Awesome staff and location
Friendly staff Felt secure as a lone female traveler
Even with room key in slot, heat reverted to unoccupied and room got cold during night
great location!! clean!
paid wifi and no parking it will cost you about 40 bills a day
After changing my mind a few times about hotels in DC, I settled on the Beacon so we could have "eating" facilities for our 2 teenage sons. The kitchenette was perfect for what we needed, the room was spacious and well laid out and the beds were great...especially as the four of us are all 6ft plus tall. A mistake with the room allocation the first night was rectified first thing the next morning, with no fuzz, lots of apologies and they moved all our bags for us. I couldn't fault the staff here. From the receptionists to the doormen and housekeeping, all were polite, helpful and friendly. Well placed for the metro, museums , diners etc and the zoo. I've already recommended the Beacon to friends and family planning trips this year.
Free wifi for guests would have made it perfect!
Free printing and computer access. Warm rooms.
Despite booking a room for four people, we were consistently given only 3 towels and had to keep asking for a fourth. They did not accept cash payment or our traveller's credit cards, so we had to pay on a foreign credit card which incurred fees.
I love this hotel. I have come to DC the week after Christmas for the past three years and will continue to do so. This is the only place I plan to stay.
The cleaning service was good, Beds conditions are fine
Staff treatment was bad especially the restaurant and bar
Check in/Check out service was excellent. Room service and cleaning were on time and well performed.
Everything was great. The first hotel I stayed in to give me dat satifaction.
High prices of food and wifi
Fan kept cycling on and off all night and was very very loud so it really interrupted my sleep.
There is no parking in this hotel i have paid 40$ for parking
Walkable to H Street (10mins), DC Mall (15mins), Georgetown (20 mins), even Union Station (one hour). Bed was awesome. Amenities were clean and functioned properly.
There is a restaurant/club in the hotel and you can definitely hear their music, even on Sunday until at least 11pm. Our room was facing the street so we could hear some pedestrians on the weekend - not too bad. The staff is hit or miss with politeness, but overall never bad. TV volume could not go loud at all, but that was particular to our room since I overheard the neighbor's TV.
Excelent location, fantastic room and bed
wifi has extra cost of $12 which for the cost of hotel is surprising
-Taxi is convenient. - Hotel is located in the center of the city D.C.
-No free Wifi. -No free water everyday.
I didn't have to drive home drunk or pay surged prices for Uber after a Halloween bar crawl. Thanks.
A restaurant manager literally confronted me in the lobby of the hotel over a previous yelp review of the restaurant side. Although I was in the hotel side, this crazed woman actually stalked me at check out.
Good location Lots of places around Bed was soft
Had a door that connects to another persons room Whole bathroom floor looked like a shower Didn't have a tub( i think they gave me a handicap room)
doorman was nice and helpfull
the front desk staff I encountered on checking in. However, found the morning staff the following day to be pleasant and helpful
NICE & FRIENDLY STAFF
Staff treatment was good
The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The location was great and the staff was great (we had an emergency issue and they helped us very much!)
The parking is very very very expensive (37 + tax = 43$ per night), wi- fi is not free (12& per day) which is crazy!
Good breakfast for $12
Small bathroom, overwhelmed front desk with too few staff for assistance, business services has ancient dell computers and printers with one piece of paper, low to average ambience
The location was decent
There were so many issues that were had here I barely know where to start. Their systems went down do couldn't check in for over an hour so was late to my meetings, the fire alarm went off an they evacuated the building when there was no fire or reason and didn't offer any consulation, the valet price for an hour was ridiculously high, etc. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE OR RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE EVER!!!!! It ruined my trip
Good size room Walking distance to white house etc.
Water in room turned out not to be complimentary and from Norway. Also did not taste very nice. Access swipe cards did not work very well.
The room had a lot of space, and it was very clean.
The temperature of the room. The control wasn't working and the room was too cold all the time (61º). It was chilly at nights! The two persons in the front desk were friendly but the problem was not solved.
5 minutes walk to White House; although in a center, the neighborhood is quiet; some nice cafes and restos are nearby
