Seconds from the famed Harvard University and set in the heart of Harvard Square, this charming guesthouse offers cozy accommodations, a delicious free daily breakfast and an on-site library.
Score from 333 reviews Very good
Front desk messed up our request for a shuttle pickup at Harvard Square. We waited with 3 kids in the cold and rainy wind for an hour in the evening while everyone was exhausted.Desk person sort of minimized it by saying she must have been busy when our initial call had come in.
Breakfast and wonderful shuttle driver Juan.
Room cleaning could improve a lot.
Most of the staff was very friendly, the shuttle service to Harvard Square is awesome!
Breakfast very limited.
Great service especially at the front desk (Susan)
Charges for car park
Breakfast is not impressive .. Everyday same thing , hotel stuff was speaking bit aggressively when I called them for the the pick up shuttle who was late more than 1 hour (almost every time).
I was there for 3 weeks for my official trip to Boston. Room was good, neat and clean , u can get quite a few food shop ( whole foods, dunkin donuts, McDonald's, sushi etc ) near by.. For hotel itself .. They also have complimentary shuttle service
The in-room wifi was broken almost the entire 3 days of my visit. Fortunately one can use the Starbucks wifi from the hotel dining room. Walls are thin enough to hear the TV in the next room.
Staff was helpful and friendly; location is great for Cambridge, and the price is good (for the area). Room was comfortably big.
The snow. But that's not their fault. :)
Comfortable, updated and very clean
I didn't like how my "Smoking preference" room was switched to a non Smoking room I had to go outside to smoke a cigarette but other than that my stay at Best Western was excellent!
I liked how the staff were very polite and the room was spotless!
There is nothing I would have to criticize.
We were in Boston to see our daughter in a performance. We had our 8 year old grandchild with us. What a great staff - so friendly and helpful from calling cabs for us to loaning us a pin for the little one's dress - great service all around!! We loved it.
Furnishings a bit dated
Staff Bed Service Wifi
After breakfast, coffee in the lobby was cold, so I had to take it to the room and microwave it.
Clean, comfortable room. Full hot breakfast was great! Staff, especially Julia, were friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent! Very unassuming bar with fantastic help and food. The bar tender Annette was terrific!
The staff was very casual. The check-in staff was lounging when we arrived and not particularly welcoming. We had a bite to eat at the bar where the bartender was having her own dinner. It was all fine, given the price, but this behavior wouldn't be tolerated at a better hotel.
The price was reasonable and the sleeping accommodations were satisfactory.
The staff, I was welcome by somebody clearly not caring whether I was here or not. They were downright rude. The only positive point was the person working on the morning I was working, a young man named Wilson, who did his best to help me and was courteous. Also, the age of the hotel & the state of pretty much everything was really poor, especially considering the the price of the room.
Had wet floor due to heavy rain. Had to switch rooms after arriving late at night.
Location. 7min walk to subway. Shuttle to harvard square. Shops nearby.
The driveway directly into the rotary
Location, friendly staff, cleanliness and complimentary breakfast
garbage can in the hall just outside my door the three days I stayed.
Breakfast was outstanding
Good place to watch the fall leaves
It was unclear the best way for me to get to the hotel from the Alewife T stop. It ended up being about a .5 mile walk, so not bad, but it was late and dark and having to cross an overpass and walk past stripmalls wasn't terrific. Cambridge hotel prices though are insane, and I used the shuttle service to get to Harvard Square in the morning. Good "affordable" option if you need to save a bit of money (still over $200/night!) when staying near Harvard.
I'm a Best Western rewards member and a big fan of Best Western Plus hotels generally. This one met the standards I'm used to--good breakfast, comfortable rooms, a good workspace, friendly staff.
Not easy to walk around the area versus other Cambridge properties
Good location and a competitive price for the area
Loved the location, near Harvard and MIT.
nothing in particular. Please keep doing the things that are working for you without adding burdensome costs to guests.
bedding, cleanliness of room and hotel in general, friendliness of hotel staff, inclusion of breakfast in morning is wonderful, and location is very good - also liked hair dryer in room.
Don't have any real complaints. Wish it was a little closer to the city.
Need a place to stay, city (Boston)was way too expensive...location was better than others too far out of the city. It was clean, a place to lay out heads after a long day in the city!
Breakfast was too notch, but no restaurant for dinner. Staff was helpful, considerate, and knowledgable. Ten minute walk to Boston's T was a real plus!
wifi was extremely slow people were smoking right outside entrance and the smell permeated lobby congested area - not as close in as I expected
running at the Fresh Pond Starbucks short walk to Alewife T-station close to Whole Foods
