Location-we were able to walk to museums and Central park, Lincoln Center and many restaurants. We had a west few from the 16th floor and enjoyed lovely sunsets. Also so convenient having the kitchen. We also enjoyed the happy hour and meeting folks who were heading to the Beacon theater
good location, and great to have a little kitchen and extra space to make e.g own breakfast.Staff are friendly and helpful.
toilet kept on flushing and in spite of repeated requests they could not properly fix that. Still fairly expensive, but given the cost levels in NY still good value for money.
Fabulous location - easy access to Subway and Central Park; and Museums. Great food options near by (restaurants and supermarkets); safe locatioin and away from the intensity of places like Times Square. Love having a kettle in the kitchen!
Have been staying here for years (and loved it more when it cost less). We love the location because we can walk to many, many interesting places. The kitchenettes are great as well.
Only that it has become quite expensive.
Shabby rooms (very old)
I love the location of the hotel. It is easy access to central Park and Fifth Avenue, etc. I love to walk around the city of New York, by staying at the hotel make my holiday perfect. The staff are very helpful and the new Bar is a great place to relaze. I love coming back to Beacon Hotel which I have stayed at over the last 9 years.
I would like a kettle in the room to make as cup of tea. I dont drink coffee.
The suite was spacious, well furnished, and attractive. We had an end room and it was exceedingly quiet—no street noise and minimal hallway noise. In addition, The Beacon is in a great part of town. We loved everything about our stay here.
This hotel has a great location certainly much quieter than down near Times Square. East to access all areas using the subway on 72nd st just down the road. Also lots of nice places to eat nearby. Great to have a small kitchen area in the room do we could buy breakfast things from the supermarket across the road and have breakfast in our room. Great place, would certainly stay again when in NY.
Location is excellent - in a very nice neighborhood environment - easy and safe walk to great restaurants. Across from Fairway Market which offers produce/food/etc. and even a restaurant on second level of market which is convenient. Subway is very close as well. Would def. stay here again.
Hotel is a bit old but rooms are comfortable and clean. Bathroom is small with no counter space but compensated somewhat with shelf above sink.
Upper West Side location. Huge rooms. Great staff. Surrounded by nice diners and restaurants. Two blocks for Central Park. Meeting Bruce Willis (really).
Only staying a week.
We liked the location,Walking distance to Central Park,Lincoln Centre.Colombus circle,5th Ave when you walk thru the park, just so many handy locations.the fact you have a small kitchenette is fantastic too.
Great location for Lincoln Center activities and for Broadway if you know the M104 Bus route! Good for Central Park too with just a little extra walk.
Missed a wake-up call but no harm done.
Large rooms, friendly staff and comfy beds Mini kitchen and supermarket across the road and so could make breakfast. Free wifi Very clean and like the way they replaced used kitchen items and did not expect guests to do the washing up.
Blinds inadequate and did not close properly and curtains only for decoration and did not close so sun came in too early in morning and woke me up.
Retro feel to the hotel. Kitchen facility even had a Keurig coffee pot! Had everything (minus a magnification mirror in the bathroom). Bedroom, bathroom, sitting area and kitchen great. AND a great market right across the street and 2 blocks from the subway and 2 blocks from Central Park. PERFECT!! I would stay her again. STAFF WAS GREAT - Kenny was funny and so very helpful;.
Beautifully appointed, huge bedroom and separate living room with full oven, large fridge, 3 wardrobes, laundry room, small fitness centre, fully serviced daily. Easy walk to the Hudson, Central Park, subway. We extended our stay purely because of the quality of the hotel and how easy it was for us to get to every part of Manhattan and surrounds. Two great delicatessens over the road so ate in sometimes. Even found a great hairdresser on 72nd. Felt like home away from home!
Absolutely nothing. It is an oasis in a busy city.
Great family suite at good price. Good kitchen with free coffee. Fast free wifi Helpful staff. Quiet location
A bit of a walk to downtown NY
Upgraded to two bedroom suite. Very spacious, I'd gues 800sq ') tastefully decorated. excellent sound proofing, quality beds and linen. very professional staff. would definitely be my first choice next trip. No restaurant but great diner (Viand) next door. Great location in upper west side. could go on and on but you get the picture?
Only there two nights, not a week
loved the suit option with king sized bed and separate living area/pull out for teenage kids. loved kitchen and keurig coffee maker
pull out couch was brutal needed to get a wooden board brought up by maintenance for kids to sleep without a bar running along there back.
Great location close to Central Park & subway. Friendly helpful staff. Room was clean & comfortable slept well.
The only point which is a minor one was the shower.
The Location can't be beat with being in a nice residential area on the UWS. Very Close to the Subway (1,2, or 3) and right across the street from two great grocery stores! The staff were helpful and friendly. And for NYC standards these were very large rooms.
The bathroom reeked of mold/mildew The lampshade on the desk was cracked in multiple places Both A/C units in the living area and the bedroom were semi-broken and one was literally falling apart. The frame underneath the unit had fallen off and was just laying there. For the amount of money being paid per night. This was ridiculous.
The hotel was very close to everything and even walking distance to alot of attractions, central park, museums etc
Maybe the lighting in the bedroom, but otherwise everything was just lovely.
Very friendly staff. The room is very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for shopping, eating and going to the concert.
One night a woman was talking and screaming on the north side street very loudly. It was hard to go to sleep.
We liked the location it was far enough away from the hassle and bustle of busy Manhattan but close enough to be able to get too the action via the Subway which was a short walk and very easy to use. Our suite had a small kitchen. There was a great grocery store and a delicatessen right across the road so if you didn't want to eat out it was possible to just walk across the road get get supplies, there was also a great wine store next door. The staff from the man who greeted you at the door to the lady who cleaned our room and gave us extra suger where all really friendly. We had a terrific 7 nights.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
We loved the kitchen facilities, walk-in robes, great location, nearness to subway, markets over the road, helpfulness of staff, cafe next door, free wifi.
Kitchenette facilities, location 2mins walk to subway stop (72nd st), loads of shops and food market opposite
nothing really, only the price, but then that's New York for you!
