Maingate Lakeside Resort  

I like everything about the resort. It was family oriented, great amenities for everyone of all ages, great location, great price. Even though it was an older resort and smaller, it was still overall a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends and would come back.

The only thing I did not like was that it did not have a microwave in the room.. That was an inconvenience to go to lobby to use microwave for me, since I traveled with my elderly mother who needed to have certain foods heated up. And my niece was with with her baby and needed to heat up her food as well.

The man at the front desk was very rude. I also called several times before we arrived to see if it was ok to ck in after 5 and no answer. I left a message and no call was returned. I called the front desk twice from the room, no answer. When we arrived with print out of reservation they stated no room was held and did not charge us rate we were quoted. I emailed booking.com and they stated they spoke with someone and reservation was held. Front desk denied receiving a call.

Outstanding breakfast! Easy access to pool and our room being on first floor. Location excellent.

Pool chaise lounges need to be replaced. Building numbers hard to read at night,especially because of unfamilliarity to property.

It was near alot of eateries and recreation.

It was run down. The staff was less than friendly. There were no salutations, coming or going. The "putt putt" needs to be either updated or removed...an eyesore for the guests!!

for the value price it was out date buildings, rooms, furniture,bathroom smelled,TOO small, no actual bed covers just sheets? Dusty by the way...

It was close to Disney and I loved the cafe'.

Our room was not cleaned after our first night and no coffee was left and even the counter was dirty. Not sure I would stay here again.

The staff was very helpful and accomodating. I liked the playground and mini golf; we especially liked the heated pool.

First, we were given room 555. This room had not been cleaned and it smelled of mold and mildew (we later found out that our neighbor in 563 had been given this room as well); Chris immediately put us in 563. This room smelled much better; however, a light bulb was out and there was only one pillow to each bed. These two issues were corrected within five minutes. This room could stand to have the shower head replaced but we were able to shower, so we did not report this as a problem. The only "real" issue in my opinion was the cleaning staff who tried three times (starting at 8:30am) to enter the room before the 12:00pm check-out time. On the last time, my seven-year-old was awake and I was in the shower. It scared him to death as he thought someone was trying to get in to hurt us. I notified the front desk when we checked out and they credited my account the resort fee for one night ($10).

This is the third time we have stayed here and will stay again if we are in the area because we like the motel.

Closeness to attractions. Price was ok, but hotel definitely needs some better cleaning staff and upgrades.

General upkeep of grounds bad (mini-golf - leaves/garbage everywhere). No towels at pool, had to tell front desk. Wifi only in lobby and generally didn't even work there. Had hair and pubic hair in washroom, gross. Floor stained everywhere. Upgade T.v's, have flat screens in lobby, but crappy old tube T.v's in rooms. The way the front desk sends you to the guy on the other side of the hallway so he can try to convince you to go to a resort meeting for 2 hours (probably a time share) and mask it as a "welcome package". Didn't get any "welcome package" from the guy, just a long drawn out explaination of a resort I couldn't care a less about.

We like the location, price, and pools.

Rooms need to be updated/remodeled to include newer furniture, flat screen TVs, etc. WiFi was not working during our stay & ended up costing me an extra $60 for cell/smart data plan overages!!

I love the location. Like some of the upgrades on draperies, carpeting, and bedding.

Older furnishings, lack of maintenance on some room items such as missing light bulbs, non-working clock, loose faucets, non-working drain. Poor lock system on door left an insecure feel.

There were plenty of restaurants to eat at close to the resort

There was no internet in the rooms The rooms got cleaned at random times of the day The night receptionist was not friendly at all, it was like we were an inconvenience to her when we checked out early in the morning. The price of breakfast was expensive for the choice which is why we only had it once. I would recommend for someone if they were going to Disney

Handy location for Orlando attractions. Swimming pools, Breakfast area.

Resort is obviously suffering finacially with far more competition for business in the area since our last visit. Small signs that staff numbers have been cut back, services reduced to save money etc. No Wifi in rooms despite being advertised. Rubbish building up round bins for days not being emptied daily. Staff were moaning about working there. Cheap entertainment put on in inappropriate areas like Karaoki in the area outside the rooms where children were trying to sleep till almost 11 pm. .

The price and convenient location

Was good value for money when all taken into consideration.

$10 per room per night charge for leisure services was not mentioned in booking information. Our stays were for one night and two nights only so we were not able to make use of the facilities to which this charge relates. The resort could do with some updating. However, when considering actual costs it represented reasonable value for money.

I had stayed 2 nights total..split in the week. First room we stayed in was fine. Second room we stayed in had ants...the door seemed broken but locked...and the ac was turning on and off..I had called to report that situation..but of course then it worked...

The hotel is ideally located to all the Theme Parks. This has been my fifth time staying here. It served all of my purposes.

This is the second year in a row that there was no coffee maker in the room when I checked in.

I did like the breakfast buffet, only good spot of the hotel. The drink prices were way to high. I paid less at Universal then I did at the hotel really!

We have stayed at the Maingate Lakeside Resort for many years (it has been a few different hotel names) and I was very disappointed this trip. The room needed some heavy duty cleaning and repairs. If you like coffee in the morning bring your own pot! For a king size bed they could have had fitted sheets and supplied more then 3 pillows. Never got room service even though the cart sat outside the room for 3 hours. When we returned to the room at 1:30 they wanted to come in and clean. No thanks it should have been down while we were at poolside. Oh and free wifi not if you are in building 1, 2 or 3 they only had dsl!
