Location and friendly staff
The bed was not very comfortable.
Comfortable well appointed room free wi fi good breakfast
Staff, cleanliness, location
wall heater could wake the dead. Turned off and stayed a bit cool instead.,
Location View from room and balcony Fireplace
Parking, on our first night there was limited parking, and only on the street
I was not happy as I paid for a suite and got a Reg Room. The room had a musty smell. It was for my husbands B day. We were dissappointed with the room and I paid top dollar for it. I have used Best Western before and always happy. I feel ripped off on this one. Will not go there again. Elaine Rudloff
Location, cleanliness easy in and out place.
The sound of the vacuum cleaner at 6 am.
TV only had one channel and needed updating
Walking Location to restaurants and shopping and good parking. Refurbished older rooms, good clean bathroom. Great view!
Old fashioned furnishings! Time delays on elevator, stairs for high floors!
Where do I start? The personnel are super attentive, professional and friendly. The room was gorgeous, large, fireplace and that's all I'm going to say cuz I wouldn't want it to be hard to reserve again! lol We will definitely be back and this will be our fav Carmel-by-the-sea get-away!
One small cleanliness issue but it was taken care of right away...more counterspace would've been nice. And having a microwave available, too.
I like the convenient location within downtown Carmel. It is an easy walk to all attractions that Carmel has to offer. The rooms were clean and offered fire places. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is decent for a continental fare and offers scrambled eggs and sausages.
The rooms are extremely noisy. The car noise from outside is unbearable since it is on a busy road. Room insulation is poor, and is like sharing the bed with your neighboring room, including being forced to listen along with lusty lovemaking. The plywood floors above are squeaky, squeaky, squeaky, and need to be screwed down instead of nailed. The staff was ho-hum upon checkout, and didn't even bother to ask "how was your stay?". Cannot recommend due to noise issue!
Helpful front desk staff. Free parking.
Long black hair on the bathroom wall.
Location and parking which is like gold dust in Carmel. The view of the Pacific from our balcony was great
Very small breakfast room which always seemed congested
Rooms attractive with fireplace, tub and shower, nice breakfast each day , close to town, staff helpful.
The rooms were very warm/stuffy at night, hard to sleep, little ventilation and no A/C.
close to stores, close to highway 1; clean
Noisy open corridors. B'fast room noisy and crowded. Room not equipped like many we've stayed in: no desk for laptop; no mini-fridge.
Balcony View Fireplace
Absence of coffee to go with the coffee equipment in the room. Price of room v. Overall experience. Ambience of the check-in area leaves much to be desired. Breakfast area was continuously paraded by cleaning staff carrying towels, vacuums, etc. Bath amenities were bbarebone.
location good. View decent. Close to a local market was very convenient. Grounds were well-kept.
No comfortable chairs. No AC. This has never happened in any hotel in my life. I could not get into the shower safely. Or at all. My husband, who is taller and athletic, had a hard time. The tub/shower had sliding glass doors which gave room to enter, but the grab bar was placed on the back wall in the center close to the top of the tub. It could not be reached to facilitate entrance or exit. The placement of the sink at the left entrance to the tub and the sink on the opposite side, required someone entering the tub to squeeze in at an angle. With glass doors, this was not safe, especially with nothing to hang onto. A shower is important to a traveller, this first-time experience means no recommendation
Location, cleanliness, parking
the room had a slight odor
The location to Carmel shops and restaraunts is perfect. Room was clean and the breakfast was good.
Breakfast room was small but overall okay. Parking is limited to first come first serve!
The hotel itself is quite nice if a bit chintzy and old fashioned. It has a good location close to shops and a very good deli next door. The pool is great and heated (I believe). Good selection of food for breakfast including eggs and bacon or sausage.
We booked this very nice looking hotel after 3 sleepless nights in a Travelodge in San Francisco. We had hope for peace and quite and 2 descent nights sleep to recharge our batteries. The occupants of the room above us had other ideas. They spent half the night wondering about their bedroom making the floorboards creak and groan! Make sure you eat early in Carmel - some restaurants close at 8.30pm. We were told Carmel is for the newly wed and the nearly dead!
What a great place to stay, one of the most fantastic places I have ever been Great stop over between the hustle and bustle of San Francisco and Los Angeles Highly reconended
The town is old and quirky. The beach is amazing and everything is in walking distance. The hotel is in a perfect location and the staff were great. Free Hot breakfast including waffles was a great surprise.
Staff was polite Room was clean
The room was not sound proof. The pool was small. Breakfast was poor
The location was right next to the downtown area - close to lots of restaurants and shopping.
There was only one miniature elevator. Barely fit me (tiny) and my 2 suitcases. It was the only way to reach the breakfast room - no stairs to that floor.
