess that's normal?
Charming, fresh, and comfortable room and facilities, sparkling pool, food and drinks and entertainment on premises. Good service too. Right across from the beach too. Free parking. Plus they let you stay in the parking lot and use the outdoor showers AFTER checkout time the day you are leaving.
Only minor: coffee maker, I couldn't figure out how to use it. Third floor, a lot of steps to get there so people with mobility problems should go first or second floor - tho the view is better on the third floor!
Great atmosphere. Music every night, fire pit and dogs and families all welcome. Nothing snobby or stuffy, just a great energy but as clean and beach chic as you would expect from a Congress Hall property. Food sourced from a local and organic farm. Can't beat it.
beach service by staff
pool water being cloudy
