They've got it. Couldn't hardly be better. Price was more than other Monterey Peninsula locations but reasonable for the location, I thought. Restaurant was ok, not great.
Dated fixtures in the room didn't bother me so much but the ants on the breakfast table did. The clerk didn't have my reservation from booking.com but luckily still had the room. Room was just upstairs from the restaurant & got a little noisy.
Staff was sweet. Location was fab.
A little funky for 140. a night. Could use caulk around the tub for example.
Steps away from the beach
Hotel is rundown. Our fridge in the room didn't work, bathroom smelled, and no AC. Even with a small window open, the room felt stuffy. Luckily, we didn't spend much time in the room.
No hairdryer No extra TP; little on roll Mgr not on site Dry rot on upper deck
Dirty bathroom, nice staff, great area
I wish it had widows in my room
Great location near beaches of Pacific Grove.
Rundown, musty rooms with poor beds and bad lighting. TV's straight from 1992.
Right down from the beach.
Whatever wasn't rusty in the bathroom, had hair on it. I have pictures..Towels and carpet stained!! When I asked the person behind the desk for a glass to drink my scotch she handed me a paper cup.
Easy walk to ocean and Asilomar. Comfortable bed.
This place really needs a renovation: cracked tiles in bathroom, old TV, not enough outlets. It's also on the main road (Hwy 68) so there's traffic. Finally, I was in room 11 which is right by where the garbage truck pulls in at 6:30 am.
The location of this hotel was within walking distance to the beach. There was a continental breakfast, which was good.
The carpets were so dirty that I just kept my shoes on while walking around the room. The shower was also dingy and dirty. The king bed was just two twins pushed together. The walls are so thin I could hear the neighbor coughing.
Excellent bed and pillows. Hot water immediately. Although on a busy street, it's relatively quiet. Pleasant seafood restaurant immediately next door. Immediately adjacent to beach.
Staff is available only part-time, and not always even during the posted hours. Light bulbs were out and/or missing in our rooms which consequently were rather dark.
Location was nice, close to the scenic areas and nearby shops. Staff was friendly and the appearance of the Inn from the outside is nice. Easy to find and parking available. Wifi worked great.
Take yourself back to 1983, and that is the hotel you get, with the original carpet!!! and Original stains. Walls are super thin, so you can easily share conversations with your next door neighbor, or simply fall asleep to the drunken maladies of your neighbors, like we did til 4 in the AM. There was mold in the shower, was it Black Mold, I am no professional! There is an actual tube television, which isn't necessarily a negative, just reiterates the whole 1983 vacation theme.
the location of the inn at the end of the beach is its chief virtue.
no air conditioning room was 80 degrees we had to be changed to another room wherit was a tolerable 70 degrees
Very helpful and accommodating staff. And a view of the ocean....what more do you need?
The location is excellent
The location is excellent and I remember this place from my past and it was a good decent, no frills location.
I was greeted at the door with a sign that said I could go find house keeping staff for assistance with checking in. the place is beyond run down and potentially there are some unsafe areas in the stairs and wooden walkways upstairs. No screens on windows = flys, etc. It was hard for me to force myself to step in the shower, it was just really bad. Generally very sub-standard. Office operations were unorganized and behind the times - it took them a goodly while to find my booking. I had to tell them to turn on the computer and look. I have pictures but it seems there is no way to post them here.
