I stayed at Bedford Hotel over Easter Weekend with my 18 yr old daughter - the facilities were excellent - I read reviews before I went regarding lift being slow - dont know what lift people meant but the lift at bedford was brilliant never waited more than 10 seconds - reception staff very helpful and courteous - nothing too much trouble - even though they must get asked the same questions over and over again - regarding cleaning of room - I forgot to leave a tip one morning and just the bare necessaties were done - but this is new york. Great location - close to grand central and approx 20 mins walk to times square. Was recommended this hotel by my sister who stayed in October 2011 and I wasn't disappointed.

The staff at the Bedford were so helpful. I ran the marathon and when I returned to collect my luggage for the airport I was given a room to shower in before my long trip home. This was greatly appreciated and is typical of the Bedford Hotel staff.

The location of the hotel was its best feature (close to Grand Central Station) and having a small kitchenette to make tea and coffee and prepare our breakfast. The bed was comfortable and room clean. Staff were proficient and courteous but not overly friendly, a smile here and there wouldn't have gone astray. The only time we received a smile and some conversation was the day we were leaving,

When I arrived, I asked the front guy to arrange the room or at least taking shower because I took red eye. The guy arranged a room just to take a shower as his extraordinal arrangement. It was quite helpful for me since I had a meeting in the morning. It seems that he may be complained internally, but I really appreciate to his arrangement.

The Location , near the Grand central station and the price. The only hotel of this category with reasonable price in New York . The staff altghough eficient and helpful they have a very cold approach. They dont even say the typical expretions like "welcome" or "have a nice trip" . Nevermind I dont need to tell me these kind of greetings as long as I get what I look for. But they give the imression they dont like what they are doing.

The staff was excellent. The location was great. My non-smoking room smelled like many people have smoked in that room. There was no business center. To make prints you have to go to a Kinko'S. The Kinko's was very near to the hotel though.

Good location was the best feature. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The view from the window! It was a brick wall two feet away. As a single guest, I found the room compared poorly with my friends' room - they are a married couple who had a lovely room with a view. Small point: the bathroom taps ran warm water, not cold, so it wasn't nice to drink. Also the faucet is loose.

It need some renovations, old style and old carpet, not so nice bed cover. But they cleaned the room every day, liked that. Good with a freezer and a coffee machine, we could make our own breakfast. Great location

Just the location. The window in the living room would not open properly and my son and nephew was unable to get air flowing through the room. Tbere were cockroaches about the size of my thumb. The kitchenette did not have pots to cook with nor did it have a microwave. The bed in the bedtoom was dipped in on the left side my fiance had to sleep in the middle of the bed we couldnt use the left side at all.

The room was way more spacious than I was expecting for the price & location. We could actually move around and relax, and there was a fridge and a microwave in the room, which was perfect for my boyfriend's penchant for leftovers. The room was quiet; not a lot of noise from the hallway or neighboring rooms. Our only complaint was that my boyfriend's requested cutlery (for his leftovers) didn't arrive until 30 minutes after requested and included only a knife and a spoon. This wouldn't stop us from recommending the place or staying there again, of course!

I loved everything about bedford, I went for New Years, my friends and I were loud and they didnt mind, the staff even joined in on the excitement. They allowed us to check in early. they only thing I didnt like was the bad reviews I read before going which made me scared and the top cover that hotels dont clean looked wore out and in need of being replaced. top cover was dirty, old smelly, and dindgy
