Very good,
Score from 22 reviews
“ The staff was incredible! I was greeted with a "gift basket" of water bottles and granola bars when I checked in. Free continental breakfast included scrambled eggs and bacon: much more enjoyable than just stale bagels and fruit. Free shuttle to the Metro is included. Did I mention how amazing the staff was?! ”

The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The staff was extremely friendly as well as helpful. I also enjoyed how the hotel was located very close to down town Alexandria and less then a mile from the metro into D.C. The hot foods at breakfast left much to be desired.

Spotless, very accomodating for airport, metro and Old Town Alexandria shuttle, excellent staff. About 9-10 block walk to Old Town near the Potomac. Beautiful area! Pleasantly decorated and well maintained property! No elevator but only has two floors and believe they would be very accomodating if necessary for lst floor room. We had no problem with the stairs. There is a lift for the lower level breakfast area.

The exterior of the hotel. The business center. The beds were very comfortable. The airport shuttle home was very timely and courteous. My needs for 4 nights of housekeeping were never taken care of. Repeated requests to desk staff were noted, still there was no change. I returned after plenty of leg work in sight seeing and returned to wet towells and unmade beds, no new room products, coffee, soap, shampoo. The management never contacted me after my repeater tries. I left the hotel with an "open bill" and a promise that the manager would call me or email me. This never happened and four days later I was slapped with the full 700+ bill for my stay. I will have to fight the hotel for an equitable charge. (Wish me luck) There is no elevator for the first "sunken floor" or the second floor. You must drag your bags up. No attention is paid to your printed confirmation. I reserved the king room and was shown, late at night to a queen room. I was too exhausted to complain at 10pm after driving from Boston to the hotel and when mentioned the following day, an offer to move all my things on my own to a lower room(4 flights of stairs) was unappealing. It was Mother's day. I had a brunch date with my daughter whom I came to visit. Management is the poorest I have ever had the pleasure of not meeting. I am a points reward member of B.W. and always try to stay at one nearby when traveling. This was so disappointing, unless you just want to rack for the night and need no services, I would never reccomend this Old Colony.

The staff was very helpful. They even made several calls and tried to rebook me as the AC was out. They also called me a cab in the morning and were very friendly. They also took half off my bill due to the AC issue. The AC was out and the room was 80 degrees.

Loved the cost and cleanliness. Very helpful staff and the breakfast is perfect. Wasn't happy at all being woken up by the shower water of the room above us leaking through the ceiling. You could tell by the markings on the ceiling this wasn't the first time this has happened. So very disappointed.

The staff was kind and helpful, the free shuttle from the hotel to anywhere in the historic district was awesome! The ac went out the night we stayed, needless to say we didn't sleep too well with temps at 90 that day. That said the hotel did give us a 30% discount on our stay for the discomfort.

I loved their customer service The housekeeper took our face towels and when we called to get some they did not have any. The front desk rep stated I would need to walk down and get some hand towels from the front desk. No elevator either.

Hotel is clean. Staff is friendly and apologetic (see what I didn't like) The hotel is an older building. I guess older construction/thin walls made it VERY noisy. You can hear every voice, every footstep, every door close (the doors are especially loud). I will never stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Great value for the money. Perfectly located--close to everything, easy to access. Good hot breakfast is better than most motels and free! Big room. Definitely a motel--but you cannot beat the price! Our luggage was lost & they provided the essentials complimentary. Also free iced water in the lobby. Lots of amenities for such a low price! Didn't seem the cleanest...not dirty or grungy per se but corners and hard to reach places could have been disinfected/cleaned. All linens were fresh and spotless though.

The facility and service were exceptionally good. They went out of their way to be helpful, shuttling us to and from the airport, train station and different locations in town. Beds very comfortable and everything worked perfectly.

It was a really quick trip to downtown DC by car and a short trip by tram. The hotel had a complimentary van to take us to the station and that was really convenient.
