We had a king suite with separate living area - even two walk in closets. The hotel is in upper west side and although didn't have a restaurant, there's loads of fab places to eat near by. It's a short walk to central park & is in a great area to relax in after a hectic day sight seeing. Went after recommendation & have already passed on the recommendation to two sets of friends who will be travelling in 2010. |

Everything! Staff, upkeep of hotel, location, security. Our first trip to NYC and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beacon Hotel. Small leak at base of toilet. It was obvious to us from the staining where it was leaking that it has been there a while. Should have been noticed by staff earlier and fixed. |

the room was the highlight - great decor, TV, iPod dock, bathroom (bath products), linens - and street noise was greatly reduced through the double-glazed windows the elevators and the lobby were not indicative of the high standard in the rooms |

The hotel is called the Jewel of the Upper Westside, and I have stayed there many times before, the room I had was totally refurbished and was very comfortable, linen and towels changed daily if requested, not the cheapest of hotels in NYC but great location, quiet at night, and only 3 blocks from subway station at 72nd street The cleaner was not great, lots of dust around |

Hotel is located in an area with a lot of small restaurants, fresh food markets, and located near the subway line to get to more tourist attractions. The hotel has small kitchenett for your convenience. The air conditioning/heating unit is energy efficient and is activated by movement within the room. During the night while sleeping, the aid conditioner did not run enough. I tried to turn the fan to "on", however I could not get it to work. |

out room (1503) was 5 star (spacious and quiet), and the kitchenette was the perfect addition. We started staying at the Beacon years ago on the recommendation of friends, and we're only delighted (and impressed) by the renovations. |

The Kitchenette. The location and being close to express subway. Facilities in the neighborhood. Orientation to real people and real New York (I used to live in New York, that's why I like the place). That WiFi wasn't free. For such a well catered hotel this seemed like an annoying money spinner (they don't charge for saucepans or electricity for the Microwave!) |
