Helpful staff, good location. Room was a decent size for NY
Issues with the water and was close to a fire station so was on the noisy side
Friendly staff, cosy small room, great location
Room smelt like wet carpet, fan in the shower didn't work, plumbing noises woke us up almost every day for ten minutes between 6-7am
We could only get cold water from the shower. Disappointed in the breakfast menu and facility.
Location is fantastic, clean rooms, bathroom was tiny but not a problem. Would stay again as the location was fantastic and it's a nice hotel.
Staff at reception were not very helpful, one woman answered my questions without even looking up at me which I found very rude, she had a attitude like ...don't bother me. The others were ok but could have been a bit friendly.
Dirty bathroom No wifi in the bedroom No hoover - lot of bits hair everywhere I'm dispointment
Booked a double room but was given a single when they knew I was travelling on my own, so bit disappointed as room was very small
The roaches in the room and slow drain in bathroom sink.
We liked being so close to Times Square, all the Broadway theatres and a subway station.
The hotel's decor is very tired and dated, our room faced onto 8th Avenue with a busy Fire Station beneath and we needed earplugs to sleep. But other than there not being a kettle in the room, but the great location made up for this.
The air conditioning/ heater didn't work. The mattresses/pillows were beyond bad. I don't think this hotel has ever upgraded anything. The tv didn't work, the pipes in the bathroom were so loud, you felt like they were going to explode. When we opened the sofa bed, it had dirty sheets and blankets, never changed.
The personnel was very helpful.
The hotel is old but what's important is the room. The room was clean, average size and the bathroom was clean and updated some what but some improvement should be done. Couldn't adjust the thermostat in the room, it was really to hot and problem with the facette in the bathroom. Water ajustement was not great. One more thing. The decor in the hotel and the rooms need and big update meaning that wallpaper and that color purple all over the place and the old carpet should go. U should lighting up the place. It would get the old smell away.
Location and price
If you are visiting Times Sauare the location is excellent, but don't expect a view from your hotel room.
Expect to visit the dirtiest hotel you have ever experienced. By way of example, we encountered Mold growing everywhere and on everything. The windows were so filthy you could bearly see outside. The plastic white coach had so many tears and stains you really didn't want to sit down. And the pull out sofa feature came with black mold spots and urine stains. We had specifically requested a non smoking room however received a room that smelled like smoke. The linens were like sand paper and the blankets stained. The exhaust fan in the only bathroom of our "suite", was non operational and the small window glass broken. I could go on, but I think you get the point. If you are staying in Times Square, spend the extra money and stay at the Crowne Plazza or Sheraton. The Best Western President Hotel will ruin your experience.
Perfect if you want to spend your money enjoying what the city has to offer.
A bit noisy you can hear whenever someone opens a door in another room.
Great location very close to Times Square, shops and subway stations. Nice comfort rooms, modern decor.
Cleanliness seems poor, one day they forgot to do the housekeeping to my room, but i talk at front desk and they apologize and do the work. Bathrooms are old and need to be updated.
Very central to all locations .
Back to sofa bed. I slept in it one night also and found it as equally uncomfortable as my son did. Your reception although efficient did not have a very friendly manner. An odd friendly smile goes a long way !
Clean, new rooms, wi-fi in the room
Beds are too soft and rooms too small. Hotel is one block from Time Square.
Just off Broadway, in the heart of NYC. Positive staff response to problems.
Dirty reception area should be cleaned as often as necessary during the day. Was moved because of insect life in first room, but second room also infested. Both rooms sleep was severely disrupted by noise from nearby fans/generators outside of the building. General upgrade of facilities and building needed.
Initially I was concerned after reading all the bad reviews, but they were all false! We were 3 ladies staying in a family room. The room was big (and for a change it resembled the size that the picture indicates). The bathroom was massive! It had a jacuzzi bath, separate shower and very spacious. Everything was clean and in working order. The staff were all helpful and friendly. No noise (we were on the 11th floor). Most perfect location if you're in NY to have fun! Proper value for money!
Really nothing to complain about.
Small rooms with small beds and permanent engine noises behind the hotel.
Wi-Fi was fast, bed was comfortable, not too noisy
Very tired and dirty. Dusty room, ripped and stained blankets. Black mould growing in bathroom. Was cold, couldn't stop air conditioning from blowing cold air all the time
At first we arrived and the rooms smelled like mildew, so we asked for room and they changed us. Then que had a problem with the security box and they changed our room again, this time to a bigger one. Still, we had a great experience! They have a shuttle to take us to the airport (it's very cheap) and also a place to store our luggage (we left to Boston for a couple of days). The bathrooms are very modern and clean.
The hallways smell like mildew and the rooms are not clean enough, the walls have stains and the carpets look a but dirty.
East to get to, whether by underground, tourist bus stops at top of the streeet
Noise from facility 2 doors down,
