Accommodation in Manhattan is expensive and this was relatively cheap in comparison to many others, very close to the metro making travel uptown/downtown very easy and inexpensive. The location felt safe and was not too far from the major sights of New York. We felt that our room wasn't represented accurately on the website, it was tiny and the bed was a small double, shorter than my husband. We had no space for our luggage, I had my suitcase balanced on the top of the mini/bar fridge otherwise I would have had to crawl over it to get around the room to get to the ensuite. In glancing into other rooms while they were being serviced there did appear to be much larger rooms so perhaps we were unlucky, if booking maybe enquire as to the size of the bed and room.

Staff was very friendly... We loved the location 2 blocks from subway and walking distance to museums & central park! Lovely grocery market steps away and mini fridge in room makes for great snacks... Excellent on site fitness center. Definately would stay again... Rooms are small but it's to be expected in manhattan... We called about a running toilet but noone ever showed up... It worked out that we just had to jiggle the handle... Another small complaint is that we asked concierge about getting to JFK and we advised the only way to get there on time was to take a car for $75 or an overpriced taxi... Luckily google maps gave us instructions to take long island railroad which was only $6 each plus $5 each for airtrain!!

Excellent location for young people who like healthy way of live (central park is situated just 5 min from the hotel) and "the breath" of big city! Very nice and polite staff! Clean rooms and lobby! Our advice to everybody to book this hotel

I stayed in Belleclaire with my mom, so I wanted a hotel in a quiet, but not too remote neighborhood. This was the best choice! The hotel is located in one of the classiest neiborhoods, close to the subway and Central Park. Many stores and cafes nearby. Nice and friendly staff, beautifully decorated room with a comfy bed and free wi-fi. Great value for money! The rooms windows looked at the wall of the neighboring building.

You should let people know that you are under construction as it was a severe inconvenience for us all. The trip to the first floor for a cup of coffee is ridiculous. Under the circumstances, you should spend a few dollars and put a small coffee maker in each room. Also, with the staircases generally unavailable, there are safety concerns. Finally, Belleclaire wins the award for the shabbiest chairs most uncomfortable pillows in any hotel.

The staff really tried their best to make us comfortable. Had to move rooms and was "upgraded". The hotel is very old and rundown. There is so much patch up work in the ceilings and floors. The windows have so many gaps. The lobby is being renovated however the hotel has a lot of other problems.

The hotel was in a great location. Not too big. Clean, functional rooms. Guest lounge too small. Noisy in our room which faced the street. Air conditioner was very loud.

Location Hotel Website offers rollaway beds at an additional cost. Hotel did not offer rollaway beds. Had a very uncomfortable two week stay to say the least. Very disappointed as this was confirmed to me over the phone prior to arrival. Also, one treadmill was not working for the entire stay.

Location. Clean rooms with wooden floors. A little inconvenience caused by renovations E.G. could not access the lobby using one of the two lifts and one flight of stairs.

a good hotel for the price. Room was small but clean (except for the window, but it is NYC so grime is to be expected). Staff very friendly! Gave good recommendations for dinner and breakfast. Great location for the Beacon Theater.

Upon arrival the front desk people were very nice...actually tried upgrading us to a king suite, however with 4 ppl in our room that would not hae worked for us. Room was very small but nicely put together. I had never seen a hotel room with wood floors so that was very nice. The price was the cheapest we could find and it was in a great area of the city. You could walk to most locations in you were in the mood to sight see or you could catch a subway just 2 blocks away There was not really anywhere for us to unpack our belongings. When i get away for a few days, I like to unpack and feel at home while Im away...but there was no where for us to keep our clothing except for the clothes that could be hung in the closet

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights (9-10/04/12), despite the hotel being renovated, there wasn't any disturbing noise. It really felt like we were entering a building site and it's a shame that wasn't reflected in the price. The room was elegant but had very little day light...not really a problem for us as we didn't spend much day time in it! The bathroom could have done with a face lift and didn't feel very clean. For some reason our room, 3rd floor, got very hot and stuffy at night. Please note that breakfast isn't included.

Very nice room, really nice staff, great location for us (family in Morningside Heights), great bed, nice linens, nice to have a fridge. On the upper edge of our price range but would love to stay again if we could get a similar price. Thanks!

We were warmly greeted by a reservationist and were given immediate suggestions by the consigere as to where to eat and things to do in the area, Our room was very clean and was larger than imagined. The area around the hotel is lovely and we enjoyed a wonderful walk to and around Central Park west. I will definitely stay here again.
