My uncle, Robert Quinn built the hotel as well as many other buildings in Santa Barbara-the why of the choice of locations to stay in for my Aunt, Norma Quinn's funeral in Santa Barbara.

I requested on line an Ocean view room, and through my father, David Bartosiewski, a room close to their's on the third floor for a reason, as a light sleeper, I did not want to hear squeaking floors. Finding myself out of a third floor room, I accepted a second floor Ocean view room and was awakened by squeaking floors. Disappointed with this issue, I am!

The location is the most important thing - it locates in the middle of harbor and wharf. The breakfast was surprisingly good with great variety.

You have to pay additional for a parking (it wasn't advertised on booking.com) and parking locates quite remote from hotel rooms.

We enjoyed everything. We've stayed there before. It was nice then and just as nice now. Waking up to that scenery is simply breath taking! Thanks!

The keys are easily de-magnetised. I get all the way to my room on the opposite side third floor from the office and have to walk back down to re-magnetize my key. There also needs to be either compementary bottled water (two) in all the rooms or two bottled waters with a price on each and the maids keep track of the amount being used. It's placed on the invoice and all is well. I went to the vending machine(10:30 pm) only to find out it was out of bottled water. When I went to the desk and asked for this she told me there was some three blocks up the street. I then went back to the room, got on the phone, rang the desk requesting bottled water be sent up and of course received nothing. Its an inconvenience to have to bring your own bottled water. Or to have to rely on a vending machine. I've been to different hotels where they have botted water in the room. I know this is lengthy and I hope its all read. Other than that we had a great time! Thanks!

Room was excellent value-- very clean. Had a balcony with pleasant views. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Proximity to beach, harbor, restaurants and a good walk to State Street, Staff were very friendly and helpful.

A little noisy with street traffic and kids on upper floor running around.

Heated pool. Prompt housekeeping and friendly staff.

Clean & spacious room with nice balcony.

Door lock didn't work and were not offered alternative room or for it to be fixed or any compensation when complaining on arrival and departure. This resulted in us struggling to enter our room taking up to ten times of trying key card. The cost of the room was much higher on the Saturday night which was not obviously apparent on booking.

Nice room

Breakfast was very poor both in content and lack of space/tables. We had to miss it.

We appreciated 2 parking spaces and being able to lock up our bikes in the storage room. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly every single day. Very nice place. We would return.

Our room was close to the ice maker and vending machines and it was very loud. We were awakened at night to the sound of crashing ice. Also, there were very loud guests (athletic team) who arrived at 9:45pm and they were in the hallways and going up and down the hall talking for a good half hour. We would have appreciated the staff asking them to quiet down. As guests, we did not feel comfortable confronting them. Also, I think the egg dishes could completely do without the liquid Velvetta type cheese. It ruined the eggs all 3 days we were there. Maybe cheese could be offered on the side for those of us who don't like it or don't eat dairy.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Because of the layout of the motel I was worried that it would be noisy, but they took special care to be sure the guests were quiet.

There were some issues with our heater/air conditioner. When we turned on the heat one night, we found only cold air blew on us. We turned it off and bundled up instead, but noticed it again on the day we left which was the coolest day of our trip. The staff was helpful in fixing it, but would have been better if it had simply worked the way it was supposed to to begin with. Also, the shower leaked.

Location, room view and easy access from parking. Also the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
