FAQs about hotels in Brooklyn

The Giant of New York

Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

Great place that's evolved into a diverse chill environment.

Great place that's evolved into a diverse chill environment. Sure it's still the hustle bustle of Manhattan but it's more family oriented and less precious. You don't have to leave BK to enjoy food, culture and shopping. The museums and history is right there, along with sports and activities.

    Brooklyn is actually very awesome.

Brooklyn is actually very awesome. You could totally just do Brooklyn stuff and skip all the Manhattan pretense. There is lots to do but sometimes a pain to get around on subway (can't get there from here type of thing). Brooklyn Chinatown is probably the best in the area as far as safety, cleanliness, and chill vibe.

We dined at several very nice restaurants and enjoyed walking around the area north of the hotel - Greenpoint. Easy access to subway trains to Manhattan and south into Brooklyn. Visit was focused on visiting our son who lives in Greenpoint and works in Manhatten - did some touristy things in the city - and visited the MET.

I have been to Manhattan tons of times but this was my first time in Brooklyn. My 17-year-old and I loved it! I would love to go back when we have more time to see and do more. We spent a little bit of time in Prospect Park (SO pretty!), checked out 5th Ave in the Park Slope area, and had a great dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Calexico, which had a wonderfully welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Brooklyn seems easy to navigate and is very walkable and bike-friendly.

The hotel is in the center of Downtown Brooklyn, which means it's close to all sorts of local restaurants, food courts, and public transit. The area felt safe, even at night. The flavored water near the lobby entrance was nice, especially if you're settling in or on the go. The Phillips mood-changing light was a nice addition to the room, and helped me fall asleep at night. The bed was large and comfortable. The even rooms in the hotel was very clever.

The place to stay if you are looking to visit Brooklyn. They have lovely spacious studios, kitchenette included. All the areas are in good state and kept clean. The rooms are homely decorated, so you feel at ease immediately. There are also lovely businesses in the area to discover. The hotel also has a restaurant MADRE, which we have tried and was absolutely sublime. You should also try them when staying here. Overall, a really great place to stay

It would have been nice to arrive at the hotel I'd booked with Booking.com and which booking.com had confirmed to find it still operating as a hotel instead of arriving late at night with my son in downtown Brooklyn to be told the hotel had been taken over by the authorities and is now operating as a shelter leaving myself and my son alone at night after a 22 hour train journey in downtown Brooklyn with nowhere to stay. THAT would have been nice.

The room service was on top of making sure we had towels and new bathroom stuff for the day. Very close to the trains if you know how to figure out your routes. I do say if you are trying to see New York for Times Square the bus route is easy but you have to know how to navigate and the Ubers are $70+. The restaurants around the hotel that deliver are actually pretty good and do late night delivery also super cheap !!!

The hotel itself is really modern and bright. The staff are always friendly and helpful with our questions. The location is also great, in the middle of Williamsburg with many trendy restaurants, bars and stores. It takes about 5 mins walk to the L train and then one stop to the East Village. Very easy to change to other lines to go uptown or downtown. The price is quite fair for the convenience.

This is a budget tourist hotel set in an industrial part of Brooklyn with resulting high levels of street noise. The hotel is not quite as modern as it appears in the photos and is a a little tired. However it is close to the subway and has several good local bars, cafes and stores nearby. It is also good value compared to other hotels nearby. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The hotel had a good vibe - the atmosphere was alive with music in the evenings! Quaint rooms with some artistic influences in the decor - guitars on the wall, turntables in the room, frig looking like a jukebox etc. Staff was extremely friendly - from the wonderful doorman to the front desk personnel. Extremely well located within Brooklyn - at least for waht we needed.
