Liked the location on First Ave near the un. Less hussle and bussle, and less noise. Yet, conveniently located in mid town. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that: (1) my room phone was broken and, (2) my pillow had a blood stain or some other unsighly stain. It was good that the hotel staff immediatley solved these problems, but these problems should never have existed in the first place. Then, the hvac broke in my room late at night. I woke up the next morning to an hvac spewing hot 80 air, even though the thermostat was set at 69! Of course, the staff replaced the unit, but why are these things happening? Thirdly, there was no desk in the room. I'm in town on business and I had to set up my lap top on a tiny little side table. What's up with this??? This hotel may be fine for leisure travel, but certainly not for business travel. And the room was pretty expensive. I could have found a lot better room at another facility for the same price.

I love antiquity. I was totally charmed by the historic value of the Beekman and its spectabular city view. I felt honored to be staying in a hotel that was built in the late 1920's and use to house young college girls attending NYU. I adored my room and the way it was set up. I felt transposed in to an era I am very much interested in. I thought the room was spacious, quaint, and just simply warm and welcoming. I felt as though I actually was residing in an apartment of my very own in a city I just love. The location was perfect to everything I wanted to do in the city and every night I returned to the hotel I felt like I was returning home. I would graciously come and stay over and over and over again. As a matter of fact I was wondering how much an extended stay would cost--like if I wanted to stay for a month while looking for work. I simply loved everything about the Beekman. I felt very special to be residing there for the weekend. I arrived on a Thursday early evening and departed on a Sunday at noon. I think the Beekman should do more on the exterior so that they stand out as a beacon of history and it would be nice if they offered a free breakfast with your stay or one at a reduced rate. I went across the street to a little cafe to do breakfast and one morning I just prepared my own breakfast in the room in my cute little kitchen and stove. Other than that my stay was absolutely fabulous. Thank you.

Perfect location, excellent value, nice to have a kitchenette Shower needs to be refurbished. The whole place is a little dated but that is what keeps the price low in an expensive area.

The location, kitchenette in room, good bed, compact but efficient bath room, very friendly staff at front desk and door. Very reasonable rate for people like me who work for non-profit organization and we have to keep our admin costs low. The heater in my room was making tapping noise throughout the night.

The hotel was well placed to see the majority of sites in Manhatten. Our room was a good size and comfortable. The b/fast in the restaurant was good value and was an added bonus being on top of the building to see the city Walls are thin so could hear the guests next door and guests talking in the corridor

Great locaton and room ideal for family of four, spacious and well laid out. Hoel staff very helpful. Would definatly stay there again Only issue was the external building works during are stay, constant drilling outside window during week days. Being in New York meant we spent little time in the room durting the day
