Smell of the room
comfortable beds and spacious room
Wifi was not free
Check in was a little stressful. The employee checking me in could only handle one thing at a time. Asked everyone around him to be quite so he could focus. Multi tasking would seem to be a key feature/benefit of a hotel employee.
Front desk staff were exceptionally helpful suggesting restaurant options for dinner. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel restaurant's Japanese breakfast was delightful. The underground parking was convenient and secure.
How hard it was to log on to the Internet. So much information is requested.
The price per night.
I liked the quiet area around the hotel with good restaurants and near bus stops to city center.
They charged my credit card when I said I prefer to pay cash.
The bedroom was very good, comfortable and clean. Staff excellent. Free wifi welcome
4 star prices for what I would say is a good 3 star. The hotel entrance does not do it justice, you could easily miss it, it doesn't look like a hotel. Much better signage needed. Breakfast pricey for what it was.
Good location, plenty of good restaurants nearby - primarily Japanese but I wanted that. Two blocks away was Fillmore St. so other food was available readily. I asked for, and received a quiet room on a high floor. A big plus!
Nothing. A very pleasant stay, and within walking distance to my early morning destination.
Bathroom was too basic.
Location Wifi Videogame theme Offer in bathroom to provide items forgotten
Old bathroom Restaurant/Room service I didn't get the forgotten bathroom items I requested due to cleaning staff poor English and not understanding what I was asking for
Great location onsite restaurant
Party crowd next door-up til 1 am
It was pretty much central to all my needs, very nice place to stay and yes I would stay again.
The design, the comfort, the cleanness
It would be nice to provide more facilities like microwave and refrigerator
some strange pictures on the wall
Was a nice stay, would recommend it.
Liked our stay
Parking underneath the Hotel off the road. Breakfast was of a good quality. Equidistant from Union Square and the Golden Gate region. Nice safe area of town - some good local restaurants and bars. Unusual fun room graphics. Great pressure for a power shower.
Electrics in the room needed attention. One wall socket was intermittent. Young guy on the front desk was too sarcastic and familiar, he needs to tone down his act somewhat. Bit of a hike on foot to the usual tourist traps. Parking payment was expensive.
Proximity to Filmore St.
The restaurant was grim. We got double-billed for one night, apparently because they changed management company. I only found out when I got my credit card bill - very poorly handled by the hotel.
best hotel and good service
I liked that the Kimpton has just recently taken it over and hope that it will bring in some of its qualities that I've gotten used to in frequenting their hotels. The location is ideal for me and my purposes of visiting San Francisco, so this is where I will always stay.
Air conditioning system was weak at best. Also, for the amount per night charged, there should be real glasses offered in the rooms, instead of paper cups.
Bed is comfy!
The parking space is limited, though they guarantee a space, it's not a designed space, sometime it's really difficult to park and get out.
- location is great (central, but quiet in Japtown) - very comfy bed - spacious rooms, great views on the upper floors (6-8) - reasonably quiet - clean
- at the moment transition to a "kimpton hotel" - staff at the front desk was not very nice or polite (first sentence was: "credit card and id, please!") - free wifi only after registration - one afternoon without warm water (plumbing problems) - tv is a joke (analogue signal, mono, 360p on a 1080p tv) - parking expensive and limited (33 usd + tax, not 29)
I do not understand very expensive hotel charge per day in comparison of service and facility. Of course, I know cost for staying at Sanfrancisco is very high but I could not but stay with over USD400/day at that time.
