Score from 768 reviews Very good
no bfreakfast included the hotel is old and bad isolated (thin windows) the room was clean but old fashionned.
I loved the location. We were able to walk to Soldier Field, and all the other attraction.
Male Staff very helpful and friendly Good location
No Fridge Decor needs to be updated
No breakfast service included
location service no extra fees free wifi friendly staff
outdated decor no updated amenities not a lot of staff on hand
The location of this hotel is outstanding right on Michigan Ave. The room I had on the fourth floor had a great view of Michigan Ave and Grant Park with the Field Museum in the background. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped for the leisure or the business traveller. This is not the Ritz or the Marriott or the Sheraton or the Hilton but it is a great value for the money
The attached restaurant was dark and scary looking and in 2 days I never saw any patrons in it. The hallways were tired, dark and dingy looking and the elevators smelled bad. Paint and new carpet should fix this. The rooms were much better. Also the entrance is a bit awkward to navigate but it looked like they were working on fixing that.
Excellent location, we were able to walk to the magnificent mile to do some shopping and also walked to Navy Pier. We had a car with us this cost an extra 38 dollars parking per night which we were aware of. Very handy though. Rooms were clean, very dated hotel but the price is very good. Staff were good. Overall perfect hotel.
Location and room are quite ok. Staff are very friendly and helpful!
Price, but actually in Chicago there are no cheap hotels. Bathroom should be cleaner.
Good wifi, and friendly staff
They did not have basic facilities in standard rooms like fridge, microwave oven, sleepers etc. Even on checkout I needed something to gauge the weight of my bags but they did not have anything.
The location and thats about it
The service of staff and how they did not pay attention to anything we wanted. I had alot of problems with the payment for the hotel. Very bad managment.
location, good bed
low quality furnishings, hallways, lobby, 2-3 star. a little pricey for the quality of the accommodation, its all location.
Location, comfortable beds and pillows, value
Outdated décor, paper thin walls, noise in hallway
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Answered all of our questions about the area ect.
The hallways and vending areas are a bit run down and worn looking.
The location for a Bears game was great. We could walk to the game and there are a lot of entertainment opportunities within a short distance of the facility. Price was the most affordable in the area.
The facility is old and not in the best condition. The room was cramped and not updated. The service was adequate but not proactive in helping guests. We knew we would sacrifice some of these things for price....and we did.
well located near the loop while not inside
too noisy. My room was next to the elevator and I have been awaked several times during every nigth I stayed in this hotel . The hotel is close to a railway station.
Easy access to transport museum campus metra station just across the bridge for visiting Hyde Park, walking distance to museums, Roosevelt redline station and two supermarkets behind hotel. Comfy bed, nice big tv, good wifi for free in rooms.
Bathroom not as nice as bedroom'plastic' bath and splashbacks a little mouldy at the edges, faucets very stiff and dripping.
Good Value for downtown!
Maid waking us up @ 9:00 am to clean the room. We didn't go to sleep till 4:00, My niece was her from Fla and haven't seen her in years so we were up talking till 4:00 am . Did not like being woke up because once someone wakens me can't get back to sleep.
Location Valet Parking
Hotel is to old and rundown. Other than location, it has no real benefit. Not a good deal for the money. I've had much better accommodations in Chicago for same or better price.
My daughter's necklace was dropped down the sink drain. This necklace means so much to her that when she was told, she had instant tears. My friend went to go down to the lobby to ask about maintenance and she was back within one minute with the manager. He called for a maintenance man to remove the pipe. Daughter is still crying and comforting her wasn't doing any good. Maintenance was in our room within 2 minutes with tools in hand. It took him all of 3 minutes to remove the pipe and hand my daughter her necklace. Instant dryness and a smile. It took all of about 10 minutes from start to finish. I commend the fast work of the manager and maintenance man.
I took my daughter to the One Direction Concert at Soldier Field. I picked the Best Western because of the distance it said it was online. I was pleasantly surprised at how close it actually was!! Perfect for everything! We had an end room so we had 2 huge windows to look out of. The pool is located on the 3rd floor with great views and perfect for pictures. All in all it was a great time and I would stay again in a heartbeat. Valet parking was easy too!!
The restaurant, Meis Kitchen, is only only open for breakfast. Despite what it says online. I had researched the menu and was looking forward to being able to eat here for most of our stay, however that didnt happen. If you want to eat, you have to leave. They might want to include this information on their website for people who are out of state and researching their stay.
decent place, clean, wifi, central
I had some problem with my card payment, the night I arrived two payments were made on my card and the staff couldn't see them. This kind of problem can happen(although this never happened to me before), and the staff was nice, trying to help me finding a solution for the first night. But in the following days they were not very prompt with clarifying the problem with the bank, and I had to call my bank every day. Maybe not their fault, but in the end a lot of stress
That I was able to book a room downtown, at the last minute, on Labor Day weekend (there was a mix-up at our other hotel). Its location was very convenient for the purposes of our visit and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel was very shabby and almost dilapidated: poorly lit hallways, slow elevators, outdated and mismatched decor. And it was VERY short-staffed considering it was a holiday weekend and all the hotels were packed with tweens/teens for a sold-out concert at Soldier Field...
Location- close to Soldier Field where my kids were attending a concert and we could easily walk there and explore the Michigan Avenue area. Close to some good restaurants.
Bathroom drain in shower was clogged. Asked to have it fixed and they said they did it but was still clogged the next day. Expensive- $199 per night. Room was quite small, no refrigerator, noise from outside- could hear everything. Never enough towels in the bathroom for the four of us staying in the room. Had to get more both days we were there.
Location-walking distance to Soldier Field and Grant Park, Friendly staff. Good breakfast
very dated and worn, long wait at check in because rooms were not ready. No onsite bar or restaurant except for Breakfast
Very poor guest parking, long wait for room, empty vending machines on all floors, expected more for the price
