Excellent location in the Upper West Side. Very convenient fir the Subway (79th station only a block away and on the 1 line) - so very easy to get to attractions like Statute of Liberty etc. Staff were very helpful and happy to deal with our enquiries and had discount tickets for attractions such as the American Museum of Natural History. Little things like free wifi also were great. Room was exactly as described and a good option for family of 2 adults and 2 children. Some renovations happening, but didn't disturb us as they occured during the day. Plenty of eating options close by. Would definitely recommend for those wanting a quieter and cheaper option than Midtown. Will definitely consider again next time in NYC Hotel booked us a car to JFK through Arrows Car Service. Driver was rude and not helpful with luggage. No reflection on the great service of the Belleclaire, but would ask them not to use Arrows again.

Staff was very friendly... We loved the location 2 blocks from subway and walking distance to museums & central park! Lovely grocery market steps away and mini fridge in room makes for great snacks... Excellent on site fitness center. Definately would stay again... Rooms are small but it's to be expected in manhattan... We called about a running toilet but noone ever showed up... It worked out that we just had to jiggle the handle... Another small complaint is that we asked concierge about getting to JFK and we advised the only way to get there on time was to take a car for $75 or an overpriced taxi... Luckily google maps gave us instructions to take long island railroad which was only $6 each plus $5 each for airtrain!!

It was in a great location in the uws. The front office staff were excellent with efficiency and friendliness. The room in which I stayed was quite small but had all the necessities for a comfortable visit. The aircondition unit was quite noisy and on my second day there the houskeeping staff decided to help themselves to some change that I was saving for the unicef envelope on the plane. I have visited nyc four times previously and feel that the the room at the Belleclaire was way overpriced for what it was compared to other hotels I have stayed in in the city.

Accommodation in Manhattan is expensive and this was relatively cheap in comparison to many others, very close to the metro making travel uptown/downtown very easy and inexpensive. The location felt safe and was not too far from the major sights of New York. We felt that our room wasn't represented accurately on the website, it was tiny and the bed was a small double, shorter than my husband. We had no space for our luggage, I had my suitcase balanced on the top of the mini/bar fridge otherwise I would have had to crawl over it to get around the room to get to the ensuite. In glancing into other rooms while they were being serviced there did appear to be much larger rooms so perhaps we were unlucky, if booking maybe enquire as to the size of the bed and room.

The hotel is very clean and in a great neighborhood, in walking distance of Central Park, museums, shopping, Zabar'S. There was no breakfast. It's always nice to have a breakfast. And there's not much of a lobby. I suppose there's no room for breakfast.

Location is near family and it was afordable. Place was clean and in the the middle of being remodeled. I could not sleep in because the noise of the slamming doors either across the way or next door constant at 7am? The bathroom was also a low end remodel.

The position was good, close to subway, nice area; rooms were clean, all conforts although we were given a small room with no view (window was facing a brick wall very closely...). People at front desk, consierge, bellman etc were all superfriendly and efficient.

The staff were very friendly, helpful/responsive and knowledgeable. The hotel was secure, clean, and the foyer always in order despite a fair bit of traffic. Business centre was effective. The Hotel's location was ideal; we walked a great deal, and subway access was proximal. I would without hesitation stay at the Hotel Belleclaire again.

The room was comfortable, beds were great. The bathroom was spacious, especially for a ny hotel. Very clean, great location. The only thing that could have made our stay perfect was the constant breakdown of the elevators. Thankfully there was a freight elevator (which was actually much roomier and reliable) that we could use.

Excellent location about ten minutes walk from Central Park on 77th Street. The room was just what we expected and was cleaned every day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend staying if you want somewhere quiet, clean and near to Central Park and would not hesitate to stay again. There was little drawer space and we ended up keeping some of our clothes in the suitcase. Plenty of hanging space though.

The staff was helpful, and were quick to tell us how to get somewhere. Service was fast and friendly. Great location just two blocks from the subway. I had booked a standard double, which I thought was supposed to be a two bed room, however there was only one. Also the room was very small.

Believe the website should have stated there were ongoing renovations, both in the hotel lobby, and across the street. Was woken at 7 with jackhammers outside.... As well, considering the hotel is located on a busy street, I suggest they upgrade their windows, as the wood ones allow every little noise in...

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was basic, but clean, which is what I look for in a hotel. The location worked nicely, and was on the corner of Broadway which makes it easy to find a cab when needed. It was a nice hotel to stay in, and for a good price. I did have a problem with the lighting in my room, which I felt was too dim. When I mentioned this to the main desk, I was happy to see a second table lamp provided, which improved the balance of the light nicely. I also thought the room was kept too warm. It felt to be 78 or 80 degrees. I did not mention this until I was checking out, so I don't know if that could have been adjusted or not. I know the radiator in the room was not warm, and there were no room controls, so it may have been a central setting. But to be fair, I did not mention it until I was leaving.
