Staff was friendly/efficient. My room was on the 8th floor facing an apartment complex. I did not hear any trains or traffic at night. The room was very clean & did not smell of smoke. No musty smell. Bed sheets were not scratchy, pillows were comfortable & the bed had a down-like comforter. Bathroom had shampoo but no conditioner. I especially appreciated that the room was cool when I initially entered it - the air conditioner worked wonderfully, keeping the room very cool. The lobby was a bit on the humid side, though. When I first arrived in the room, the door wouldn't lock when I was going to leave (I always check the door handle to ensure the door locks). I called the front desk & a maintenance person responded within 5 minutes. He found the batteries were dead in the door locking mechanism & fixed the problem within 10 minutes. The hotel does have an older decor, but I didn't care as long as the room was clean. Hotel is a short walk to/from the 11th St/Museum Campus train stop. Nice to have Grant Park right across the street. Free wi-fi worked just fine. Felt safe walking around in the area. Valet parking. Elevator lift was old but could pack in say 5-7 adults. Walk to Chicago Hilton was 2 blocks, not bad. Subway & Starbucks is 1 block South, easy walk. Popular restaurant "Yolk" was right next door. There's usually a taxi or two waiting outside the lobby. The walls are very thin - it was very late at night & I could hear people partying in the room next to me & you can hear doors slam. Bathroom is small. I did see a 2-inch cockroach meandering around the bottom of a stairway in the lobby on Day 1 of my stay. I cannot confirm if this pest just came in off from the street or if it has a permanent residence already somewhere in the hotel. I made a mental note not to eat in the restaurant off the lobby area just in case. No official "concierge" & I didn't see any bellhops. No breakfast.

Wonderful location right in the South Loop area of Chicago, and across from Grant Park. It was also within easy walking distance from the l train, which I took from the airport. There's also a restaurant next door that had a full breakfast buffet plus a to-go coffee area. There's nothing luxurious about this hotel but I think it was fine for the price.

This is a great downtown Chicago value! We've stayed before & always request a high floor due to busy street noise. They are clean, convenient (although not on in a shopping area) and in a very safe area of downtown. The staff is excellent with secure parking. If you want luxury - this isn't the place... If you prefer a great value with a nice bar & restaurant that is clean and has plenty of amenities ... this is a wonderful find!

when booking the room I specifically asked for 2 beds as I was traveling with a friend of mine. upon check-in I was told that we would be staying in a room with only a queen-size bed. I asked if we could have a room the following day with 2 beds and was told that in order to do that we would need to be out of our room by 10:00 a.m., leave our luggage behind the desk and that another room may be avialnle to fit our needs after 3:00 p.m. I was incredibly dissatisfied with the hotel and how they handled my needs.

Convenient access to the public transportation routes I needed Couldn't get my room warm. I recognize that conditions were unusual, with low temperatures and high winds, and every place I went in Chicago during my stay was having difficulty keeping interior space comfortable

The WiFi is not very strong and very slow. They charged my bank account more then what I was required to pay. The walls are pretty thin so you hear everything that is going on around you. The restaurant attached to the hotel is ok. I was not very pleased with the Grant Park location.

The Location and the prize. Some of the front desk people were also helpful. The room was not clean and a little bir old/fashioned. My room was on 9th Floor, the wind exactly was blowing in my room and It was terribly cold even the heater was opened all day and night which heated only itself. I strongly suggest that you choose another floor and a proper heater. I asked to reception about that the lady said she will call someone to look at it but that someone never came during my stay. Moreover, the Internet was terribly slow, It makes you crazy during your stay.

I had a really good experience with Best Western Grant Park. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We arrived four hours early and had selected an incorrect bedroom type from Booking.com (1 queen bed instead of 2, but I'm not sure if that option was available on the website, I could have missed it), but the staff accommodated us immediately and in the 2 queen bed room, even giving us our choice of Chicago skyline or Grant Park views. Microwave and fridge were in upgraded rooms-- they should be standard!

Close to mass transit and several museums. The adjoining restaurant, Mei's Kitchen, was excellent. Hotel needs updating, it was clean, but looks a bit 'worn'. Also, cleaning staff starts cleaning before 7:30 A.M.--which is too early if you're on vacation.

It was old and run down. The curtains were falling down in our room and for $229.00 plus parking a taxes, it definately was very overpriced. We would never stay there again.
