I came with my college age kid and 15 yr old. Both were impressed with the layout and decor of this hotel as was I. Parking was difficult to find initially as their lot was full as were the side streets, and then to be told. We had to come back because are room wasn't ready was a little perturbing but as smitten as we were with San Fran thus far we complied. Upon check in well into the evening everything was ready and the hotel parking had emptied some. Dinner at the Mums rstaurant attached was excellent. I never met a more cheery overnight hotel clerk as I did at 3.30am then I did hear so that was cool too. I will certai ly come back to this hotel if in the are for the location and price. Parking garage fee. 3pm checkin.

Great, quiet location, short walk from many attractions. Helpful friendly staff. Large attractive room. Affordable rates. Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Quality linens and personal products. Great hotel restaurant / bar. Try the Shabu Shabu! Airport shuttle service is excellent, $16 direct. Value for money can't be beaten. Free parking for bicycles, free wifi.

Really nice location to eat Japanese food late at night. Hotel staff was excellent and the room was better than expected. Parking was non-existent and I paid an extra $55.00 for getting to my car at 9:50am. The price was slightly high for a San Francisco hotel with zero parking.

Location! Japantown was a beautiful spot, however transport was needed for distance to downtown/mission district - really was not an issue at all as Japantown was the nicer part of San Fran. Anime theme and room size was great. Bed was comfortable and coffee in room was decent. Clean rooms. Small but decent fitness room. Friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms were a little small and dated. No fridge or microwave, felt that it was quite minimal with amenities for the amount of money spent to stay.

The night manager was Fantastic. We arrived late and he was so very helpful. We choose this hotel because it was close to the event we were attending the next morning. Very easy to get in and out. The beds were not very comfortable, and the shower only put out cold water so I had to sponge bathe that next morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful, bus to Fisherman Wharf easy to get, close to local shopping areas, and eateries, a lot of Japanese food, but there are others as well. Parking either at the hotel, or slightly cheaper under the mall across the street/kabuki hotel. Hotel $29, under the mall is $23. Hotel has one restaurant. Stores closed pretty early, including restaurant at the hotel. The location is quite a distance from tourism places, if you don't have car with you.

One minor complaint, the doors on the rooms tend to slam shut. It will vibrate the walls when someone enters or exit's their room 5 doors down. Can be a bit jarring if you're not expecting it.

Very good location, in Japantown, with lots of public transport possibilities to other parts of the city. Spacious room with good bed and decent coffee machine. Very friendly cleaning staff on my floor. The word "boutique" is a bit pulled by the hairs. This is a decent hotel, but I would not call it design. The bathroom is gloomy with poor lighting. Bathroom was not very clean when I arrived: hairs and towels from previous guests... Besides the nice person that checked me out on the last day, the rest staff at the reception were simply uninterested and unfriendly.

The design, the comfy rooms Location was a bit quiet for me, but well connected, the balcony was tiny and not worth the extra spend at all.

Although quite far from downtown it is reasonably well-connected by bus 2 and 3. It is located in Japantown with many good restaurants (of all types) in the neighborhood. For those fond of jazz there are quite a lot of nice places around. Rooms are comfortable and practical without being pretentious and, if you get an upper-level room, the view, especially at night, is rewarding. The staff is helpful and polite and if you need to stay in and work there are all necessary amenities (large desk, reasonably good internet connection) and you will not be bothered. All in all it is good value for money if you are not looking for an upscale fancy place. The hotel lacks its own restaurant (which is partly compensated by having several good restaurants within walking distance - 10-15 min.) and the in-house breakfast is quite poor.

The room was very comfortable with the extras you can use. The Japanese decor was great. People at the desk were very friendly. The price was right and the location wonderful. Parking on the street was always available within a block or at the most two. Don't park in the garage--for $25 a night you might have a spot to park. Although it was fine for us, there are no frills (E.G. bellhop, newspaper at your door, etc.) at the Tomo.

This hotel is very clean, clearly the housekeeping staff is excellent. Located in little Japan town, you feel like you are in a far- off place. I had a very large flat screen television in my king room, as well as very clean linens and towels. Its sister hotel The Kabuki is wonder full as well, and right next door. Everything was positive.
