Staff conscientous and pleasant. Location (room facing the Park & Lake).
Noisy outside my door at 2 to 3 a m. Fitness Room machines not maintained. Weight machine broken. Lobby grim, in need of a makeover.
Noisy. Run down
Clean for the price..
Booked a king arrived just before 3pm check in they gave us 2 twin beds on a low floor very loud..
Staff are polite and very accessible even in the early morning. Bed is very comfortable!!! Two computers in the lobby are very helpful with some seatings near by - great use of the space. (My husband was waiting for me comfortably while I was using a PC.)
Next door neighbor made a lot of noise. However I was too tired to complain to the hotel staff. It could be that some renovation or small fixing of the structure was going on on the night of 10/23.
needs rehabitating. /acoustic ceiling in the bathroom(?) falling off ceiling. Same in the bedroom.
In the room beside the windows carpet saturated and discolored due to leak possibly from the window.
Location Free in-room wireless Free wireless and printer in lobby
Lobby area was not appealing at all.
The location was nice. Quick acces to a taxi. Plenty of places to walk to. Thank goodness it was clean.
The hotel is very old and in dire need of a renovation. Sink was falling out of the vanity. Old bedding. Just was dated.
Small Pillow, and no room service at the night
Location: directly across from the park. Short walk to either the subway or bus stops. Close to local supermarket. Bed: so clean and comfortable. Like sleeping on a cloud. Staff: very happy and helpful. Room: lovely quiet corner room with great view of the park and beyond. Bathroom: good water pressure for the shower. Computer and printer for guests to use free of charge.
Cracks in footpath outside of the hotel. (I know these aren't the hotel's responsibility but I tripped on them several times).
The best western grant park hotel is very well located! In the heart if Michigan avenue and in front if grant park. I think is a really good option to be in the hot spot if the city at an affordable price.
I think they can improve the cleaning on the common areas (like te carpet on the elevator that even had a bad smell)
The area is very nice The person managing the restaurant was very attentive and willing to help. I did not eat there, but he allowed me to sit and work as the hotel was not ready for me.
All the staff at the front desk were rude: from the moment I tried to check in from the moment I checked out. The aisles to get to the rooms feel old and the carpet looks dirty. The floors in general don't look nice.
Charging top price for a hotel desperate in need of a renovation. Entrance doors where antique as was most of the hotel. Bad area for beggars.
Close to where we wanted to go.
I wasn't aware that there is a charge $39.99 per night for parking lot. Booked for a king bed but got two twin beds instead.
It was a place to sleep.
The fitness center had broken equipment. I solely chose this hotel based on the fitness center amenities and the weight system in the photographed area was more than half broken. You need to fix this. I should have known not to book a best western due to another location in FL that I stayed at having the same issue. Oh, and your "vending area"?has ond vending machine that's 75% empty with only three rows of granola bars. Time for an upgrade on a few fronts.
I had selected bestwetern for the pricies as I looked for a within $100- $150 and so when i saw a rate of $145 per day I was elated and made my booking thinking all taxes have been included. However, it was at the point of checking out of the hotel that contrary to the prices I booked for a $315 was charged for the third day. I was and I am still very erate about this
room was very clean and the beds were comfy
Location and price
Older property, expensive city parking
Staff made plenty of honest effort that impressed me. Good memories of this place. Great location.
The first room I was offered was unsatisfactory but they quickly changed it and even gave me a free upgrade.
no bfreakfast included the hotel is old and bad isolated (thin windows) the room was clean but old fashionned.
I loved that we were able to book our room online as a spare of the moment thing and since we were out and about in the city I did not have to spend 30minutes filling out to much info online and was able to do it when we checked in at the hotel. Also the price was excellent! Our view was great of the city from our room.
The parking was full at the hotel.
I loved the location. We were able to walk to Soldier Field, and all the other attraction.
wE THOUGHT THE LOCATION WOULD BE GREAT ---IT WASN'T. ALSO THOUGHT A BEST WESTERN MOTEL WOULD BE UP SCALE A LITTLE BIT--IT WASN'T
VERY OLD. VERY SMALL AND OLD. POOL CLOSED FOR THE IT WAS AN OUTDOOR POOL!SEASON.PARKING WAS TERRIBLE.THE INTERNET AD DID NOT INDICATE ANY OF THIS. SMALLEST ELEVATORS IN THE WORLD!
You get what you spend, a little cheaper but definitely a good deal
