Shower, aircon. Breakfast
Duvet in room dirty. Linen looked grubby. Hotel appeared eary
This facility is close to the Convention Center and is very professionally managed.
Some more Variety for Vegetarian or Indian Meal while buffet Breakfast...
Strange neighborhood. A couple of streets off the busy streets.
We liked the location for our needs...walking distance to piers on Hudson River for dinner cruise and sunset tour cruise. Front desk clerk "Quinn" very nice & helpful.
Entrance lobby was a bit dreary.
Nice choice for Breakfast and the rooms were clean and tidy
The room with twin double bed was very small, very difficult to walk around without getting in someone else's way!
Lack of facilities A little far from main area
The staff were great. Mike was particularly amazing. Travelling alone in my first visit to New York, he made sure he helped me to plan my day every day with directions and maps and even walked me out of the hotel everyday to point me in the right direction. On my last day, he even rang my room to make sure I was up in time for my airport shuttle! The whole team including Marcy and the other lady at the front desk were absolutely fantastic! The room though not very big was spacious enough and always very clean. The bed was ver comfortable though the pillows could be better. The shower pressure and hot water were perfect.
The smell of pee at the hotel entrance :-(
Close to time square etc Comfy beds! Best resturant just round the corner
Small rooms Right outside is taxi machanic so was very noisy at night
area has so many homeless , scarly for women
Rooms were clean and comfortable, wifi worked well. They facilitated my need for quiet and place me on a high floor away from the elevators and frequent trafficking. Knowing I had free breakfast was OK but never really utilized the services. Location was ok, walked to most places.
Rooms smelt a bit mouldy when left closed up for the day, but leaving the AC on corrects that. Otherwise BW is a good place to stay at.
The cleanliness of the rooms, excellent free breakfast and helpful staff made the hotel a good base from which to visit many sites in central New York.
The actual street where the hotel was located was not very salubrious though it was quiet enough!
I found the location for my conference at the Javits Center to be ideal. Five minutes walk and you're there. I also walked to Times Square and that only took about 20 minutes so the location is decent. The room was clean, the breakfast was ok (typical continental breakfast). The staff were very good. They helped me a few times with directions and airport shuttle setup. Overall, besides my comments in the "didn't" like section, it was a decent stay. Good for single travelers who want to save money.
The major issue I had was that you couldn't close the drapes in the room. There was a sheer over the window and drapes on either side, but you couldn't close them. I need dark to sleep and once the sun came up, so did I. Also I found the single elevator to be a bit of an inconvenience. Especially in the morning when people were checking out or going down for breakfast. It was often cramped or took a while to arrive.
It had a good location and was within walking distance from attractions.
They overbooked the double rooms so my family of 4 had to split 2 king rooms. We booked in February and stayed in July.
The price was probably the cheapest I could find within NYC for the weekend we were there. Our room was ready early and the beds were fine. It was very basic but good for if you won't be in the hotel much.
There were few amenities, there was no conditioner, the towels were not very clean and it is right near a train which did wake us up a few times.
We were in NYC for one week, and basically needed somewhere to sleep and shower. This hotel was that and a little more; comfortable king size bed, bathroom facilities adequate. Included breakfast was convenient and more than adequate range of options. Wifi fast and reliable. Only 10-15 min walk to Times Square, taxi mechanic across the road so easy to get a cab when needed. Would definitely stay again, very affordable for NYC and also away from the hustle and bustle for some relief. Close to Hell's Kitchen for endless choice in restaurants.
It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Penn Station which is one of the closest subway stations, and the most convenient for JFK airport connection ($7 in a taxi to get to station for transfer to airport on the LIRR). Pizza place located en route so nice stop off for a $1 NYC slice of pizza on the way home late at night (we literally were only in room to sleep!) Situated in the garment district, not a great area; smelly and lots of homeless people lining the streets, however never felt unsafe.
It is rigth by the Javitz
They have no space to receive boxes in asvance and they charged me for keeping it overnight. Now i know.
Staff treat was very efficient. All room very clean
No cooler inside the room
Great location near Javitts. Friendly staff. Food & coffee in morning. Convenient computer/printer for checking e-mail & printing boarding passes.
Were remodeling while we were there -mess and hard to check in. New wallpaper is a dark print - very gloomy & wrong for a below-street- level-no-windows lobby. Did not have as many food-delivery menus/flyers as in the past.
Close to the city centre. Staff generally polite and helpful.
In a run-down area. Opposite a 24 hour taxi repair shop, so sleep disturbed by grinding, banging and drilling on a number of nights. Manager rude and unhelpful.
Convenient location to the main areas of the city, excellent staff and a good breakfast bar.
We arrived during major renovations which didn't add to the general ambience of the hotel but we got round it and enjoyed our stay.
Arriving early at the hotel from the newark airport, they let us have a room to get our much needed rest.
rate is so expensive, under contruction mess, failing monoxide loud beep detector everynight (have to go front desk to resolve right away), at check out,i explained we are not satisfied, is there a way to win us back by giving a discount, the clerk said , only manager can give discount , but he never called the manager.
ONLY, the location
The entrance is awful: dirty outside, messy an unwellcome inside. They were doing renovations without advising in the websites (including Booking). They didn´t respect the parking price announced, and also didn´t want to offer a discount for all those inconveniences. The rooms, although clean and well equipped, are too small. I don´t recommend this place at all. Very disappointed.
I can't say that I liked much.
They were under construction and even some sort of warning makes it a little less shocking. The price of the room for the quality I found was too much. I felt the room did not feel clean and it seemed very bizarre to me when I wondered whether I was in a renovated room or not. That does not say much for the hotel. I think when I got to reception at 5am, asked the front desk (who at first was nowhere to be found) if they could call me a taxi and his answer was "it will take 15 minutes or you can walk up the street". Uhmmm, okay Ill walk up the street with my luggage thanks. Just a small note: small rooms are what many NY hotels are about HOWEVER when the bed is pushed up against the window and is 6 inches away from the AC I feel like this is so badly thought out. Why do hotels not get a room checker? Rm 107, right beside the elevator as well.
