Wifi was very slow for most of the night. The neighbourhood did not feel safe. The breakfast was minimalist and budget.
The room was aesthetically pleasing, very clean and the history story was a nice touch. The staff was extremely helpful, and this was
A block or two to far from the CBD
Everything, the décor is out of this world.
- Breakfast was very basic, limited and outside hotel across the road in a diner, staff were not welcoming and very slow. - You have to walk along/through mission which does not feel safe
- Decor and size of the room - Very close to city centre
Location was good but the area seemed a bit dodgy. we wouldn't advise walking around there at night.
Hotel was a very reasonable price. Rooms were a good size and we were 2 blocks from market street
The location was great, close to streetcar stop on market at. Chineese/Vietnamese restaurant next door was excellent fuel after a. If day sightseeing. Brainwash cafe round the corner was an amazing concept... Laundromat /cafe/bar & stand up comedy!!
Parking fee 35 $
Breakfast was in an ugly place across the street and included only the cheapest stuff, which wasn't tasty at all.
Spacious room with a large window. Good location. Overall value for money.
Clean, plenty of room, great staff, had other plans for breakfast but love that they offer it
Lots of homeless people on Market street especially at night- not a hotel responsibility obviously & typical for San Francisco as I've understood. Bad soundproof.
Big & comfortable rooms, interesting room disign. Located close to BART. Helpful staff.
Breakfast in other location with a difficult street crossing. Quality of breakfast.
Staff helpfulness, location and cleanliness
Even though other reviewers had written about the neighborhood, I ignored them - thinking that it was only a few extra blocks from union square. A few people had mentioned that it wasn't that bad at all, claiming that others had been overly cautious. But it actually isn't in a good area at all. there were quite a few drug addicts (with needles!) and homeless around during the day - and the entire area took on a sinister feeling at night. Taxi's are not easily flagged down in the area, which made going out at night quite a challenge. I would not stay there alone - or even venture out on my own during the day. Half way through the stay, construction started in the hotel, which made relaxing impossible with all the hammering and banging going on. Overall, I won't book again. It was our wedding anniversary that week so would've made different choices had I known how bad the area was and about the construction ahead of time.
The hotel room itself was larger than expected and was decorated in a charming and eclectic style - although it had been a smokers room before. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts over the road were great.
The shower tap was very difficult to control. It was basically just trial and error, turning it randomly until we can get the temperature and the pressure we wanted. Some nights we would be very bothered by noisy upstairs neighbors. It sounded like they were stomping around the room continuously. Other nights were fine. Not sure if this is from poor sound insulation or inconsiderate hotel-stayers.
After our first night in a room facing the road we were able to change rooms, and we ended up in the Big Bertha unit for five more nights. It was fantastic: quiet from street noise with a calm atmosphere from the greenery right outside the large windows. The place was very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
We paid for on-site parking and were then told that if it's full you have to valet across the street. It would have been nice to know about the valet before paying for parking. We lucked out and someone left so we got a space at the hotel after all.
Late checkout, friendly staff, large rooms, clean.
Kind of noisy at night outside
Just a very clean place overall
Area is improving but not there yet. Lots of seedy characters walking the streets.
Clean & comfortable and very nice staff.

Very slow Wifi. No real breakfast. Every day same breakfast box.
Helpful personal. Nice and clean room.
The neighborhood was a tad sketchy, but I never felt scared and there was a lot of excellent places nearby
Excellent staff, facilities, room decor was fun. Everything was excellent!
Motion sensor in bathroom shut off while i was in the shower. $30 overnight parking
Decor of the room Cleanliness of the room Comfort
We loved this hotel. Great location, the rooms weren't your standard hotel room - they had great character and were nice and clean. Location was great and one block from the busy Market Street. The staff was very friendly, especially the maids. Would definitely stay here again, can't wait to go back!
The slooooow Internet at times! It worked fine - just not for streaming or watching YouTube videos!
The hotel was just as you see on the website! Such beautiful interiors and comfortable beds! The room was bigger than I expected too! It is in walking distance from all transport links and shops! The staff were also super lovely! Very relaxed vibe!
how long it took to authorize a 2nd party payment
