The staff was very friendly and helpful as we were from out of state. We had contact with several people in your staff and each one was very helpful. The old and the new was so interesting to us since we had never seen any of the sights and were given a quick verbal tour of your hotel.
The bathroom in room 276 was very outdated. It could use a little refreshing. The toilet paper roll was about 2 feet from the toilet and the faucets in sink and tub were old and showing lots of signs of wear and tear.
Full breakfast, all you can eat. Awesome deal!!
It's a place to sleep. Nice to have a suite. The free breakfast was fair. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was great as it's the hotels property.
Furniture was old and scratched up. The wifi was in and out. The carpet is dark with stains all over it. The window to the out side is a joke. It's so old that the space between the panes was so bad you can barely see though it
Breakfast was nice, with eggs and bacon and waffles! Rooms are big enough, price decent. Staff is really friendly.
The amount of room for a larger family, cleanliness, and breakfast was included.
Lovely quiet family friendly
Great value! The room was clean and spacious, the staff were very friendly and we could walk to downtown, the wharf and the Boardwalk. It was nice having a gym to work out at and the breakfast had a nice selection. We would stay here again for sure!
Closet could use a light
Clare at the front counter at the Best Western (BW) was very helpful, arranging for a room at a higher end property 2 blocks away because the BW was overbooked by 6 rooms on the day I checked in, although we had paid for our room 3 weeks prior to arriving. Clare also arranged for a bottle of wine for our trouble at the higher end hotel (that had the same owner), and she said we could stay there 2 nights for the same price as the BW (which was about $120 a night), even though the better hotel charged over $400 a night. Clare warned us that the higher end property, called the Hotel Paradox, wasn't as friendly as they were at the BW, and she was partially right about that. It turned out that all but one of the Hotel Paradox's employees were very nice, except for the front counter supervisor, who turned out to be a complete jerk. See my comments under "what I didn't like" for further details.
I was sent from the Best Western to the Hotel Paradox, a higher end property 2 blocks away that had the same owner. A young man whose name was Chris Rivera, who checked me in at the front desk, asked me whether I liked white or red wine. I told him my preference, and he promised that a bottle of wine would be delivered to our room right away for our inconvenience having to move to another hotel and the 2 hr wait to check in. The promised bottle of wine was not delivered to our room that night, so the 2nd day I went to the front counter to ask what happened to it. It was at that time that I was told by the same young kid (who said he was the manager but turned out to only be a supervisor) that he didn't send me the wine the night before because he could tell I had already been drinking, so he made a "judgment call" that I didn't need the wine after all! I only had 2 drinks in the 2 hours I waited for the room and was not drunk in the least when I checked in and he offered me the bottle of wine. It made me very angry when he made this comment to me, since a punk kid has no business making a "judgment call" about my supposed condition, expecially after he's the one who offered me the bottle of wine and even asked me what kind I liked best! I wasn't going to drink any of the wine that night anyway, but even if I had, it surely wasn't his place to decide that for me. He is far too young to be making any judgment calls about the hotel's older guests and much to arrogant to be working as a supervisor at the hotel's front desk. In fact, this kid shouldn't even be employed in any job involving customer service with his condesending and judgmental attitude.
This was a quick trip for family and this is our preferred place to stay as it is centrally located and usually a very nice place to stay, as it was again this time.
Garage had some very minor flooding, no issues, but cause for concern as parking is underground and if it was severe, cars would be be damaged.
Spa Big rooms Great service Price
A little far from the boardwalk (15 minutes walk)
Noisy guests arriving at 3,30 am and heard easily. Need better soundproofing on doors.
Nice spa, WiFi worked well once you figure out how to connect. Location to our function was great. Breakfast was great AC in room was good.
Parking was always full and spaces when available were tiny. Wifi instructions in the room were incorrect, wasted 10 minutes trying to figure out how to connect. Found a bloody napkin in room when we checked in, never a good thing.
Strange smell in room
Large hot tub, good size rooms with separate lounge area, layout of hotel with central atrium gave it an airy boutique feel. Undercover off road parking. 2 desktop computers also available as well as WiFi. Good location to access beach. Good choice of breakfast food, both hot & cold, and an open seated airy with a fire & tv/xbox for relaxing.
Plastic cutlery & plates for breakfast,
Everything was clean and amazing! The staff was fantastic and so sweet to us!!!! We could not have asked for more!
First, the cleanliness of the room. Very friendly staff at check in and through out our stay. Nice fresh selection and kept the breakfast offerings full.
No pool for the family to enjoy and not enough parking. Had to park away and that was not something I would expect to have to deal with.
The suite has enough space for a family, and bed is soft. Breakfast is good but closed a little bit early in the morning.
Brand new facility, awsome location
Sudden noise at 6.30 am and 7.30 am due to heating system ignition
Great location and friendly staff
Extra bed was tiny TV was fuzzy and barley worked Terrible breakfast staff Really expensive.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Room had good decor.
Air conditioner sounded like a freight train. The hot/cold water tub faucet was reversed (can get scalded), the hotel is on a corner of two noisy streets; only take a room with the airconditioner in the bedroom or you won't sleep. Neither the refrigerator nor the fireplace worked.
I loved that we were greeted by a very friendly staff. Incredibly informative, talked kindly to our four children, helped us find a room on the bottom floor so we would not disturb other guests (per our request), breakfast was ok normal hotel fare, very close to downtown and about 5 minutes from the Boardwalk. 15-20 minutes from other attractions like the Redwoods.
Something smelled like mildew on the way to our room. I can't think of any other complaints.
Very helpful reception staff on arriva. We had a spacious and comfortable double suite. Good parking facilities. Hotel room and all areas very clean. Central location.
Having to wait for breakfast. Staff slow to refill waffle maker, coffee, juice. Not enough family tables. Lack of towels for spa.
Lobby was clean, fresh and very updated.
The decor was fresh and new. New mattresses, new linens, new carpeting, etc., it met my retired Director of Sales' requirements. Very comfortable. Parking was very accessible to the elevator (although it was a bit slow at times). Hotel was quiet and gracious.
Breakfast was mediocre, but I didn't eat until 9 am. But with 9 mouths to feed breakfast, the price was right. Apparently, the Exec. Housekeeper didn't check our room before closing down because we had no towels, no hand towels, no wash cloths, no bath mat. The FD clerk must have been running ragged because it took a couple of calls down to FD to get someone to answer. The towels did arrive immediately once I got her.
