Best Western PLUS Gateway Hotel  

my husband had surgery at St. Johns HOspital and the location was perfect. Wish there was an outdoor type place to sit and read or hatever during nice weather...pool? I needed an extra night and the staff was very accomodating and helpful. My husband ws not going t5o be released so it was a difficult situation.

I was quoted $159 on the internet iwhen I checked out they charged me $169 why did they do that

finally I could open a window in a hotel! Fee Wi-Fi + IHOP serve great breakfasts.

the staff was great,called to say i was on Amtrak and would be checking in late, no problem.

the use of fluresent lamps (blue white) is so cold and the worst light for skin and just feeling like the room colors are not pretty. A warmer lamp color would help!

Good, clean, friendly and conventiently located hotel with a free shuttle, weekday, bus service to Santa Monica Pier/Beach and a resturant next door for breakfast, dinner or take-out.

The hotel was not the cleanest. The bedding had turned grey from white, the sheets were not ironed. The carpets were worn and the whole place was tired.

The shuttle bus to the Pier/Shopping area was handy and the IHOP next door was convenient. The decor was a bit dated, but everything was clean and worked efficiently.

Place in the comment section if there's discount for St Johns employees, I was told there is but I should have called this hotel directly.

I enjoyed my stay in the best western the staff were very good in all requests, the bed is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in really was amazing. The free wifi and parking was such a main reason why we stayed there considering the other hotels charging the money for those facilities but the best western has the right idea. Having the ihop next door with discount for residents is also very handy indeed

There is only one bad thing about my stay was the walls, the walls are thin so if someone has there aircon or bathroom light on you can hear it, there was times where me and my wife couldn't sleep due to this buzzing noise. I'm not sure what the hotel can do to stop this but it won't really stop me from staying there again the positives do outweigh the negatives
