Price and location.
The bed needs a blanket - not just the bed spread.
The location is excellent. Close to both subway and Central Park. The bed was firm & the room/bathroom very clean.
I think the computer kiosk should be complimentary for paying customers. I was there w/out computer access & that would have helped a lot.
The location - close to public transportation, restaurants, shops, and attractions. The hotel is clean and comfortable; though rooms are small and fairly basic, the Belnord represents a good value for Manhattan.
No bad experiences. I couldn't access the WiFi but other nearby locations - including the Barnes and Noble at 81st Street - have excellent WiFi.
location and transport access were great. not in tourist country per se and so food prices were very acceptable with good quality
bed a bit short, even for a 5 ft 9 inch adult. we preferred the twin bed room.larger with more storage
- The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood. Location is 15 min walk to the Museum of Natural History and the subway. - The first room we got, we could not sleep because the floor literally shook because of some machine working. We ask to get a different room and the second room downstairs took care of the problem. Thanks to the receptionist for this.
- For 2 persons, the room is super small, I cannot open luggage comfortably. - Wifi Internet not working properly in laptop but OK with phones, there is a timeout so you need to login frequently and periodically. - The walls are thin, we can hear people walk because the hall is literally 3 meters from our bed. - Beware that they automatically take out 100% of your first night the day you booked the room. I did not check this was confused why they charged my credit card twice. Additionally upon arrival you are asked to pay the whole bill already.
Though small the room had been well thought out and planned. Immaculately clean. Good space for clothes and all other items. Good beds (very comfortable), a great district with shops, restaurants, and very good transportation. Near Central Park and numerous museums. Loved it and can't recommend it highly enough. I am originally from the upper west side so know what I'm talking about. My British husband also was extremely impressed.
location close to city center wi-fi worked good most of time
noisily at night, couple of times i woke up hearing the loud speech, even you'll hear ordinary conversations of other guests clearly because of thin walls
the hotel is clean and at a nice location
the front desk is poor ...just two men and one grl are nice.....at night they had a guy that seems to be mad when has to hel people but just one ....
Very clean and quiet hotel--everything worked and the other guests were well behaved. Staff was good, but it crowded the computer room, used it as a lounge.
No chair in my room, which meant that I had to lie in bed or stand up, making it very hard to read. No place in bathroom for my things, had to keep moving them back and forth. Room very cramped.
I was very pleased with the location of the hotel. the subway station at s short block away was the best.
the staff was not very friendly. did not sugges. inform us of coffee ice machines etc. gave us or key without a word. hotel maintenance insisted to be let in to measure a side table. I asked him to return n he didn't. My husband was furious.
The Belnord is like small European hotels. It is located in a great neighborhood with brownstone, small family restaurants and bars on Central Park. A quick walk across the park by the reservoir puts you on the east side with great museums of ART. The 1 subway expresses downtown to every location for locals and tourists in NYC. I especially liked the low key, private and quiet atmosphere of the Belnord. It was an exceptional value but the very big or very tall would find the configuration of the bathroom uncomfortable and maybe impossible to accommodate largess.
The linens and comforters were not white crisp, laundered sheets. The comforter had definitely seen better days about a decade ago. Believe me, the management would be responsive if there were bedbugs. The floors are old polished wood, no carpet, and quiet without all the sirens and traffic of midtown.
Decent location. Good value. Free Wi-Fi. Modern bathrooms and rooms.
Air leaked through windows, necessitating stuffing towels under them. Bed was way too soft, giving one of us severe pain.
Very good place out of the noise and the good employees, they are very respectful
When I get in the hotel , I use my debit card I normally had to be charged $81 but I've been changed $100 and after that they $48 extra money, I am still asking my self .
The location was perfect. Our room was small, but very nice.
The comfort of the bed.
There is no microwave available. The front access doesn't have a ramp for wheelchair guests.
- There is hot water
- It is too cold when the temperature drops below 40 even if I put the heater to max.
Clean room and bathroom, perfect size for me although some says too small. Towels and hot waters are great!Staff are nice and helpful, luggage room very useful for travelers.
No tea/coffee making facility inside the room but they have small kitchen where we can make tea and coffee. No breakfast options. we can hear people walking/talking around the hall way
Proximity to family
Noisy people talking loudly in the hall at night
Room always cleaned and very comfortable. Good location!
Excellent location respect to the Metro system
Despite de fact that internet access was good, you have to login every time that you want navigate which is boring
Great location on subway line, quiet room, very clean, easy fast check-in/out, well-lit and easy to find
Room was one of the smallest I've seen (I think it was the smallest in the hotel) so maneuvering was a little tricky. For the price in NYC a few days before new years, I think it was reasonable.
1. Room and bed is extremely small 2. wifi is not stable at night 3. only one day among 4days has room cleaning 4. the sound from other room can be heard clearly
Hotel super close to red line subway. Super convenient to get to major landmarks. Room was super clean.
Room was extremely small (like if we leaned over we could touch one wall with hand and other foot! And I'm 5'9") but we pretty much only slept and showered there so it was fine. The closet is small so don't bring tons of luggage. Wifi password changes daily. List of passwords for our stay worked for first 2 nights, but not the last.
