The staff were very friendly and the location is within 3 blocks of Union Square

Rooms were dated and did not have individual temperature control. Our room which was one floor below reception could not get any wi-fi. Breakfast could have been better.

Spacious. room with two queen beds, plus a room with a couch and 4 dining area, plus a kitchenette with oven large fridge and microwave, plates and cooking utensils included, plus a large bathroom. LOVED IT!

A bit chilly, but there were extra blankets.

The social in the lobby each evening. We met some very nice people.

We had some good days in this hotel with a good breakfast and afternoon wine, we enjoy the journey and feel safe all the time. The staff were always available to us and helped us in all situations. We recommend it without any worries.

Nice older hotel

The lobby and the rooms are very attractive and comfortable. The breakfast is OK and the wine, cheese hour is great. Both really promote and chance to meet others.

We liked the location & helpfulness of the staff. The room was clean. The rate was very reasonable.

The room & bathroom were adequate; however, they do need to update the fixtures in the bathroom and the bedspread. The general room decor looks like it has seen better days.

Friendly helpful staff, big comfortable room freshly renovated. Free continental breakfasts and also wine in the evening. Just perfect!

Some street noise on Fri and Saturday nights.

Fm 4:30-5:30pm, there is complimentary cheese and wine at lobby. Taste good. There are mini market, several restaurant around hotel on Post Street. And 3 blocks to Union square, 5 blocks to china town. Shuttle service usd15.- Is good.

Breakfast is very less selection-- only 1-2 fruit, and bread. Coffee,tea only. No other selection. Wifi is only good at lobby, bad connection in room. Room is small and not so antique/classic as pictures. Price is too high (@185/night after tax) for such level hotel

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, comfortable, relatively spacious - lots of room for two adults. Spa bath, little kitchenette was great at end of long conference days. Handy to everything but not right in city center, which I liked. Wine and cheese every afternoon was added bonus. I stayed here on friends' recommendation, and will be passing the recommendation on!

The location was not as user friendly as described. One of our group was an amputee and it was difficult for him to maneuver. The price was not consistent with the value

I LOVED everthing! The "antique" decor. The friendly atmosphere of staff and guests. The "extras:" breakfast and wine & cheese.

No central AC

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful in every way. The size of the hotel, along with the opportunities to gather twice a day in the lounge around food and drink made it a unique and quite wonderful experience.

Your WiFi doesn't work very well and causes some frustration (you already know this).

Neat building, great location, wine & cheese in the afternoon was great

Poor internet connection, Basically I could not access internet from my room at any time. Breakfast was very poor. Dried Croissants and some fruits everyday. After the second day I could not stand it anymore.

The main gathering room and that is was an historical landmark. Interesting architecture.very friendly staff

It was clean and reasonably central.

Had no facilities in room or within the hotel to make a hot drink, this would have been fine if we were only there for a night or two however we were there for seven nights.

Good value for money. Friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. Serve yourself continental breakfast and friendly get together for wine and nibbles in reception every day. Close to city centre and tourist attractions

The location is amazing for touring San Francisco. The staff is the perfect blend of professional yet friendly and the hotel itself is a beautiful, historic, traditional facility.

It is a bit run down and could use minor sprucing up. Certainly nothing that would keep me from returning or touting them as a definite place to stay.
