Location. Not too close but not far at all. It's an easy and fairly safe stagger back from the Castro. Don't bother with that stuff they call coffee in your room... There's a Petes' Coffee right across the street.

The room seemed very clean. Not a lot of noise at night and the neighborhood felt safe. The parking lot was small, but at least the parking was free!

Liked that it was close to golden gate park and haight and ashbury liked that it was gay friendly and in the castro district. Free parking and free wifi The price was a little steep for the condition of the room we stayed in but at the same time cheap for being in the city and we were only there to sleep anyways

The location, free parking, and free wifi. Prepaid reservation, had to leave early, no refund or offer for future night. Old, dated facility, no hair dryer, water temperature inconsistent.

Location, friendly staff, comfortable for the price. We really enjoyed the proximity to shops and eateries. Vents in the room had not been cleaned for some time, I'm surprised they let any air in or out of the room. My husband and I both have trouble walking and with stairs. We were in a room on the 21/2 floor and the elevator did not work half the time. I had to go to the front desk (quite a distance),everyday for coffee cups, drinking glasses and coffee. We stayed 4 nights (2 guests) and for some reason these things were not replaced by houskeeping. Not a big deal but inconvenient. Just a suggestion: For the people that do smoke perhaps you could offer a upfront "deep cleaning fee" to the room instead of making them walk to the deck, which is quite slippery of an evening and early morning. We would stay again in a heartbeat but it could use some fixing up.

The staff were really good and helpful. It felt secure with gated coded card access. It's not a 5 star hotel. It has dated decor has all the basics including free wifi. It looks like they are slowly renovating the hotel so I guess the room rates will go up but maybe not. San Francisco is an expensive city and hotel prices are in the high 300-400 per night. So if you want 4 or 5 star go pay those prices. So this motel being in a great area with MUNI just outside the door gets you everywhere a vacation tourist can go. Just go up to Castro MUNI station and get a multi day ticket to ride the trams, trains and buses. Orphan Andies does great food. I'm just saying this motel is in a great location. Ps. There are a lot of homeless all over the city. I still felt safe walking street at night with my partner. I like this motel!

Its near location to the Castro district bars and restaurants was good. The staff were civil but not enthusiastic. It had ample parking and as we were on a driving holiday this helped us decide to use the location. The tram service outside to downtown was good. The lift didn't work all the time we were there (4 days) and were promised it would be fixed. The room carpet was dirty, with torn condom wrapper between bed and bedside cabinet, there were also stains on the headboard, one can only guess what they may have been from!!! The staff were perfunctory but not overly welcoming. We had a cold night and had to turn on the room heater which obviously hadn't been serviced or cleaned in a long while as it smelt of dust and bad odours.

good location, close to where I was planning to be most some of the other noisy guests, and even though I got upgraded to a King size be, nowI had a corner room, right next to the ice machine, which made a loud noise

The location and price. Nothing. Complaints can always be made, but when taken into account for price and location, small niggles are not worth dwelling on.

The only thing good about it was the location in close proximity to UCSF. The place was very basic in all ways. But our main complaint was the noise. There was a disturbance above us in the middle of the night that sounded like people fighting. I was fearful for our safety. The noise sounded like people having a party and doing some drinking since they kept coming down to the ice machine. We were awake all night. At one time I contemplated calling the police. At checkout, the person at the desk said he would "notify the management" of our concern. I totally DO NOT recommend this motel.

There was a big event in sf, and this was the last hotel available for <$200. Location was sketchy but convenient to public transportation. Bathroom floor was a little slimy but the room otherwise seemed clean (not nice hotel white comforter clear, but clean sheets underneath).
