Best Western Desert Villa Inn  

Staff; Booking.Com reservation was not sent to location/office; but staff agreed to price and gave us a room upgrade. Breakfast was complete with many options - all fresh and resupplied.

When we returned from breakfast the bedding had been stripped and towels removed. it would have been nice to wait for these actions until we checked out, which we did well ahead of schedule.

rooms smelled like dirty feet. 70's decor banged up and chipped furniture hard beds very cheap looking for the price we spent on two rooms Smell was terrible I should have brought my cat with his litter box and it would have smelled better Cheap bedding and pillows Breakfast should be until noon, check out time

Toliet tank wouldn't refill without opening it up and tweaking.. BreAKFAST FARE WAS WEAK.

I stayed one night in Desert Inn being on the way to Los Angeles. Stopping in Barstow is a great way to pass through Route 66 and I would recommend doing this bit passing through Seligman, Arizona on Route 66 as well. It's located in a typical american town. Nothing bad to say about the hotel. Noice spacious rooms, big bed, very clean room. Swimming pool looked clean as well.

Very clean, wonderful bedding and pillows. Great location and close to restaurants to choose from.

I should have asked for a first floor room before check in. I am partially disabled, and don't do stairs very good. All first floor rooms were taken by the time we checked in.

Decent amount of space and would be possible to self cater on a limited basis

Staff were unhelpful, particularly the catering/kitchen staff. Breakfast stocks were not replenished and as we were breakfasting at 9.00 (9.30 finish) we were faced with empty/half empty bowls of yogurts, cereal etc and had to ask the staff who were all huddled in the kitchen, gossiping and avoiding work. At 9.30 sharp the door to the breafast area was locked and I needed to ask one of the staff to let me out! On checking in I asked for a quiet room and was allocated a ground floor room, nearest to the roadway/busy trainline and next door to the gym-needless to say I asked to be moved as this is not my definition of quiet!

We were pleasanly surprised to find the hotel on a main highway, quiet, clean and pleasant. It served us well on our route.

The nighlight in the bathroom that could not be shut off was very annoying. I like the room to be dark.
