Warm welcome. Complimentary coffee. Excellent location. Good breakfast.
Electrical outlet in bathroom was loose. New tile had grout all over it. Remodeling needs remodeling.
Staff was very friendly. Complimentary breakfast and free parking very much appreciated for the price. Free shuttle too. Beds very comfortable.
Online pictures a little misleading as its not as spacious as they suggest, but still nice.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was an excellent value. I was able to walk to the fabulous art museums.
The breakfast area should be improved. The soft couches for seating are awkward.
The hotel was gorgeous. It had a Spanish vibe to it, and was very welcoming.
The mix-up on my room rentals and the pubic hair in the shower. Plus, parking was a bit of a problem. Do not take large vehicles here!
We stayed here 3 nights. Our main reason for visiting KC was to go to a Chiefs game. This hotel is located about 5 miles from the stadiums, but we didn't have any problems with directions or traffic getting there. We felt it was a great location with lots of things to do within walking distance, and easy access to town and Highways. Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable. We would stay again!
The staff were great
Cold shower, run down Best Western in a booming area. Poor facilities, not very clean (how clean can you reasonably expect a 40+ year old hotel without renovations).
Location, homey, easy access to Plaza and Westport.
Shower curtain kept falling down. Exercise room left a lot to be desired. Air conditioner made a loud sound, water cooler empty, no tv control.
Fitness room Breakfast bar with yogurt and fresh fruit and sausages Early evening staff
Auto shut off motion light in fitness room No flat pillows
Location was good.
Road noise in the room was bad. This made for poor sleeping conditions
Good location for our needs. Quiet and comfortable. Refrigerator was a nice touch.
Parking was a bit limited for a busy weekend night.
Every staff member that we encountered was very nice, polite, and helpful. It really made my stay enjoyable to have such good people working there. Demond was great. He was very nice, and personable. The next morning, when checking out, he remembered, and called me by, my first name.
Nothing worth mentioning; everything was very good.
location staff price
pillows were a little uncomfortable
The free shuttle service was an incredible bonus--however, it's also so conveniently located that we also walked to and from Westport one day and the Plaza the next--but used the shuttle service for after dark. The free parking, wi-fi and breakfast were also fantastic bonuses. We will definitely stay here every time we come to Kansas City.
Carpets were very dingy. I commented to my daughter that the atmosphere would have been entirely different, with new carpet.
Everyone working there was friendly and professional. They all went above and beyond to make up for the hotel itself.
Police sirens every 30 minutes all night long all around the area. Air conditioning units that were 40 yrs old and noisy. Patched walls, worn carpet, definitely a place that had seen better days.
the staff was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were spacious and clean. Free breakfast, free high speed internet and free business center use! Rooms reasonably priced. Close to the Atkins Museum!
Well, this is not the hotel's fault, but it should be mentioned. The neighborhood is not very inviting and the public bus which is scheduled to take you to nicer places is completely unreliable. Huge discrepancies between posted schedule/posted delays and actual rides. If you need to go anywhere within a reasonable time frame, you have to take a cab--walking is not really an option.
Efficient check-in and checkout. Newly assigned room was clean. Desk personnel made recommendations for dinner.
First room assigned had not been cleaned. Staff was quick to assign a different room. Although we had an internet password, we didn't need to use it. This made us suspect about the security of using the internet at the hotel. Breakfast menu indicated eggs for breakfast, but non showed up.
The bed and how noisy it was. But I'm from the country so the being loud doesn't really count because u can't be quieter than the country in the city.
Free off-street parking Free hot breakfast Fluffy Towels Lots of lovely pillows Very nice staff Keurig in the room Starbucks a block away Good Location
I primarily liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. When I checked in I wanted to know how to get to Kauffman Stadium from the hotel. The lady (didn't get her name) googled the information for me even though it took her over 5 minutes to do so. The room and bed were very comfortable and very clean. There was also a pleasant garden and small patio at the rear of the hotel. I did not partake of the complimentary breakfasts so I can't comment on that. The hotel is also conveniently located near the Country Club Plaza - with their numerous restaurants and shops - about a 10-15 minute walk. Also conveniently located bus stops near the hotel that will take you downtown in 10 minutes or will connect you to other routes. Handy if you don't have a car. All in all a pleasant stay and I would recommend to others.
I had a room that fronted on Main St. and on occasion it was quite noisy. There was a group of young people Fri nite/Sat morning who were somewhat noisy at one of the tables in front of the hotel. Also a group of motorcyclists who revved up their bikes on Saturday morning; but at least they had the courtesy not to do it too early (about 8am). Other than that it wasn't too bad as far as noise went and as I had my earplugs in I had very relaxing sleeps. Rooms away from Main St. will be quieter.
Fairly close to the Plaza but relatively cheap Good but not exceptional overall hotel experience
The plaza is in walking distance, but it's a longer walk than I would have liked. The "hidden" areas of our room were less than immaculate. (dust bunnies and beer tabs were found behind the bed, etc.)
Location was handy to our event.
We reserved a room with two queen beds. Upon check in, we discover one king. The front desk said they would bring a roll away and be set up before we returned. The bed was there but no pillow, sheets or blanket. It took two calls and a visit to the front desk to obtain enough material to make the bed.
Close to the area we pplanned to spend time. Reasonable price.
Heating/cooling unit had some type of deodorizer/scent material in the vents. Had to pull them out and open up the room to get rid off the smell.
Breakfast was great. Wasn't expecting the eggs, sausage and hash browns (although they were over-done)--nice surprise.
The pillows were not to my husbands liking. And although I knew going in, my children would have preferred having a pool.
It would have been nice to have a balcony or patio attached to the room. There wasn't a pool or outdoor area where you could sit in the sun.
