The location is very close to downtown and to the beach. The staff was very nice.
Internet was very slow. For such nice hotel, I expected it to be much faster.
Very nice hotel
Staff very helpful. Free tea and coffee. Large beds. Closeness to trolley stop.
Very noisy aircon. The first night we had a room above the laundry and it was like being inside a noisy washing machine!
Comfortable stay with a good breakfast. 1 washer and dryer on site for customers, which worked out well for us but I could see where there may be a lot of waiting time if others wanted to use it.
The pool was a little deep for younger children. It was 4-8 feet. The hotel was a little pricey.
Free parking (1 of the few places to still park free in Charleston), and ample overflow parking for large vehicles. Taxi fares about the same as most parking fees and the hotel is just over a mile from the historic district.
Bathroom is small, but functional.
There's a free bus network operating around the city with a stop near the car park entrance.
Has the feel of a hostel in and around the lobby area
The location was perfect for Matriculation day at the Citadel. Convenient to the historic district and all the great Charleston Restaurants.
We booked 2 adjoining rooms, but the hotel billed them separately. The clerk ran my credit card 6 times, which of course cause VISA to decline everything, and I had to use a different card. Included breakfast started too late in the morning. (There is a McDonald's right next door). Parking is just like everywhere else...Limited!
Hotel was clean and comfortable breakfast was very good
staff could have been friendlier and more helpful, A/C kept us up all night clicking on and off all night very loud.
It was a 10 minute drive from the historical district. The beds were the most comfortable I've ever had in a hotel.
Breakfast was very nice for the guests and plentiful.
Need additional parking, not enough. While staying at the hotel there was a blackout for three hours due to a lighting storm. Some water could have been given out to the guests while waiting for the lights to be turned back on. There was no air conditioning at this time.
Great room, great beds, clean, super friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, coffee and tea available all day, free parking.
Location wasn't really downtown
Rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. Wifi was free and fast. Free breakfast was substantial with a good variety of food. Coffee was always on!
Hotel did not have a shuttle to transport downtown.
Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent breakfasts - great value for money.
Had to take car to go anywhere - on main roads - nothing we could walk to.
Parking, noisy air conditioning so could not hear TV or sleep well. No back or side entry with room key...after parking, had to go back to front entrance of hotel which was inconvenient and not necessarily safe.
staff were good
first room a/c broke staff were prompt in moving us to new room however a/c in second room very noisy....breakfast food not very good
I'm having a hard time with this one... I liked some of the decor in the lobby.
-The staff was rude. -The Internet was out the entire first night we were there. -We had to park in a gravel lot. -They put us in a room for the disabled without asking us. -The room had fewer amenities (no bathtub, etc.), and we were not compensated for this difference. -When we called to ask why we were in a handicapped room, the front desk staff would not answer the phone. -When we called from an outside line, the staff answered, clearly half asleep, "Hello?" We asked whether this was the front desk, as he had not given a standard business greeting. He said it was. We explained that we were in a room without some basic features we had expected (and been promised online) at our price. He took a nasty attitude when he responded, "That's what you get for booking it through a third party website." -The air conditioning was loud and did not cool the room. -I have literally stayed in high-end Times Square hotels for less money per night. Obviously those hotels offered much better service and accommodations. To be honest, we expected better service in Charleston than we get in New York. We certainly didn't expect to pay more for significantly less and to be treated like dirt. We will never return to this hotel, though we already have plans to return to Charleston.
Breakfast was just OK
View of the harbor.
Rooms were clean and spacious, pool was nice and staff were friendly and helpful
Air con unit next to bed making sleep impossible! Breakfast was very limited and not kept topped up, flies in the room every day. Location looked a little dodgy with a boarded up building next door!
The comfortable beds and pillows! The breakfasts were generous. The decor was very pleasant.
Lighting in rooms was poor. No good place to read although room was spacious.
Beds were very comfortable. Very clean, and rooms were nice. Breakfast was great, and the pool was bigger and deeper than many hotel pools. Staff was all very welcoming, and especially the breakfast staff does a great job with keeping up with the rush in the morning.
OK price, free wifi, free parking
Not walkingdistance to the restaurant area,
Beds were very comfortable
Tub was dirty was not taken care of during my 2 night stay. Assistant manger was notified of the problem and was nice enough to take one nights stay off my room price. He thanked me for letting him know so he could fix the problem. The staff just said sorry about that...which is why I informed the assistant manager.
Room clean staff friendly
