Didn't like having to pay for wifi. Coffee machine in our room didn't work. Our room (115) was right outside dumpster and loud glass dumping pretty early in the morning DID make its way through our otherwise quiet enough windows.
The location was good. We could walk to the White House and most of the attractions we wanted to see (anywhere from .7 to 2 miles from hotel.) And when we got back at night, a couple of blocks north of the hotel are a good selection of restaurants. (Our favorite, the Agora). The hotel was reasonably quiet, considering the location is very busy.
Very comfortable hotel. Great location. Close to everything. I'd definitely stay again.
For amount paid,I would thins Wi-Fi was free.
No free wifi in this day and age is a bit of a joke.
When I'm paying $275 per night, I expect complimentary wifi, not a $12 per night additional charge. In fairness to the hotel, this was clearly spelled out on booking.com.
The location is outstanding.
Parking for 46 $ there is a free one near
Clean ,comfort , location and staff
You have to pay for parking and it's expensive!
There was hair and dirt in bathroom. Quite dusty and smelly.
Dewayne was always friendly and the other staff too.
Staff was friendly, service was great, and the rooms were very nice!
Room too small
The street traffic outside our window was very noisy all night long.
Rooms were clean. Bed was super comfy. Staff was fantastic and responsive. We had a constantly running toilet when we arrived, and it was fixed before we returned that evening.
No free wi-fi? You gotta be kidding!
Nice room - clean, comfortable bed.
The one and possibly only down side was that you do not provide recycling for plastic and paper. In this day and age, that is unexceptible.
Staff was especially freindly and helpful. Despite the very cold and snowy weather, we were greeted warmly each time we returned.
I had a great experience. The front desk staff was fantastic; she upgraded me to a suite when my flight caused me to check is really late and I was exhausted. She even offered me a free bottle of wine! Just phenomenal customer service.
Bar closes at 10pm – apparently there's no demand...
Location: good for business and tourism.
Awesome staff and location
Even with room key in slot, heat reverted to unoccupied and room got cold during night
Friendly staff Felt secure as a lone female traveler
paid wifi and no parking it will cost you about 40 bills a day
great location!! clean!
Free wifi for guests would have made it perfect!
After changing my mind a few times about hotels in DC, I settled on the Beacon so we could have "eating" facilities for our 2 teenage sons. The kitchenette was perfect for what we needed, the room was spacious and well laid out and the beds were great...especially as the four of us are all 6ft plus tall. A mistake with the room allocation the first night was rectified first thing the next morning, with no fuzz, lots of apologies and they moved all our bags for us. I couldn't fault the staff here. From the receptionists to the doormen and housekeeping, all were polite, helpful and friendly. Well placed for the metro, museums , diners etc and the zoo. I've already recommended the Beacon to friends and family planning trips this year.
Despite booking a room for four people, we were consistently given only 3 towels and had to keep asking for a fourth. They did not accept cash payment or our traveller's credit cards, so we had to pay on a foreign credit card which incurred fees.
Free printing and computer access. Warm rooms.
I love this hotel. I have come to DC the week after Christmas for the past three years and will continue to do so. This is the only place I plan to stay.
Staff treatment was bad especially the restaurant and bar
The cleaning service was good, Beds conditions are fine
Check in/Check out service was excellent. Room service and cleaning were on time and well performed.
High prices of food and wifi
Everything was great. The first hotel I stayed in to give me dat satifaction.
