some strange pictures on the wall
Was a nice stay, would recommend it.
Liked our stay
Parking underneath the Hotel off the road. Breakfast was of a good quality. Equidistant from Union Square and the Golden Gate region. Nice safe area of town - some good local restaurants and bars. Unusual fun room graphics. Great pressure for a power shower.
Electrics in the room needed attention. One wall socket was intermittent. Young guy on the front desk was too sarcastic and familiar, he needs to tone down his act somewhat. Bit of a hike on foot to the usual tourist traps. Parking payment was expensive.
Proximity to Filmore St.
The restaurant was grim. We got double-billed for one night, apparently because they changed management company. I only found out when I got my credit card bill - very poorly handled by the hotel.
best hotel and good service
I liked that the Kimpton has just recently taken it over and hope that it will bring in some of its qualities that I've gotten used to in frequenting their hotels. The location is ideal for me and my purposes of visiting San Francisco, so this is where I will always stay.
Air conditioning system was weak at best. Also, for the amount per night charged, there should be real glasses offered in the rooms, instead of paper cups.
Bed is comfy!
The parking space is limited, though they guarantee a space, it's not a designed space, sometime it's really difficult to park and get out.
- location is great (central, but quiet in Japtown) - very comfy bed - spacious rooms, great views on the upper floors (6-8) - reasonably quiet - clean
- at the moment transition to a "kimpton hotel" - staff at the front desk was not very nice or polite (first sentence was: "credit card and id, please!") - free wifi only after registration - one afternoon without warm water (plumbing problems) - tv is a joke (analogue signal, mono, 360p on a 1080p tv) - parking expensive and limited (33 usd + tax, not 29)
I do not understand very expensive hotel charge per day in comparison of service and facility. Of course, I know cost for staying at Sanfrancisco is very high but I could not but stay with over USD400/day at that time.
The size of the bedroom with two queen beds was great. With good bathroom facilities.
Hotel was clean, didn't smell like an older hotel, ease of locating it, provided parking, restaurants within walking distance, Starbucks within walking distance, nice Bright room
Was not close to a trolley
The idea that they are anime-theme hotel turned out to be not as advertised. It was overhyped in the advertisement.
Very friendly and useful staff Original theme of the hotel (lobby & rooms). Pleasant location.
Still a considerable budget.
It was close to the hospital
Nice large room, well equipped. In a good location, safe area and lots of good restaurants.
Noisy vent fans on the roof caused vibration in top floor rooms and made it difficult to sleep. Moved to a lower floor room which was better. Expensive.
I booked this Hotel because it looked like it was a retro cool hotel in San Francisco . It looked interesting with its Japanese art and the information gave that impression . What it really was and we got was a very old Travelodge or some old. 70s hotel taken over and given a lick of paint and poor prints put in the rooms - the rest was old and not very clean . Old Carpet and curtains . We were offered a upgrade for a extra 15$ to a room with a balcony - well!!! If you could call it a balcony . The price of $300 for the room , no breakfast and $30 dollars for parking was so over priced ! I do not usually complain but I was so annoyed that we got a cheap hotel pretending to be something else . Very disappointed - Just stayed in a Travelodge in Monteray - half the price and a 100 better .
Everything was clean and comfortable.
I did not like the hidden cost of parking which was not listed as an extra fee when booking. So suprise when i get the bill for an already expensive one night stay to find out at check out $30 more dollars was added for parking at the hotel which is already tight and small enough to fit a normal size car in. NOT happy about that at all. I think over 300 for 1 night is enough and should include the cost of parking.
Location,cleanliness,price is fair
Free wi-fi is so-so
Good hotel overall. Japanese style hotel with manga and nice painting everywhere. Near to bus 2 and 3 that gets you right in the center of San Francisco
Parking not included and expansive
Room was clean.
Limited/No parking. Had to park two blocks away.
location wifi comfort everyday service spacy rooms
I Asked If There Was Anything The Hotel Could Do To Make My Boyfriend's Birthday Trip Better. They Sure Came Through! When We Arrived, There Were Treats, A Cool Postcard, And A Nice Note Wishing Him A Happy Birthday:) He Was Absolutely Thrilled:) We Had Also Requested A Room With A View, And We Ended Up On The Top Floor Where We Overlooked Half Of The City<3
For Whatever Reason, The Fridge And Keurig In Our Room Didn't Work, However, They Did Offer To Change Them Out Immediately When I Mentioned It. Also, The Wifi (That I Paid The Premium Charge For) Wasn't Cooperating With Me ForThe First Day:/
Although the hotel is far from the famous places, it is really comfortable, and staff is helpful.
Location. You will need to take buses and taxis if you want to get fun.
Very nice rooms, beautiful wall paintings and decoration. The location was good, walking distance to Union square (about 20 minutes).
Pricey and no breakfast included, though this is in general the case in SF, as we realized. The parking is also expensive.
